Located in the wildlife reserve of Bandipur, Dhole’s Den is an eco-friendly natural resort, with its own windmill, water recycling and waste treatment. Most of the lectricity is generated by a windturbine and solar cells. The kitchen waste is turned into bio gas and waste water is used for the vegetable garden. Here, the wild animals of the park are close enough to be even heard. Friends of Dhole’s Den, It has been our constant endeavour at Dhole’s Den to promote creativity in any aspect. Dhole’s Den from its very inception as an ‘Idea’ has strived to be a place for creative minds. Be it in art, architecture, literature or photography, we take pride in saying: Come, Dream, Create!

Some years ago a young man called Pavithra Kumar, a hotel management graduate was initiated into bird-watching and he followed his dream with passion. His love for birds, I am sure gives a sense of purpose and fulfillment to his life. We take pride in showing you the birds that are in Bandipur and especially ‘residents’ at Dhole’s Den. You will be amazed at the variety that the environs of Dhole’s Den have to offer to a person who wants to and has the patience to wait to see these wonderful winged creatures. There are many animals in the national park on which volumes have been written and large crowds drive every weekend to get a glimpse of the elusive cat. But lest we forget the fact remains that not just the tiger, leopard and the elephant are worthy of mention, the birds are something we take and grasp in our hearts as we in our lives strive for beauty and perfection on our ‘Flights of fancy’. These colourful and sometimes tiny creatures remind us how empty our universe would be if we didn’t have the birds and we were left with only the wildcats, dogs and for that matter elephants to look at and listen to…

A morning would be a lesser morning.

Committed to this spirit,we have come up with a bird book for you, friends of Dhole’s Den. Enjoy the creatures, connect with them and rejuvenate in the creativity this booklet brings to you.

Located in the wildlife reserve of Bandipur, Dhole’s Den is an eco-friendly natural resort, with its own windmill, water recycling and waste treatment. Most of the lectricity is generated by a windturbine and solar cells. The kitchen waste is turned into bio gas and waste water is used for the vegetable garden. Here, the wild animals of the park are close enough to be even heard.
