PAYMENT: Payment must be made following the sale by all buyers. An invoice will be mailed to all purchasers following the sale. Payment can be made by cash, cheque or e-transfer. I have worked with RSK Farms for many years providing nutritional consulting with their cow herd, replacement female program and their Bull Development Program. Bull Development is a high priority at RSK, ensuring the bulls are developed to the best of their ability without over doing it. Growth and performance, body condition, hair, structural soundness, and reproductive development, are some of the hi-lites we aim for when designing a bull program. We want to stay away from over condition bulls that break down, are not fertile, and just don’t get the job done. These bulls only cost you a lot of money! At RSK over the years we have seen changes in their development process. From self feeders and hay feeders to incorporating higher quality forages and less grain. Silage bales, top quality hay, oats and a custom bull development product is the direction RSK uses to develop their bulls. We sample and test on farm ingredients using the nutritional values of the ingredients and then design the program with a custom Bull Development Product to meet the protein and energy requirements of the program. This program is designed and balanced using the Cargill Beef Max Ration Balancing Program. This product fills the nutritional gaps the ingredients have and we enhance the program balancing proteins, amino acids, energy ,fiber levels, micro and macro minerals and vitamins. RSK also sees the value using Diamond V NaturSafe in this product to enhance gut health, immunity and a better absorption of nutrients. We know this helps with reproductive development for the bulls as well.

Vaccinations: Pyramid 5 plus Presponse as an aid in the prevention of disease caused by IBR, BVD Types 1&2, PI3 and BRSV, and as an aid in reduction of severity of pneumonic pasteurellosis caused by Mannheimia haemolytica. We welcome you to the 9th Annual RSK RAF Elite Genetics Online Bull Sale. The decision to move this year’s sale offering to an online only bidding platform was based on the fewer numbers that we have this year. We are pleased to be working with Farm Gate Timed Auctions on DLMS.ca and excited to have Scott and the Bohrson Marketing Service team involved in this year’s event. They have been through the bull pen and will be available to answer any questions about the bulls.

We are thrilled with this years Hereford and Angus bulls and the strength of this years pen. We are continuously building, raising and acquiring new genetics to build the quality of the RSK and RAF programs. Our emphasis is on breeding well rounded, balanced offspring based on quality genetics that promote improved structure, muscle pattern and efficiency. Our bulls are raised on a high forage ration with a Cargill pelleted supplement in order to promote longevity and do-ability. Being in Manitoba you can be assured of the toughness and hardiness of our bulls. They are forced to endure many extreme highs and lows in their environment. This we cannot control. One thing we can control is how we make breeding and management decisions in order to insure that we are getting the best production out of our herds, and that starts with the right bull.

RSK FARMS

According to research information, the use of one sire line over another can make a difference of $100 to $150 in return per animal on feed. In many commercial beef herds, replacement females are selected from the herd’s annual calf crop. Bulls, to which those females will be bred, are purchased from outside seed stock growers. If you take the average calf from within a herd and look at it genetically, the sire provides half the genetics and the dam the other half. This means that the dam’s father provides 25 percent of that calf’s genetic material, and the dam’s grandfather provides another 12.5 percent. Simple mathematics illustrates that 87.5 percent of that calf’s total genetic makeup comes from three bulls that have been selected by the beef producer to work in the herd. Those three bulls have a huge effect on how that calf will perform while on its mother, in the feedlot, hanging on the rail, and eventually, in the hands of the consumer. It becomes clear that sire selection is the main tool available to a rancher to continually improve the genetic performance of a herd.

Double Down has lot to offer; structure and movement; he puts it together perfect. A big solid foot, great skeleton and very fluid in his movement. This skeleton carries so much mass, muscle and shape. The amount of meat and muscle is tremendous. He is soggy made, deep hipped and big topped. 30H is also attractive looking and well balanced, big goggles, pigment, freckles and big red testicles. RSK 173D Ka-Ching ET 86K is one of the most impressive individuals in the 2023 bull pen. His dam Ms Braxton 031A smacked it out of the park with this Endure 173D son. I don’t think you can make a herdsire this complete. Ka-Ching 86K is an example of perfect structure, body, length and style, well rounded and very balanced. Big googles and short marked, one should really take some time to analyze this guy, even his stats are impressive. Big balanced numbers and indexing 109 on WW and 103 on YW. Use Ka-Ching to add some pounds and performance to your calves.

“Command” has been an eye catcher since the day he was born. The minute he arrived we knew this calf was special. He puts everything together so well, right from phenotype to genotype. Command possesses a massive hip, loin and testicles wrapped in a structural package that is hard to beat. His movement and fluidity are unmatched by many with everything planted on a big solid foot. Command completes the package with beautiful balance and appeal, great extension in his front with a skull and shoulder structure that makes me feel comfortable in using him on heifers.

Genetically, Command is jam packed with greatness. His sire, Endure is one of the most talked about Homozygous Polled performance bulls to surface in some time. He was the high selling bull at NJW for $150,000 and semen has sold at auction for as high as $750. From a young age CJBH 91H Prince 23K was one to keep an eye on! He expressed so much hip and stoutness with an eye appeal many cattleman appreciate. Pit Boss came to us in perfect breeding condition and worked really hard naturally breeding a bunch of straight Angus 3 year old cows for us. We had a pile of confidence in the bull and also ai’ed him to 30 Angus heifers. He has calved with absolute ease and we haven’t had to assist one. Hello fellow cattle producers. We are primarily a commercial cattle operation that makes use of both AI and ET to improve our herd. With the kids getting older, they own their own Purebred Angus & Polled Hereford cows and are working on expanding their herd. We have been focusing on making females that will work well in our native grass pasture. These two breeds do that and make a great cross with each other. While we had hoped for females out of these embryos, the bulls have turned out pretty darn good. We would gladly use either one of these bulls on our replacement heifers or second time calvers. Both of these guys were tie broke and worked with in the fall when we were halter breaking heifer calves. We are pleased to be able to offer them for your consideration.
