WELCOME Wow, what a year it has been since last writing one of these! There have been many changes in our world over the last 12 months. In times like these we like to look for consistency. The things that have stayed consistent are, people need to eat, people are still willing to pay a premium for beef and solid consistent Gelbvieh genetics will yield solid and consistent return on your investment. JSJ is driven to provide you with these genetics. For 14 years now, we have focused on highly maternal and thrifty genetics. On the maternal side we focus on udder structure, foot and leg structure and percentage of body weight weaned. As for thrifty, our cows must perform in many different scenario’s. Over the years our herd has been wintered on bale grazing, swath grazing, full TMR and are currently running on standing corn. Those that could not hack it were culled. The result is an easy keeping animal, that will do well in many different environments.

We have partnered with DLMS this year to bring you the online portion of what we like to call, our Hybrid Sale. It is a hybrid between a private treaty, off the farm sale and a live auction. When you log in to our sale you will see the prices for the bull clearly marked, just like private treaty. The difference is the online bidding component ensures equal opportunity for everyone on every bull. All bulls have a 50K genetic panel and are sire verified.

New to the sale this year is, the opportunity to win your bull! We have had very good success, in the past, marketing our bulls all over Canada and into the US with our sight unseen guarantee. We do our best to represent the bulls by picture and video, but nothing is quite as good as seeing it with your own eyes. So, we have decided to offer an incentive. If you tour the bulls, before the close of the online sale and purchase a bull, your name will go in the draw to win the value of the opening bid on that lot. TERMS & CONDITIONS

JSJ LIVESTOCK GUARANTEE: Because of the online format, we guarantee all sight unseen purchases with a no questions asked return policy. Bid with confidence. We guarantee to provide a sound breeding bull capable of passing semen test at 14 months of age. All bulls meet Canadian Health standards, will be semen tested and have a vet examination. Any bull failing to be a satisfactory breeder will be replaced with a bull of equal value and quality, or a credit given towards purchase of another bull.

TERMS & CONDITIONS: No payments are made online. An invoice will be e-mailed to all buyers by JSJ Livestock following the sale. Full payment due upon receipt unless other terms are agreed upon prior to the sale. U.S. funds will be accepted at the current rate of exchange. Payment will be accepted by e-transfer or cheque. Once full payment is received registration papers will be transferred and bulls will be delivered.

DELIVERY: JSJ Livestock offers free delivery to central location in MB, SK & the U.S. border.

Cost share to all other points in the U.S. & Canada, at the sellers convenience and the buyers risk. If you choose to leave your bull with us after March 19th there will be a $5 per head per day charge.

This guy has been the crowd favorite all year long. Out of the great DSL Zap 15Z. Sired by now deceased TIP Mr. Crane 10C. This bull has it all, length of spine, spring of rib, clean shoulder, dark red and all in a flawless structure. The Zap cow has two daughters in our herd and one, JSJ 32G, that was purchased at the first Function & Finesse sale by Jace Cattle Company. As for bulls, she is the mother of JSJ Crush 8C. Crush was Grand Champion at Ag Ex in Brandon as a calf and then went on to herd sire duties here and at Overby Stock Farms. Crush is still extremely sound on an excellent set of feet.

This dark red future herd sire will work well on heifers.

We had two bulls last year that were quite young at sale time. They were very good, out of two of our top cows. When they didn’t sell we decided to let them grow up a little and put them in again this year. If you are looking for a bull that will cover more cows the first year, these guys are for you. Both of our two year olds are sired by Crush, adding extra rib shape and volume. PG 13 Gringo’s mother has a bull in the sale again this year. Showing off her consistency and productivity.

Galveston is out of SLC 1E, who was one of the high selling females at the Wishlist Sale that year. This young cow has done good things and has a bright future here.
