TRIBUTES
VeronicaMattis(Sister-in-Law-USA)
Clive was a wonderful kind and generous man. I was the maid of honour at his wedding to my sister Milly over 35 years ago. We went on many group holidays together. He was a great brother-in-law. A gentle giant. I never heard him raise his voice in all the years that I knew him. I'll always remember when I would call Milly and then speak to him, I would ask how he was doing and he would say ‘all the better for hearing your voice’. He will be greatly missed, but he's not in any pain or suffering anymore. He's in a better place now with the Lord.

Uncle Clive, I'm proud of the man you were while on your earthly assignment. You have left a legacy that will be talked about for generations to come. Were, is past tense and as I write these words I believe you are still present. So uncle Clive, you ARE kind, courageous, comical, smooth, loving and thoughtful... I could go on & on. Thank you for showing the world, that though few are present, REAL gentleman do still exist. You ARE an amazing soul, now rest easy... sit back and let the King take over for now. I love you forever and always.

I remember my younger days. Uncle Clive wasn’t uncle Clive he was Unc Unc. The gentle giant that when I wanted to play, would use his unfair size to grasp both my arms in his one hand and shut me down with a Kung Fu movie sound effect. He’d say “pshh! don’t be doin me like that man”. I remember thinking one day I’ll be big and strong just like him. I remember playing Tekken with Unc Unc on his PS1 console; they have the same game for my PS4 and whenever I see it I think of who got me into video games either knowingly or unknowingly. These are only two memories of the myriad I have of this man whom I love and is perhaps the greatest man I will ever know; his influence on me will be likely more than he will know. Uncle Clive I miss you and I love you, now rest easy you’ve earned it.

Good morning to the Sheffield family, friends, and loved ones. Today is such a sad day as we have to say goodbye to Clive. Our hearts break along with you because he will be sorely missed. My heart aches because I was not able to say a proper goodbye to my nephew. I live in the United States and due to COVID-19, I was not able to travel to see him. Clive is one of my favourite nephews and I would always call to see how he is doing. No matter what, he would always give me a smile. A few weeks ago, I did not see that smile from him. I will deeply miss speaking with him on WhatsApp. Please know that we will miss Clive, but he will forever be in our hearts. To Clive’s wife Millicent, and mom Sister Pearl, sisters Gillian, Carol, and the rest of the family, please stay strong. Clive is in a better place, take comfort in knowing that we all shall meet again someday. May the Lord keep you safe under his wings as you begin to navigate this new existence. Our prayers are with you and the family. May God bless you all.
