LOOKING TOWARD APRIL The two-part documentary Benjamin Franklin from Ken Burns explores the life of this epoch of revolutionary change in science, technology, literature, politics, and government.

Before We Die is a six-part thriller featuring nail-biting action and a unique twist about a tough police officer, Hanna Svensson, whose highly developed sense of right and wrong is more powerful than any family tie. It’s adapted from the hit Swedish series of the same name.

rairie Public’s education staffers are preparing for a productive, creative, and instructive year. This spring, we’re collaborating with the North Dakota Council of Teachers of English and local universities to host a professional development course for area

educators focusing on the tools and technologies of teaching media literacy and production. We’re also preparing for several “Literacy Day” events in North Dakota schools. There’s more! Sign up for our new blog for educators, Rhizome, at prairiepublic.org/education to follow the action.

NPR is inviting students grades 5-12 to create a podcast, then—with the help of a teacher—compete for a chance to win the grand prize and have their work heard on NPR. Check out the official rules, submission guidelines, and more at npr.org. Submissions are due March 21!
