SHINING STAR: EMILY BEAMON
E
mily Beamon is a true example of what the Weld County Fair and 4-H program are all about — dedication, leadership, and a passion for serving others. A graduate of Eaton High School, Emily spent 11 years as a member of the Galeton 4-H Club, where she was actively involved in a wide variety of projects including cake decorating, clothing construction, artistic clothing, breeding beef, home design and décor, and even sport fishing. Her willingness to try new things and fully invest in her projects reflects the well-rounded experience 4-H strives to provide. During her time in 4-H, Emily served as her club’s president and quickly became a role model for younger members. Today, she continues to give back as a 4-H Cake Decorating leader, a role she has held for the past four years. She has also dedicated countless hours to supporting the Weld County Fair through cake decorating workshops, interview judging days, helping members prepare for fashion review, and assisting with indoor project set-up and tear-down. Now a Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) teacher at Briggsdale School, Emily carries the lessons she learned through 4-H into her classroom every day. She credits the fair and her 4-H experience with teaching her the importance of hard work, community service, and building connections. “4-H and the county fair taught me to serve others and showed me how much small actions can make a big difference,” Emily shares. Her journey has been supported by strong influences along the way, especially her parents, Amy and Bryan Hogsett, along with impactful leaders such as Pat Kindvall, Michelle Langston, and Kathy Hettinger — all of whom helped shape her experience and passion for 4-H. When asked about her favorite fair memories, Emily reflects on the moments that made the experience special — getting ready for fashion review with friends, watching others from the balcony, time spent in the barns, and enjoying traditions like Mardi Gras with family. And, of course, no fair memory would be complete without her favorite: a trip to the Country Lemonade stand. Emily’s continued involvement, leadership, and heart for serving others make her a truly deserving recipient of this year’s Weld County Fair Shining Star recognition.

Howdy everyone! My name is Addison Tellez, and I am honored to serve as your 2026 Weld County Fair Queen. I am 16 years old and live in Greeley, Colorado, where I am proud to be a sixth-generation Weld County resident. I am currently a sophomore at Roosevelt High School, where I am an active member of FFA and participate in horse judging. Through my academic and extracurricular commitments, I have earned honor roll recognition. I have been a part of the Weld County Fair for three incredible years, and it has given me memories I will cherish forever. One of my favorites is the 4-H dance, where my friend Tessa and I swing danced to every single song—it was truly a night to remember and a perfect example of the fun, love, and support the fair brings to our community. My favorite event at the fair is the annual barrel race in the arena. Watching those riders “turn and burn” is so exciting and inspiring! I am a proud member of the Horse Whisperers 4-H Club, where I serve as President. This year, I have taken on a variety of projects including horse, scrapbooking, photography, leathercraft, buymanship, veterinary science, and home decor. It still feels unbelievable that just a year ago I was running for this title, and now I have the honor of representing Weld County. I have dreamed of being a rodeo queen since I was little, and I wish I could tell my younger self—we did it! I am so grateful to
represent the largest county in Colorado while being surrounded by such a supportive and welcoming community. One of my biggest goals is to inspire others to step out of their comfort zones and try new things. At the beginning of my journey, I was nervous to even say my name in front of a crowd, and now I truly enjoy public speaking. I hope to encourage others to believe in themselves and reach for the stars. Looking ahead, I have big plans for the future. I hope to attend the University of Wyoming, where I plan to major in Animal Science with an emphasis in breeding and genetics, along with a minor in equine management and business. I also dream of becoming a realtor and owning my own boarding and training facility for horses. While in college, I plan to join a ranch horse team and continue working with horses. After college, I will be working toward my goal of becoming Miss Rodeo Colorado. If you’re at the fair, I highly recommend grabbing a “Mark Out” from Buck n Bean—it’s the best coffee around! And don’t forget to try the dehydrated mango from Mountain Man Nut & Fruit Company. As I reflect on this incredible year, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to my grandparents, Daniel and Anna, for their constant support and encouragement every step of the way. I am also deeply grateful to our Weld County Fair Royalty sponsors for supporting such an amazing organization, and to our wonderful committee—Pat, Katrina, Mikayla, Aaron, and Cheryl—for making me feel so welcomed and supported from day one. I am truly honored to represent both my Princess and Queen titles, and I could not have done it without all of you. I wish you all the best of luck at the fair! on my 10th year in 4H with Calico N Jeans. Through 4H I participate in many projects such as Foods and nutrition, model rocketry, food preservation, CWF, and breeding rabbits and Dairy cattle to name a few. I am currently the Vice President of my 4H club. My most proud achievements in 4H that I received is Grand Champion for model rocketry, Senior Showmanship Champion, Premier Exhibitor Champion, and I received the Herdsman Award. I'm very active in FFA. I'm on my
3rd year with Roosevelt FFA where I show market swine and currently on the board as the Reporter. Some of my FFA achievements include qualifying for State for Conduct of Chapter Meeting, Quiz bowl & Parliamentary Procedure. I received the Star Green Hand Award, Discovery degree & Chapter Degree. I placed 2nd at the State contest for Dairy Judging, I'm part of the State Champion team, and competed at Nationals this year. I'm a Junior at Roosevelt High School where I am very driven have been on High Honor Roll for over 4 years, lettered academically & have 3 academic bars. I am a member of the National Honor Society. I lettered athletically with my school Track & Field team as a Varsity discus thrower. In my free time I enjoy time with friends and family, and playing with my animals I love putting a lot of time and energy into volunteering, especially with events that support Veterans such as Wreaths Across America and Honor Flight. I am excited represent Weld County again as Attendant and I’m looking forward to opportunities

Tessa Goodvin, Fair Attendant
Hello! My name is Tessa Goodvin, and I am honored to serve as your 2025–2026 Weld County Fair attendant. I am 15 years old and a sophomore at Eaton High School, where I am a member of the varsity cheer team. In addition, I am actively involved in both the
Eaton FFA chapter and Eaton FCCLA. I am also an 8-year member of the Small Town Critters 4-H Club, where I proudly serve as the club’s secretary. Through 4-H, I participate in Artistic Clothing, Scrapbooking, Home Décor, and I show market goats. One of my most cherished memories at the Weld County Fair was spending long days in the barns with friends and family, working hard with our animals and celebrating all the dedication that goes into each project. The fair has always been a place where I’ve grown, learned responsibility, and built lifelong friendships. My favorite fair food and drink has to be Buckin’ Beans chai, a classic funnel cake or basket of fresh-cut fries. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to represent the Weld County Fair and the amazing community behind it. I look forward to sharing my passion for agriculture and 4-H while helping create memorable experiences for others at the fair.
