Director's Message Greetings, Redwood City!

Earlier this summer, many of us watched something special unfold. As teams advanced through the FIFA World Cup, parks, restaurants, living rooms, and public gathering spaces filled with people wearing their favorite team's colors, waving flags, and celebrating a sport that united communities around the world.

Whether you were cheering for Mexico, the United States, another team, or simply enjoying the excitement, it was a powerful reminder of what it means to belong.

Belonging is about more than sharing the same interests or cheering for the same team. It is the feeling of being welcomed, connected, and part of something bigger than ourselves.

Creating those spaces is exactly what Parks, Recreation and Community Services strives to do every day through our parks, programs, events, and community spaces.

We are also very proud to have hosted the ribbon cutting and opening of our brand new 45,000 square foot Veterans Memorial Building/ Senior Center, which has already welcomed more than 900 members. Watching new friendships form, familiar faces reconnect, and people discover a place where they feel at home is exactly what belonging looks like.

To our incredible PRCS team, thank you. Your work, often behind the scenes, creates opportunities for our community to connect, celebrate, and make lasting memories. Your dedication is what makes these experiences possible, and I am truly grateful for the impact you make every day.

Pre-registration is required for all classes!

Register early so our instructors can plan and so that we don't cancel due to low enrollment.

Classes may be cancelled if there is low enrollment.

All registrations are taken on a first come first serve basis.

Waiting lists will be established if a program is full. If a space becomes available we will contact you. You will not be charged for the class unless you are enrolled.

If you would like a refund, please fill out a refund request form at www.redwoodcity.org/refund.

RESIDENT STATUS Any person with a home Redwood City mailing address is considered a resident. A Redwood City P.O. Box or business address will not be taken as proof of residency. A nonresident is someone who lives in another city. But guess what? We don't charge non-resident fees for classes & camps!

If a class is cancelled by the department, a full refund will be issued.

CLASS Cancellations made 1 week prior to the class start date will receive a refund less a $5 cancellation fee PER CLASS.

Students who wish to withdraw from a class less than one week prior to the start date will receive a department credit which may be applied to any future recreation department activity, less the $5 cancellation fee, PER CLASS as well as any materials fees stated non-refundable after a certain date per the class description.

In general, no refunds or credits will be issued after the class begins.

Students who are dissatisfied with a program for any reason must fill out a refund request form prior to receiving a credit so we can make the class better in the future. Credits and refunds will be evaluated on a case by case basis by the program supervisor. Form can be found here: www.redwoodcity.org/refund This policy applies to our fee based recreation programs and not to: Adult sports leagues, building/facility rentals & fees, food concessions, special events, recreational (open) swimming, aerobics and fitness passes, trips and class materials.

REDWOOD CITY PARK & PICNIC INFORMATION Nine of Redwood City’s beautiful parks (highlighted in blue) have picnic areas to reserve year-round. Residents can reserve dates any time during the season, Non-Residents can reserve tables up to one year in advance. The cost varies per area. Park availability & area photos can be accessed online. Parks with a castle icon allow Bounce Houses as a rental “add-on.” Reservation requests may be made online at redwoodcity.org/picnics or contact 780-7327 or picnics@redwoodcity.org.

Enjoy top-flight instruction from the staff of Stanford Hall of Famer John Whitlinger and longtime Stanford/RSPA Pro Tom Sarsfield.

Youth (8-14yrs) classes of 3-6 players will consist of eight 55 minute lessons. Terrific Tiny Tennis classes will consist of eight 40 minute lessons. Players provide own rackets.

AGE 18+ Enjoy top-flight instruction from the staff of Stanford Hall of Famer John Whitlinger and longtime Stanford/RSPA pro Tom Sarsfield.

Adult pickleball classes of 4-12 players (four players per court) will consist of eight 55 minute lessons. Winter classes consist of eight lessons. Spring classes consist of six lessons. Students provide own paddles.

Unless otherwise notified, makeup lessons will be held on the next regularly scheduled day and time. However, Fridays (for weekday lessons) or Sundays (for weekend lessons) may be used at the instructor’s discretion.
