Welcoming the World, Together

IITA is navigating change, championing connection and ensuring the U.S. remains a welcoming destination

IN A TIME WHEN THE WORLD feels more connected than ever —and yet more complex, I’m honored to chair the International Inbound Travel Association, because our members come from every sector of the U.S. travel industry and they are the experts in inbound travel. Our members are your partners who will help you navigate the complexities of today’s global travel environment.

We are all operating in a landscape shaped not only by evolving traveler expectations and the changes resulting from the pandemic, but also by shifting geopolitical dynamics, visa processing challenges, and growing concerns around safety, stability and global mobility. These are real and pressing issues that directly affect how—and if—international travelers experience the United States.

Yet, even in this environment, I remain deeply hopeful.

Why? Because travel endures. Because curiosity overcomes distance. And because the work that you and our members do every day — crafting itineraries, building trust, and creating access — proves that travel is still one of the most resilient and human industries in the world.

This is a critical time for us to stay connected, communicate clear and up-to-date information to our customers and continue telling the world the U.S. is open and full of unforgettable memories. After all, we have a decade of opportunity before us for international travelers to have amazing American experiences as we celebrate the Route 66 Centennial, host FIFA World Cup, commemorate America’s 250th anniversary, and prepare for the summer and winter Olympics coming to the U.S.

As we navigate new policies and processes, we are leaning into the opportunities that come with change.

We are building bridges — between inbound operators and international buyers, between legacy destinations and emerging communities, between tradition and innovation. Whether it’s promoting lesserknown destinations, facilitating unique experiences, or investing in sustainable travel practices, our focus is on progress, not perfection.

At IITA, we are not turning away from the complexities. We are meeting them head on. This past year, we redoubled our efforts to advocate for fair and transparent travel policies, to collaborate with government and industry stakeholders, and to ensure that the United States remains a welcoming destination for people from every corner of the globe. We will both advocate for tourism-friendly policies and ensure our members – your partners – are informed of changes in visitor requirements and processes, so they can effectively guide you.

Your perseverance and partnership inspire us. You remind us that global travel is not just a transaction — it’s a relationship. It’s built on shared vision and a deep belief in what’s possible.

Let’s continue to move forward— together—with integrity, imagination, and impact.

With gratitude and great hope,

Lena

Turning Insight into Action

When international visitors come to the U.S., they bring more than economic benefit, they bring connection

AS WE REFLECT on another year of global engagement and inbound travel momentum, I want to take this opportunity to thank each of you—our international colleagues, travel advisors and tour operators—for the trust and energy you bring to our shared mission.

At the International Inbound Travel Association, we operate with a simple belief: when international visitors come to the U.S., they bring more than just economic benefit—they bring perspective, customs and connection. And behind every arrival is a network of professionals like you, working across time zones, cultures, and currencies to make those journeys possible.

This past year, our focus has been clear: listening, learning and leading. We’ve worked hard to ensure that IITA continues to serve as a hub of real-time intelligence and a catalyst for collaboration. Through member roundtables, inbound community engagement, advocacy on inbound related policies, and targeted marketing initiatives, we’ve made meaningful strides toward a more seamless, competitive, and compelling U.S. inbound journey.

We’ve also embraced the need for datadriven insight. Understanding how, why, and where international travelers are making decisions helps us all operate with greater confidence. That’s why we’re supporting stronger industry research and sharing actionable trends with our partners at every stage of the visitor journey.

As we look ahead, our priorities remain grounded in three key areas:

Accessibility – streamlining entry processes and improving the welcome experience, including access to our national parks and federal lands.

Adaptability – equipping our members with tools and training to evolve with changing travel behaviors and better serve international partners.

Authenticity – promoting diverse, lesserknown U.S. destinations that reflect the richness of our country beyond the headlines.

To our global partners: you are essential to our ecosystem. Whether you’re curating tailored trips or sending group tours through national parks, you help shape how travelers experience America. We are proud to support you, advocate for you, and grow with you.

On behalf of our entire IITA team, thank you for the role you play in bringing the world to the United States. We look forward to deeper partnerships and new opportunities in the year ahead.

With appreciation,

Meet the changemakers redefining the future of global travel

The travel industry is powered by visionaries—entrepreneurs, innovators and marketing minds who do more than keep the wheels turning. These Inbound Insiders are at the forefront of international tourism, not just reacting to change but driving it. Whether they’re leading influential organizations, building strong communities, or creating groundbreaking tools, they’re reimagining how we connect, explore, and experience the world. Their work shapes the tourism industry’s evolution and inspires the next generation of travel leaders.

The United States is a beautiful country and in 2026, millions will see that beauty first-hand thanks to a trio of major events that will unfold.

Where Do We Go From Here?

WE’VE BEEN HERE BEFORE. Times of uncertainty, confusion and waning consumer confidence impacting travel to the U.S. are not new to us. These cycles have historically impacted travel with temporary downturns and challenges for the U.S. inbound industry and travel trade distribution network. However, if there’s one thing we’ve learned over the years, it’s this: these conditions are not permanent. Time and time again, the market rebounds. Travel recovers. People return, eager to explore, discover, and experience everything the U.S. has to offer.

The U.S. inbound travel industry has always stood at the forefront, serving as the welcoming bridge between international travelers and unforgettable American experiences. Through our valued partnerships with travel trade professionals around the world, we have been able to create and offer trusted, essential travel products and services. These offerings are shaped with deep cultural understanding and tailored support to help our international clients succeed in promoting and selling the U.S. as a premier destination.

At the same time, our industry continues to advocate in Washington, D.C. We are actively engaging with lawmakers and government agencies to highlight the economic importance of inbound travel. By sharing facts, data, and practical solutions that address the needs of international travelers, we reinforce the value our industry brings to the national economy and local communities.

Importantly, we also share the very advantageous and valuable travel patterns with our hotel, attraction, and experience provider partners

across the country, educating them about the distinct differences between the domestic and international travel markets. These differences matter— and when understood and embraced, they open doors to new opportunities, better service delivery, and stronger business outcomes.

Collaboration has always been a hallmark of our industry. Whether it’s destination marketing organizations, local travel suppliers, or inbound tour operators, our success has long been built on partnerships grounded in trust, mutual understanding, and shared goals. During times of uncertainty, this spirit of collaboration becomes even more critical. It allows us to pool our knowledge, align our strategies, and find creative solutions together. By supporting one another, we strengthen the entire industry and set ourselves up for faster, more sustainable growth.

So, where do we go from here?

We go forward—just as we always have. We adjust to new environments by being reliable, knowledgeable and trusted allies to our international travel trade partners. We continue to support our domestic suppliers, work hand-inhand with destination marketers, and engage proactively with governing bodies. Above all, we stay committed to our collective mission: to welcome more international visitors and to ensure they enjoy the unique, diverse, and unparalleled experiences that only the United States can provide.

The road ahead may not be entirely smooth, but it is familiar. And with collaboration, perseverance, and shared vision, we know we will not only navigate this path — we will thrive on it. The future of inbound travel to the USA remains bright.

“During times of uncertainty, this spirit of collaboration becomes even more critical. It allows us to pool our knowledge, align our strategies, and find creative solutions together.”

Brand USA Rallies Travel Trade for a Landmark Year of Milestones

AS WE LOOK AHEAD to 2026 and beyond, we are entering a truly extraordinary chapter for the United States as an international destination.

The coming years will place the USA squarely in the global spotlight. In 2026 alone, we will host the FIFA World Cup, celebrate the 250th anniversary of American independence, and commemorate the 100th anniversary of Route 66—three milestone events that offer a once-in-a-generation opportunity to showcase the full depth and diversity of the United States to international travelers.

These events aren’t just celebrations —they are catalysts. They offer new reasons to travel, and fresh stories to tell. They connect world-class cities with rural treasures, globally recognized icons with hidden gems, and cultural heritage with the innovation and creativity that continue to define the American spirit.

As we prepare for this remarkable moment, one thing is clear: now is the time to double down on our partnerships with the travel trade.

At Brand USA, we believe that international tour operators, inbound operators, and U.S. suppliers working together are essential to realizing the full potential of what lies ahead. You are the bridge between global travelers and U.S. destinations. You translate dreams into itineraries, navigate challenges into solutions, and deliver experiences that create lifelong memories.

The last few years have proven the resilience of this industry. But they’ve also reminded us that rebuilding and growing international travel requires

trust, collaboration, and face-to-face engagement. That’s why Brand USA remains committed—now more than ever—to meeting with clients and inbound operators directly. Whether it’s at trade shows, sales missions, or roundtable discussions, we know that showing up in person is the best way to understand needs, overcome barriers, and build lasting partnerships.

In the months ahead, we are prioritizing travel trade engagement across key global markets. We’re investing in cooperative marketing programs, enhancing our tools for the trade, and working closely with our partners to ensure U.S. destinations remain top of mind—and top of list—for international travelers.

This is also a moment to broaden our reach. These milestone events offer a unique platform to spotlight rural and beyond-the-gateway destinations, engage diverse communities, and showcase experiences that resonate with today’s travelers—those seeking cultural connection, open space, and authenticity.

Whether clients are coming for a global tournament, a national celebration, or a one-of-a-kind group itinerary, we want to help you bring them here.

Together, we can shape the future of inbound travel—one that is innovative, inclusive, and built on strong, enduring partnerships.

Thank you for your continued collaboration and leadership. We’re proud to stand with IITA and the inbound community as we welcome the world to the USA.

Let’s make this moment count—together.

“As we prepare for this remarkable moment, one thing is clear: now is the time to double down on our partnerships with the travel trade.”

Why Indigenous Tourism Matters for Inbound Travel

IN THE REALM of global travel, where tourists seek authentic experiences and immersive cultural encounters, Indigenous tourism stands as a beacon of profound significance. It’s about more than just adding another stop on a tour; it’s a chance to connect with the living history, diverse cultures, and enduring spirit of America’s First Peoples. For the inbound travel community, embracing and promoting Indigenous tourism is essential for offering a complete and enriching understanding of the United States.

For more than 26 years, the American Indian Alaska Native Tourism Association (AIANTA) has worked diligently to support the development and promotion of Indigenous-owned and operated tourism enterprises across the United States with a mission to define, introduce, grow and sustain American Indigenous Tourism that honors traditions and values.

Consider the profound impact of experiencing the ancient cliff dwellings of Mesa Verde, guided by the descendants of those who built them. Imagine learning traditional pottery techniques from a Hopi artisan or hearing the stories of the Trail of Tears directly from a Cherokee elder. These aren’t just sightseeing opportunities; they are deeply personal and educational encounters that offer a perspective on American history and contemporary life often missing from mainstream narratives.

Why is this so important for the inbound travel community?

Cultural immersion offers an unparalleled opportunity for international travelers who are increasingly seeking authentic experiences that go beyond the surface level, offering a deeper understanding and appreciation of the complexities and richness of American history.

Economic empowerment is a benefit of Indigenous tourism across Native Nations and communities in the United States. Supporting Indigenous-owned and operated businesses, inbound travel

helps to generate revenue that directly benefits these communities. AIANTA plays a crucial role in providing these communities with the resources and training they need to develop and market their tourism offerings effectively, ensuring that they can thrive in the global marketplace.

THE CHANCE TO EXPAND BEYOND BORDERS

These trainings include AIANTA’s annual two-day Go International training workshop, now in its ninth year in 2025, designed to introduce the international tourism industry to American Indian, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian businesses and to help them take that critical next step of becoming export ready to generate sales to markets overseas. Go International gives Indigenous tourism professionals the chance to expand their reach beyond U.S. borders and showcase the incredible cultural diversity and heritage of Native Nations and communities to a global audience. Throughout the event, experts and industry leaders provide insights on international tourism trends, marketing strategies, and best practices for engaging with international visitors, while providing successful case studies and networking with attendees as they share visions and goals for business, Native Nations and communities, and tourism development.

The inbound travel community has a significant role to play in amplifying these efforts. By actively seeking out and partnering with Indigenous tourism operators - by including our stories and experiences in travel itineraries, and by respecting the cultural protocols and sovereignty of tribal nations - we can collectively create a more enriching and authentic travel landscape for all.

The future of meaningful inbound travel begins with heightening the journeys of international visitors and fostering a deeper appreciation for the First Peoples of this land. We welcome you to Discover Native America.

“Economic empowerment is a benefit of Indigenous tourism across Native Nations and communities in the United States. Supporting Indigenous-owned and operated businesses, inbound travel helps to generate revenue that directly benefits these communities.”

All Y’all Are Welcome

THE AMERICAN SOUTH isn’t just a few iconic destinations anymore—it’s a global phenomenon of food, music and culture. That’s the message I want to amplify as we continue redefining the region’s international tourism strategy. We offer a warm, wholehearted invitation—All Y’all Are Welcome and we are forging a collaborative and intentional path that transforms Southern hospitality into a global opportunity for operators of all sizes.

International inbound tourism is more than a metric to us—personal and practical. It’s a cornerstone of economic development, especially in the South, where tourism revenue is key in rural communities and small towns. These places are rich in culture and charm, but they need visibility. International visitors bring that—and more.

Unlike domestic travelers, overseas guests tend to stay longer, spend more, and go deeper. They’re not just snapping pictures; they want stories, flavors, music and landscapes they can’t find anywhere else. And that’s exactly what we deliver—from the haunting soul of Delta blues and the legacy of Civil Rights history to the culture and flavors of whiskey trails and the thrill of whitewater rafting.

Partnership is at the heart of our success, specifically with international inbound tour operators. RTOs have been and will continue to be critical in our strategy as they serve as our first line of Global Ambassadors. They help translate the South into bookable, inspirational experiences that resonate with international audiences.

We currently partner with nearly 20 RTOs and are always inviting more to join us. Our approach is hands-on and relationship driven. We connect RTOs directly with local suppliers, destinations, accommodations and attractions through curated workshops and industry events. We become even

more savvy with marketing co-ops, investing in inspirational content, gathering first-party data, and delivering leads to operators to book the trip. Our partnerships aren’t transactional; they’re transformational.

I often compare the role of RTOs to modern healthcare. Decades ago, one doctor handled everything. Today, you have general practitioners and specialists. Tourism is similar.

Some operators function like GPs— broad-reaching, vertically integrated companies that cater to wide audiences and offer consistent exposure across multiple platforms. Others are the specialists—nimble, niche experts who design customized itineraries, handle airport transfers, provide language services, and manage every detail that shapes an unforgettable journey.

THE SOUTH HAS MUCH TO OFFER

One of the most rewarding parts of our work is watching emerging destinations step into the spotlight. Through many of our initiatives, we’re helping small towns gain visibility with global tour planners and media outlets. Some of these communities would never get that chance otherwise.

The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive—from tour operators, journalists, and travelers alike. One phrase we hear time and again is, “I had no idea the South had so much to offer.” And to that, we say, “Next time, bring your friends.”

What’s Next? We’re focused on sustaining momentum. That means doubling down on what’s working: strengthening partnerships, refining our messaging, and remaining nimble as global travel evolves. We want the South to become a permanent part of the international travel conversation.

So, if you’re looking for new horizons, come South. Join us in building something extraordinary. All Y’all are Welcome.

“One of the most rewarding parts of our work is watching emerging destinations step into the spotlight. Through many of our initiatives, we’re helping small towns gain visibility with global tour planners and media outlets. Some of these communities would never get that chance otherwise.”

America Gears Up for a Landmark Year in

With the World Cup, Route 66’s 100th anniversary and the America 250 celebration, the United States is set to welcome millions for a historic year

THE UNITED STATES is poised for an extraordinary year in 2026, with a trio of landmark events set to captivate travelers and history enthusiasts alike. For starters, the 2026 FIFA World Cup will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico, marking the first time the tournament spans three countries. The U.S. will welcome soccer fans to 11 host cities and the final match is scheduled to take place at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on July 19, 2026.

This global event is expected to draw millions of visitors, offering a unique opportunity to experience the diverse cultures and landscapes of North America.

Simultaneously, Route 66 will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2026. Known as the “Main Street of America,” this iconic highway stretches from Chicago to Santa Monica, California, and has long been a symbol of American freedom and adventure. Commemorative events, festivals, and road trips are planned along the route, inviting travelers to relive the golden age of American road travel and explore the charming small towns and historic landmarks that line the highway.

Adding to the national celebrations, in 2026, America250 will honor the 250th anniversary of the United States’ founding. This year-long series of events will highlight the nation’s rich history, cultural diversity and democratic ideals. From educational programs and historical reenactments to community festivals and national exhibitions, America250 aims to inspire a renewed sense of pride and unity among Americans, while also welcoming visitors from around the world to join in the festivities.

Together, these three monumental events promise to make 2026 a year of unparalleled cultural exchange, historical reflection, and shared celebration across the

WORLD CUP

The FIFA World Cup 26 will be the 23rd edition of the tournament but the first to feature 48 teams and three host countries: Canada, Mexico and the United States.

As the most-watched sporting event on the planet, the tournament, which will take place between June 11 and July 19, 2026, is expected to attract an estimated 5.5 million visitors, with the majority spending time in the U.S. thanks to 11 of the 16 host cities being located stateside. The American host cities include Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Miami, New York/New Jersey, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Seattle. Each of these destinations will welcome fans from around the world, offering a once-in-a-generation opportunity to showcase their stadiums, communities, and culture.

The United States last hosted the men’s World Cup in 1994, whereas it will be Canada’s first time hosting or co-hosting the men’s tournament.

ROUTE 66

Since 1926, no other roadway in American history has evoked a sense of reverence, nostalgia and wanderlust quite like Route 66. Running between Chicago and Santa Monica, California, the 2,448-mile asphalt artery was synonymous with road trips and the golden age of automobile travel.

Though interstate superhighways have supplanted the so-called Main Street of America, many stretches of old Route 66 are still open to traffic, providing peeks into America’s past as it threads towns big and small. Those who explore Route 66 during its centennial in 2026 will be treated to more fun than usual. Plans are underway for special projects and celebrations in communities across the country. Here are a few:

New in St. Robert, Missouri is the Route 66 Neon Park, an open-air museum featuring nearly a dozen retro signs, each with a storyboard and historical photo. Positioned among oak trees in an existing

Recent Route 66 developments in Illinois include the Illinois State Fairgrounds Route 66 Experience, an outdoor walk-through exhibit with little red sheds highlighting businesses and attractions, past and present, in 92 Illinois communities. The garden courtyard brims with replicas of billboards and neon signs that once advertised motels, a drive-in movie theater and other places along the fabled ribbon of roadway.

In New Mexico, the city of Albuquerque is providing grants to support the restoration and construction of neon signs along its Route 66 corridor. Known as Central Avenue as it passes through the city, the road connects a series of diverse neighborhoods. Besides new flashes of neon, Central Avenue is being revitalized with large-scale murals and interactive art installations.

The Arizona Route 66 Museum at the Kingman Visitor Center is updating exhibits with touch screens and app integration. In 2024, a $7 million streetscape renovation transformed Beale Street in historic downtown Kingman into a more inviting space.

AMERICA250

America250 comprises a series of special events and museum exhibitions that honor our nation’s founding. The red-letter day will be July 4, 2026, the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, but events will take place months before and after.

Many are comparing America250 to the country’s bicentennial bash in 1976, a star-spangled commemoration that, for those old enough to remember, evokes memories bathed in red, white and blue. There were sculptures and monuments created for the occasion, plenty of USAthemed merchandising and festivities in towns big and small.

As home to the original 13 colonies, the Eastern Seaboard as a whole naturally will be a prime focus of semiquincentennial festivities and observances, with Virginia— the first, largest and most prosperous colony—in a starring role.

One signature event will be Sail250 Virginia (June 12-14 and June 19-22, 2026), which will feature an international fleet of tall ships and military vessels in Norfolk and other ports.

In Richmond, the 250th anniversary of Patrick Henry’s rousing “Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death” speech was celebrated with the grand opening of the Give Me Liberty exhibition at the Virginia Museum of History and Culture. The Give Me Liberty exhibition opens at the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown in April 2026.

Eleven cities in the United States will host World Cup matches in 2026.
The United States has big plans for its 250th anniversary in 2026.

AMTRAK EXPANDS ALABAMA ADVENTURES WITH NEW TRAIN ROUTES

Get ready to explore Alabama in style as Amtrak rolls out an exciting new passenger train service. Starting in the summer of 2025, New Orleans to Mobile service should begin. This addition will result in Amtrak service with two distinct routes from New Orleans to Alabama, one along the Gulf Coast to Mobile and another to the central part of the state.

First up, the beloved Crescent Train offers a leisurely 8-hour ride from New Orleans to Central Alabama, perfect for travelers seeking relaxation and rich destinations. This route links you to three central Alabama hotspots, including Birmingham—nicknamed the “Dinner Table of the South” for its culinary prowess and a cornerstone of American Civil Rights history. Also in Alabama along the route are Tuscaloosa and Anniston. From there, the Crescent opens doors to endless travel possibilities, whether you’re looping back to New Orleans or venturing onward to Atlanta, Washington D.C., or even New York.

Amtrak’s brand-new New Orleans-toMobile route debuts in 2025, delivering a budget-friendly, 3-hour trip with two daily departures. This short-and-sweet ride ties together two Gulf Coast gems that share a deep love for history, bold flavors, and Mardi Gras revelry. In Mobile, you’ll savor world-class seafood, explore the historic Africatown community, marvel at prime birdwatching spots, and unwind on nearby pristine beaches.

With these two routes, Amtrak is making Alabama more accessible—and irresistible— than ever.

GET YOUR VIBE ON I-65: AN EPIC ROAD TRIP FROM THE GREAT LAKES TO THE GULF

With the 100th anniversary of Route 66 sparking a renewed love for long-distance adventures, it’s time to set your sights on a fresh, iconic journey – Interstate 65. Stretching from the Great Lakes to the Gulf, I-65 offers a thrilling ride through the Midwest and South, blending vibrant cities, rich history, and stunning landscapes. Buckle up and get your vibe on I-65 for a trip that’s as diverse as America itself.

FROM THE HEARTLAND TO THE SOUTH: THE JOURNEY BEGINS

Kick off your adventure in Chicago, the third-largest city in the U.S. and a top-tier tourist destination nestled along Lake Michigan, one of America’s Great Lakes. From the Windy City, head south on I-65, where the Midwest unfolds in all its glory. Stop in Indianapolis to soak in the highoctane energy of racing culture, then roll into Louisville to sip on world-famous bourbon. Next up is Nashville, the beating heart of country music, where you can tap your boots to live tunes on every corner.

ALABAMA: THE SOUTHERN STAR OF I-65

As you cross into Alabama, the journey takes a soulful turn. First, explore Huntsville, known as the “Rocket City,” where the U.S. Space & Rocket Center offers a glimpse into the stars. Just a short detour away, Muscle Shoals and Florence—collectively dubbed the “Hit Recording Capital of the World”— beckon with their legendary music history at FAME and Muscle Shoals Studios, where icons like Aretha Franklin and the Rolling Stones laid down tracks.

Further south, central Alabama’s Birmingham and Montgomery deliver a powerful dose of history. In Birmingham, gearheads will love the Barber Motorsports Museum, home to one of the world’s largest motorcycle collections. Historians will love exploring the Birmingham Civil Rights District. Dive into the Civil Rights Movement with visits to the Legacy Museum and the National Memorial for Peace and Justice in Montgomery or pay homage to Rosa Parks at the Rosa Parks Museum.

The I-65 adventure wraps up in Mobile, a historic port city with deep Mardi Gras roots and some of the freshest seafood on the Gulf Coast. Stroll through Africatown to connect with its unique cultural heritage. Then, decide your final Gulf Coast stop – stick around in Mobile, head to the pristine beaches of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, or swing west to the jazz-filled streets of New Orleans.

INSIDER TIP: THE ULTIMATE SOUTHERN LEG

For a shorter but equally unforgettable trip, focus on the lower half of I-65. Start in

Nashville and travel through Alabama, hitting its cultural gems and Gulf Coast beaches before heading west to New Orleans. In half the distance, you’ll experience a perfect blend of music, history, culture, beaches, and mouthwatering Southern cuisine. It’s the ideal way to soak up the best of the South on one epic road trip.

ALABAMA’S MUSIC SCENE SOARS TO NEW HEIGHTS

From the soulful wail of jazz to Jimmy Buffett’s breezy island tunes, Alabama’s musical tapestry is weaving a bold new chapter with cutting-edge exhibits and sprawling venues popping up statewide. In downtown Mobile, the National Maritime Museum of the Gulf is building a 5,000-square-foot, two-floor homage to the iconic Jimmy Buffett. Slated for a September 2026 unveiling, this immersive experience will explore Buffett’s nautical heritage and his unmistakable tropical flair. The museum’s spot carries deep resonance—perched across from where Buffett’s parents once worked and steps from the river his grandfather sailed.

Over in Birmingham’s storied Civil Rights District, the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame has emerged anew from a sweeping renovation. The 2,200-square-foot space now shines as a sleek showcase of the state’s jazz heritage. Nearby, the Uptown entertainment district is poised for a blockbuster summer with the debut of the 9,300-seat CocaCola Amphitheater, ready to pulse with the energy of its first crowds and inject a fresh rhythm into the city’s core. This new amphitheater marks Alabama’s fourth major outdoor stage, joining an impressive roster: the 10,000-seat The Wharf in Orange Beach, the 8,410-seat Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater in Tuscaloosa, and the 8,000seat Orion Amphitheater in Huntsville. Together, they signal a crescendo in the state’s live music offerings.

Add to that the storied studios of Muscle Shoals, plus Montgomery’s Hank Williams legacy—complete with his statue, museum, and gravesite—and it’s clear Alabama’s latest ventures are just the newest notes in a thriving symphony. Here, music doesn’t
