Pre-registration is required for all classes! Register early so our instructors can plan and so that we don't cancel due to low enrollment. Classes may be cancelled if there is low enrollment. All registrations are taken on a first come first serve basis. Waiting lists will be established if a program is full. If a space becomes available we will contact you. You will not be charged for the class unless you are enrolled. If you would like a refund, please fill out a refund request form at www.redwoodcity.org/refund.
RESIDENT STATUS Any person with a home Redwood City mailing address is considered a resident. A Redwood City P.O. Box or business address will not be taken as proof of residency. A nonresident is someone who lives in another city. But guess what? We don't charge non-resident fees for classes & camps!

If a class is cancelled by the department, a full refund will be issued. CLASS Cancellations made 1 week prior to the class start date will receive a refund less a $5 cancellation fee PER CLASS.

SUBJECT TO CHANGE...
Students who wish to withdraw from a class less than one week prior to the start date will receive a department credit which may be applied to any future recreation department activity, less the $5 cancellation fee, PER CLASS as well as any materials fees stated non-refundable after a certain date per the class description. In general, no refunds or credits will be issued after the class begins. Students who are dissatisfied with a program for any reason must fill out a refund request form prior to receiving a credit so we can make the class better in the future. Credits and refunds will be evaluated on a case by case basis by the program supervisor. Form can be found here: www.redwoodcity.org/refund This policy applies to our fee based recreation programs and not to: Adult sports leagues, building/facility rentals & fees, food concessions, special events, recreational (open) swimming, aerobics and fitness passes, trips and class materials.

Residents can reserve dates any time during the season, Non-Residents can reserve tables up to one year in advance. The cost varies per area. Park availability & area photos can be accessed online. Enjoy top-flight instruction from the staff of Stanford Hall of Famer John Whitlinger and longtime Stanford/USPTA Pro Tom Sarsfield. Youth (8-14yrs) classes of 3-6 players will consist of eight 55 minute lessons. Terrific Tiny Tennis classes will consist of eight 40 minute lessons. Players provide own rackets.

with Rona Foster. Rona has taught art workshops for adults around the bay area for about 15 years She is both a painter, mixed media, and clay artist. Rona paints with acrylic paint, often adding texture by using different kinds of paper, gels, and mediums to her canvas.
NEW CREATE COLORFUL PAINTED COLLAGE PAPERS
Create colorful papers with acrylic paint. You'll be shown how to create interesting textures and patterns and you'll have an opportunity to create your own collection of painted and textured papers to use in your art such as collage, decorative cards, art journaling, and other mixed media projects. Take this workshop by itself or also sign up for "Techniques Using Acrylic and Collage" where you'll have the chance to use your collage papers to make beautiful compositions on canvas. This is a a fun and playful workshop. Some materials are supplied including blank paper, paint, brushes and texturing tools. AFTERNOON ART SESSION: COLLAGE
In the afternoon session, We will be creating our own hands-on collages with all types of surfaces. All participants will gather their own supplies which we will discuss the first day of class while making paper collage cards. TECHNIQUES USING ACRYLIC AND COLLAGE In this workshop learn a variety of collage and painting techniques using acrylic paint, and colorful paper. Texturing techniques will be introduced and how to varnish your canvas to preserve your art. The use of mixed media allows for creative freedom and playful expression, making this class accessible and enriching for artists of all levels. Participants are free to create any image they wish, whether it be abstract or semi-abstract. By the end of the session, you’ll have a unique work of art that reflects your personal style, along with a deeper understanding of how to use materials and principles to create a compelling work of art, and new ideas, techniques and inspiration to take your art to the next level. DOGS 4 MONTHS + | FAMILY MEMBERS AGE 11+ with Paige Tyson BEGINNING: Teach your dog essential commands like sit, down, stay, come, heel, and "easy" (walking politely without pulling). Your dog will learn to move freely and easily with the collar, so one day you barely have to use it! This training builds a positive relationship through praise and encourages your dog to willingly follow commands. Verbal and/or physical praise from owner is given. Specific behavioral issues will also be addressed, either in class or through simple lifestyle changes at home. Bring a comfortable 6-foot leash; the instructor will provide a nylon collar. INTERMEDIATE: This class will instruct students in off-leash control. This is done with the addition of a 30 foot long line. ALL Dogs must have current rabies and distemper vaccinations. COOKING, BAKING & CANDY MAKING CLASSES WITH THE CAKE ROBIN
AGE 18+ Students 17 and under must receive Instructor approval and be accompanied by a paid adult with Chef Instructor, Robin Wolfgram, Owner, The Cake Robin, Director of Education for Cake4Kids. All ingredients, aprons, and equipment are included in the registration fee. Just bring yourself and a to-go container for your creations! Recipes and equipment suggestions will be provided in class. SENIOR PEER COUNSELING PROGRAM
The Senior Peer Counseling program works to ensure no one faces the challenges of aging alone. Specially-trained volunteer counselors provide weekly visits to adults age 55+ to help manage transitions and life changes such as health concerns, mobility issues, caregiver needs, and grief. Special care is taken to connect participants with someone who shares similar life-experiences and perspectives, with programs offered in languages such as English, Mandarin, Spanish, and Tagalog, and to participants who identify as LGBTQ.
