DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA WASHINGTON, D.C. — The National Mall will get an estimated $500 million in improvements ahead of the United States’ 250th anniversary celebration in 2026. The city anticipates an influx of tourists and is preparing with renovations to the Lincoln Memorial, which will boast a new 15,000-square-foot exhibit space beneath the memorial. Constitution Gardens will also get a revamp. The Jefferson Memorial and Tidal Basin are undergoing repairs to fix the seawall. The repairs have resulted in the removal of 158 cherry trees, which will be replaced by 274 new trees upon the project’s completion in 2027.

NEW YORK CITY — From July 3-9, 2026, NYC and New Jersey will host Sail4th 250, a series of events celebrating the 250th anniversary of America’s independence. hen thinking of Myrtle Beach, you probably imagine bustling boardwalks, white sandy beaches, golf, and a rich, exciting nightlife. While these are true, The Grand Strand offers so much more with breathtaking nature, beautiful wildlife, and a vibrant art scene.
BROOKGREEN GARDENS Opened in 1932, Brookgreen Gardens has stood the test of time and continues to entertain tourists and locals alike, bringing in over a quarter of a million visitors a year. This extravagant nature experience was voted one of the Top 10 gardens to visit in the U.S. by TripAdvisor. While exploring you can choose from a wide variety of activities and locations. The garden hosts daily tours with the option to walk, ride in a Trekker, or cruise on a boat. Guests can marvel at the over 2,000 sculptures created by 430 artists while walking the grounds and botanical gardens.
MURRELLS INLET ECO-TOUR It’s impossible to fully explore Myrtle Beach without taking to the water, and the Murrells Inlet Eco-Tour provides the best cruise tour experience. After boarding the Explorer, guests will be taken on an adventure through Murrells Inlet. The expedition features narration from a naturalist who will explain the local animals and environment while you observe. While on the venture, guests can participate in a variety of activities including holding and examining local crab species, observing a dredge located at the bottom of the creek, and exploring the beach during the walkabout, in which you can collect shells and take in the gorgeous environment.

MYRTLE BEACH ARTS & GALLERY TRAIL The Grand Strand stretches over 60 miles on South Carolina’s coastline, with hundreds of art galleries, sculptures, and museums to visit along the way. NORTH CAROLINA MOUNT AIRY — The new Siamese Twins Museum spotlights the life and times of the original Siamese twins, who lived in Surry County during the mid-19th century. It tells the story of the conjoined lives of
NASHVILLE — The Museum of Christian & Gospel Music just opened in downtown Nashville, one block from the Ryman Auditorium. A project of the Gospel Music Association (GMA), the 11,000 sq.-ft. museum includes interactive displays that celebrate current artists, preserves the legacies of Christian and gospel music trailblazers, and looks to the future. It will open in spring 2026 in a sprawling new building in the park’s Wildwood Grove area, the same area that is home Big Bear Mountain roller coaster. The amphibious ride vehicle will interact with multimedia projections, dynamic onboard and offboard audio, and special lighting effects to immerse guests in the Smoky Mountains. As the world’s first indoor family hybrid coaster and whitewater river raft ride, NightFlight Expedition will take riders on a search for bioluminescence in the nation’s most-visited national park. Netflix House is a new entertainment destination at Galleria Dallas. OKLAHOMA CITY — In time for the Route 66 Centennial in 2026, the Route 66 Neon Park in Oklahoma City will feature 10 iconic signs originally visible on Oklahoma’s stretch of Route 66 from 1939-2016, all fully restored with neon lighting. The free outdoor exhibit, with a walk-through path, an Airstreamstyle bandstand for concerts, vintage billboards and a bathroom facility modeled after a 1950s Phillips 66 Gull Wing service station, will be strategically located at the Oklahoma History Center, across from the Oklahoma State Capitol. The Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Gardens is undergoing $71 million in infrastructure improvements through 2028 as part of a 10-year master plan from 2024 to 2034. NORTH DAKOTA Medora — Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library, near Theodore Roosevelt National Park, has set its grand opening for July 4, 2026, the 250th anniversary of American independence. The 26th U.S. president lived and ranched in North Dakota after the death of both his wife and mother on February 14, 1884, and he often returned to the area. The site is on land purchased by the Roosevelt family from the U.S. Forest Service, which was founded in 1905 during Roosevelt’s administration. UTAH SALT LAKE CITY — The multi-year renovation project in Temple Square, the heart of downtown tourist activity and world headquarters of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is expected to be completed in 2026. The Salt Lake Temple, surrounded by scaffolding that is finally starting to be taken down, is being fitted with upgraded electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems. Its foundation is being strengthened to protect against earthquakes, and historic rooms are being restored. The site will see modified plazas and landscaping, plus new pavilions, including one with exhibits explaining the purpose of Mormon temples (which are offlimits to non-church members).
