MS WORKSHOP
School of Planning and Architecture, Bhopal hosted a hands-on Mild Steel Workshop. This workshop equipped students with essential welding and fabrication skills, fostering creativity, and promoting practical knowledge in metallurgy and engineering. A design brief was given and students were supposed to design the main gate shed accordingly. Out of all the submissions, our group design was chosen and executed. In this 3-day workshop, all the interested students and faculty showed their enthusiasm which made the project possible. The project was completed in the expense of provided budget.

RENAO BAMBOO WORKSHOP
A hands-on bamboo workshop was conducted in Pune by former college students, in December 2022. It was a 7-day workshop in which everyone created a Mobius strip out of bamboo and PVC pipes. This allowed us to learn more about bamboo, it’s functioning, and its characteristics. This bamboo pavilion that we designed was exhibited in the Constro 2023 exhibition held in Pune, Maharashtra.
By using bamboo as a structural member we made a Mobius strip. These members were joined using a PVC pipe and nut bolts. By heating up the pipe putting it on one end of the member and drilling a hole for a nut bolt. This nut bolt joinery provided essential strength and stability to the Mobius strip pavilion.
41
STRUCTURAL DETAILS : Bamboo color coded with red has diameter 2 inches (50.8 mm). This red frame needs more support because they are cantilevered, and all the load gets transferred to the blue and yellow frame. To make it as lightweight as possible small dia steel pipes bamboo are provided. Bamboo color-coded with blue and yellow has a diameter of 4 inches (101.6 mm). As the red frame is supported by these 2 frames, the chances of breaking or bending are more, so these frames are half uplifted and the other half is fixed on the ground with the help of clamps. Because of this, the extra weight gets transferred to the green frame. Bamboo color coded with green has a diameter 6 inch (152.4 mm). This frame carries more load as compared to other frames.
