At Ozo, you can not only get a plain-ass coffee if you’re boring, but you could also get pure liquid cacao or apple cider or 21 DIFFERENT EFFING TYPES OF MOCHA. Including, I might add, a mocha called the Van Halen, which is a dark chocolate, vanilla and hazelnut situation. I recommend their horcha-
ta latte if you can find it. And make sure your phone is charged and you’re logged in to Instagram, because Ozo’s baristas are more like bartistas amirite? (Heheheh). No seriously, they do pretty things with the pouring and the cream and the coffee art. It’s a nice way to feel special.

Follow the food trucks By Mitchell Byars Staff Writer ood trucks are all the rage these days, and Boulder is never a city to miss out on the hippest trends. So, on the odd occasion that you are tired of eating dorm food or ordering pizza or nuking ramen, I did some research on how you can enjoy some of Boulder’s finest mobile meals. Hard work, I know. The first thing you need to do if you want to become a food-truck aficionado is get on social media. Since food trucks are, you know, trucks, their schedule and locations can change from day to day. For some, the best way to track them is on Twitter and Facebook, like with Verde (southwestern food, including an awesome California burrito), the Arepa Joint (plantains are the best thing ever) and The French Twist Food Truck (French food, with a twist!). Trucks from page 20 a really good bet to have some sort of food truck hanging around most nights. Upslope Brewing in east Boulder and Gunbarrel Brewing and Beyond the Mountain Brewing just a bit north of the city are two locations that usually get visits from a food
truck in the evening. If you are looking for lunchtime food trucks, Flatiron Parkway off of 55th is also a hot spot for food trucks due to all the nearby businesses (including the Colorado Daily and Daily Camera, so say hi if you see me). And finally — I know it’s not really a food truck, because it is always in the

same location and it’s more of a cart — but I would be remiss if I did not mention the Gyro Stand down on Pearl Street, which opens up late at night at the 11th Street end of the walking mall. For the uninitiated, those frequented by CU alumni may still be the city’s tried and true late night joints for you. For the hardcore, we have Cosmos: settle up after a night of Hill debauchery and mow down on some oversized slices dipped into their patented “spicy ranch” concoction. Down the street, you can find Illegal Pete’s, a good spot for a bit of light beer and tacos in the witching hour. If more traditional restaurants aren’t your thing, you can mosey on over to a handful of late-night delis mixed with the “gas station” aesthetic over in Smelly Deli, or you can walk over a few blocks to its arch nemesis, Bova’s Pantry.

A guide to Boulder’s bars and craft beer By Madeline St. Amour Staff Writer f you’re a college student and over 21, finding the best bars in town is probably at the top of your to-do list. After the panic of midterms and before the encroaching terror of finals, nothing quenches nerves (and thirst) like a tall, cold glass of beer. Fortunately, good brews and good bars are not hard to find in Boulder, which has plenty of options for whatever you’re into.

If you’re looking for unique decor and craft beer, you have a few choices. First is Kettle and Spoke on 47th Street, a tiny nano-brewery that is located inside a company that designs bike and urban gear from recycled materials, #BecauseBoulder. Cellar West Artisan Ales on Lee Hill Drive in north Boulder is now open on more than just the weekends. This mod brewery specializes in oak-aged beers. Breweries, part II As you can expect, there are too many breweries in Boulder to contain in one group. The Post Brewing Co. has been open for nearly a year now on 13th Street, serving up the classic combo of fried chicken and beer. There’s also West Flanders Brewing Co. on Pearl Street, which has a full menu stuffed with delicacies like poutine and pot pie. It also offers happy hour pricing when the temperature falls below 20, which, I hate to break it to you, it will. If you want places that serve a wide variety of different craft brews on tap, be sure to check out FATE Brewing Co., Backcountry Pizza or the Rayback Collective if you are feeling espe-
cially hipstery. And of course, you can always get craft beer to go by mixing your own six-packs at Liquor Mart or Hazel’s Beverage World.
Drinks with a view Love the view of the mountains around Boulder but hate when buildings get in the way? Take it to the roof. Now, kids have it easy. As long as you’re the right age and in the right state, you have access to every strain and every marijuana product you could ever imagine. Not only that, but you know it’s regulated and unlikely to be laced with something you definitely were not expecting when you lit up your joint. With the passing of Amendment 64 in 2012, Colorado residents 21 or older (with a governmentissued ID) can legally possess 1 ounce of marijuana or THC. Out-of-state visitors and students 21 or older (with a

Pot from page 44 government-issued ID) can purchase up to a quarter ounce (source: coloradopotguide.com). There is one problem though: You need a place to legally smoke or eat it. You can’t light up outside the dispensary — or in any other public space, for that matter. The University of Colorado’s policy also says it’s illegal for anyone to have or use marijuana on campus in any form, even if it’s medical. So that means your dorm, the quad, the library bathroom are all out of the question. And most apartments off-campus probably prohibit it, too. But we have no doubt you’ll find a way. When you do, don’t drive high, or you’ll get a DUI. Most Boulder dispensaries close before 10 p.m., so plan ahead. Shoppers usually need to make the last purchase before 9:45 p.m. Two more tips before I tell you where to go make your first legal pot purchase: Do not take it across state lines and do not mail it to your friends back home unless you want to see what the inside of Boulder County Jail looks like. These generally fall into two categories, stimulants and other drugs, including barbiturates and depressants. On top of negative effects such as irritability and explosiveness, the use of stimulants such as Adderall as a study tool tend to make students overestimate how much they have actually accomplished. Those using stimulants tend to believe they are achievement-oriented and making progress on assignments when they actually are not, officials have said. Sleep has a big impact on memory, and stimulants can inhibit that dynamic, meaning users don’t learn as much as they believe they do. As for depressants, combining one — alcohol, for example — with another — such as prescription drugs

CU’s counselors have said the goal of programs offered to students is harm reduction, enabling students to
make decisions that will lead them toward success. Dailey said the programs, services and resources have a goal of teaching students to be safe. Services include educational workshops and trainings, early intervention classes, health supplies, and nicotine cessation support.
