ANGANWADI Swaamitv is a strategy guidelines with the vision to ensure ownership values by the Anganwadi Workers (AWWs). Swaamitv enables Real Time Monitoring System (ICT-RTM) for improving the infrastructure system and ensuring better supervision of schemes by deploying the Common Application Software (CAS) solution covering all Anganwadi Centers (AWCs). This monitoring system is part of the common application software named ICDS-CAS available in the smart phone provided to AWWs. In the context of Anganwadi services, Swaamitv shall help in achieving the following objectives: • Improvement in efﬁciency and effectiveness of Anganwadi Centres by embedding tools pertaining to infrastructure strategies, Progress monitor for the AWC and Communication and sharing platform for the AWC Worker, helpers and other stakeholders. • Individual AWC tracking and monitoring • Automated progress chart generation • Automation of ICDS registers; • Monitor timeliness of the overall AWC functions • Provide reports and dashboards based on real time information and alerts to various stakeholders for prompt action and decision making. • Create ownership qualities for the AWC worker and helper This manual is designed to help Anganwadi Workers use the MY AWC feature for the implementation of strategies and monitor progress.

Your AWC building and boundary wall Is your AWC walls painted ? • One’s ﬁrst impression of an AWC can be that of having a signage board mentioning the name of the AWC. • Wall grafﬁti add colours to the space making it colourful and bright. This engages children and the community.

Your AWC walls • All AWC should have the vital poster and nutrition charts. • Posters for the child placed in a way that allows pace for the wall blackboard to be used as well view charts for learning. • The posters for information for the adults placed at a height, however in the same location allows visibility. • Running black boards. These gives children space to be creative without damaging the walls or ﬂoor.

Your AWC furnitures, ﬁttings and equipments • Space for the AWC worker to sit and teach. • Collaborative space for children to sit and learn. • Posters with eye level for children. • Storage space to segregate items and store effectively. • Colourful fun space helps with overall development of the children. • Lights and fans for the AWC space.

Interactive materials and games for children • Walls can have artworks or stickers to add fun element to the space. • Games and toys for the AWC • Low round tables provide space and support for kids to write draw paint and collaborate. • This kind of seating arrangement allows children to interact. Also easier to keep a watch. • Interactive mats allow spaces to sit and play.

• Small storage space for children to keep their stationary items.

• Space for the ASHA worker to sit and work. • Open space with visitor chairs and storage stools to sit. • Cupboard to store important documents and other equipments. • Storage for supplements and dairy products. • Weighing scale. • Posters informative for pregnant mothers.

Your AWC kitchen and Water • Shelves and cabinets segregated to store different items. • Nutrition products and supplements, Utensils, Excess items. • Water ﬁlter and container for all needs to be present. • Mid day meals stored in safe hygenic spaces. • Loft space for excess packaging materials instead of storing in the kitchen or work space.

Your AWC toilet and handwash area • Washroom with simple signages. • Incase of one, generic signage can be used. • Does your AWC have a Dustbin to dispose waste. • Tap for hand washing area incase AWC does not have a washbasin. • Plants can be kept around the area, tendency of littering around these area reduces.

Monthly progress report of AWC • The MPR List module displays the monthly progress of the Anganwadi Centre. • The tracker gives the data of the AWC space in respect to the implementation of the mentioned strategies. • This module helps the Aanganwadi worker and helper to track the progress of their AWC over a period of time. • The module shall also create ownership area for the workers and helpers. • Good progress and maintaining a good AWC will result in incentives and recognition, hence, creating a constant feedback loop for the AWC progress system.
