It is our great pleasure to welcome you to our second Annual Bull Sale. With a tough 2019 in the rear view, I think there were times we questioned if we would even make 2020. Mother Nature pushed us to our limits throughout the past year, but I can honestly say it was our cattle that prevailed and excelled in the tough conditions. With one of our wettest summers on record, from rutting our hay feilds to leaving over 2000 acres of crop out, our pastures thrived and we had a very successful grazing year. The cattle had a fantastic summer and weaned some of our heaviest calves to date. Some would call that the “silver lining” and the benefits of running a mixed farming operation. The struggles and stresses we all overcome to make it to the next year can be daunting but shows how resilient the ag community can be. It truly always is a “next year” mentality and we are happy to welcome 2020 and all of you to this years bull sale.

This years offering of bulls, has about as much depth and variety while maintaining a very strong and athletic presence. The long yearlings saw the brunt of our late fall, as we were so busy trying to salvage our crops, to give them any extra attention. But that being said they came off grass in their true lean pasture condition and we really admired their natural muscling ability and soundness. Now that we have them in the yard on a TMR ration, watching them bloom and mature into herdsires has been very rewarding and we are very excited about them as a group. A very neat mix of horned and polled fullbloods and some very attractive reds. If your looking to stretch your bull power look to these big fellas to compete in larger groups of cows, bigger pastures and do some serious breeding.

The winter born pen of yearling bulls is one of the most genetically unique groups to sell, as we A.I the January cows extensively as well as use many of our own walking sires. Its always nice to compare bulls we own up against leading industry A.I. bulls, or old school proven herdsires, and infuse exciting new crosses on some of our top producing females.

This pen includes some big performance bulls that will increase weaning weights, maternal powerhouses to make you top quality females, a mix of calving ease and so much more. The possibilities are endless whether it be red, black or fullblood, horned or polled. These young bulls have a tonne of paternal and maternal power behind them and we look forward to what they can do for you in your cow herds.

A neat mix of calving ease and performance, Rock N Roll comes to us from a heifer we bought from Brads family in Manitoba, Big Sky Simmentals at the Keystone Konnection sale. This good tempered, tidy uddered female did a fantastic job weaning this calf and he’s not missed a beat since.

TERMS: The terms of the sale are cash, cheque, and wire transfers, payable at par at the sale location unless satisfactory payment arrangements have been made prior to the sale with seller, buyer and Bohrson Marketing Services. Bohrson Marketing Services reserves the right to require a certified cheque as settlement before releasing any sale cattle. Payment in full must be made before cattle can be released and shipped. Exchange rates will be announced sale day and the sale will be held in Canadian funds.

BIDDING: All animals to sell through the sale must be sold by auction with each animal selling to the highest bidder. Private sales will not be allowed except as otherwise provided for in the terms and conditions. No by-bidding will be permitted.

DISPUTES: In cases of disputes, bidding will be reopened between the parties involved in the dispute. If no further bid is made, the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid and the auctioneer’s decision will be final.

Commercial Bred Heifers

3 GROUPS OF 5 COMMERCIAL HEIFERS With another big breeding year around KSL we are excited to offer another excellent group of 15 bred females. These females are right from the heart of our commercial herd. They are sound made, easy keeping Simmental females. Some with a bit of either Hereford or Angus cross in them. They were all run as a group out on pasture and exposed to easy calving Polled Hereford and Red Angus bulls. Exposed from July 10th, till the middle of September. These females are not pampered and will be in their working clothes just like our own. We appreciate these girl for the true beef cattle they are and they have been managed and raise to work. We keep them athletic and in good body condition but not too fat, to allow them to calve out on pasture come april/may on their own. With calving as many cows out on pasture as we do, these girls have been selected to be highly maternal, good uddered and hopefully raise quality calves with very little help from their new owners.

We look forward to seeing what they can do in your herds.

LIABILITIES: All persons attend the sale at the their own risk.

CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRY: A registration certificate issued by the applicable breed association and a certificate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer of each animal after final payment has been made.

PREGNANCY INFORMATION: All bred females have been pregnancy examined by an accredited veterinarian,

who has provided the seller with an estimated length of gestation. The estimated gestation period shall be used only as a guideline to calving and is not a guarantee of actual service. Bohrson Marketing Services will provide supplement sheets with breeding services provided for the purchaser.

HEALTH: All sale animals have met all necessary health requirements and it is the buyer’s responsibility and expense to determine health requirements for importing any animal into his province or state. SHIPPING: Shipping of cattle, semen and/or embryos are the responsibility and expense of the purchaser.
