Open & Golden Divisions

Open Fair Divisions are divided into an adult and a junior classification. Golden Age Division is open to individuals living in a health care facility or are 65 years old or older. Golden Age Exhibit categories include: Needlework of all kinds, Clothing, Spinning and Weaving, Crafts such as macrame, ceramics, porcelain dolls, etc. Open Classes include: Canned fruits and vegetables of all varieties; Baked Goods; Homemade Wines, Needlework; Open Fashion Revue; Quilting, Crafts, including macrame and ceramics, etc.; Gardening, Floriculture, and Fine Arts. For entry days and times, contact CSU Extension, 276-7390.

2016 4-H Market Livestock Sale & Barbecue SUNDAY, AUGUST 7, 2016 Buyers’ Barbecue begins at 3:00 p.m. in the Tent (Tickets may be purchased at entrance) Fair Board & Sale Awards at 4:00 p.m. in Show Arena Market Livestock Sale begins at 4:30 p.m.

Wednesday August 3 - Dairy Day

8 a.m.

• 4-H Building opens to the public.

9 a.m.

• Dog Show, Florence Baptist Church.

4-5 p.m.

• Dairy Day Activities, Fair Grounds.

6 p.m.

• Dairy Goat Judging followed by Dairy Cattle.

Thursday August 4

8 a.m. - 10 p.m.

• 4-H Building opens to the public.

8 a.m.

• 4-H Rabbit judging starts, Small Animal Barn. Rabbit Showmanship will follow. The public is welcome. • Equipment Rodeo will begin at Pathfinder Park. The public is welcome.

1 p.m.

• Poultry judging starts in Small Animal Barn.

1-4 p.m.

• Colorado Country Music Association artists will perform, Entertainment Stage. This event is free.

4:30 p.m.

• Livestock Weigh-in will begin.

6:30 p.m.

• 4-H Rocket Launch will start, Pathfinder Park. The public is welcome.

Dusk

• Free movie under the stars provided by Charter – Rodeo Grounds Arena.

Friday August 5 - Family & Celebrate Seniors Day

7:30-9 a.m.

• In honor of our Senior Citizens a complimentary breakfast of biscuits and gravy will be served to individuals over the age of 65 on a first come, first

served basis. The Beta Zeta Sorority & the Fremont County Fair Board sponsor the event. ~4-H Ambassadors will be available to visit with seniors & offer tours of the fair.

8 a.m.

• 4-H Building opens to the public. Senior Citizen Activities begin, Entertainment Tent.

9 a.m.

• Open Gardening entries will be accepted in the 4-H Building.

9:30 a.m.

Saturday August 6

8 a.m.-10 p.m.

• 4-H Building opens to the public.

9 a.m.

• Goat Showmanship Judging begins, Show Ring; Breeding & Market Goat Judging will follow.

9 a.m.-Noon

• Open Floriculture entries accepted in the 4-H Building.

12 p.m.

• Check in for Pee-Wee Rabbit Show will begin, Small Animal Barn.

• Colorado Country Music Association, Entertainment Tent.

• Kids’ Day Activities will begin; Fair Grounds. Children can visit educational booths & participate in games & other activities. • PeeWee Rabbit Show begins, Small Animal Barn.

• Floriculture Judging, 4-H Building, Judging is open to the public.

10 a.m.

10-2pm

• Dress a Bunny/Poultry immediately following the Pee-Wee Rabbit show. Family Day Activities at the Fair Grounds.

10:30-11:30am

• Pocket Pets Showcase, Entertainment Tent.

Noon

• “Lunch in a Jiffy”, Hot dog or peanut butter & jelly sandwich; drinks will be available - $2.50 each.

1 p.m.

• Open Gardening judging starts, 4-H Building. The public is welcome. • Colorado Country Music Association artists perform; Entertainment Tent. This event is free. • 4-H Sheep Showmanship, Show Ring, Market Sheep & Breeding Sheep classes will follow.

2 p.m.

• Watermelon eating contest starts, Entertainment Tent. Kids’ Day activities will close with this event.

5 p.m.

• Market Swine Showmanship, show ring, Market Swine classes will follow.

1 p.m.

4:30 p.m.

• 4-H Breeding Beef Show, Show Ring. 4-H Market Beef judging begins 30 minutes after completion of the Breeding Beef Judging. Beef Showmanship will follow.

Sunday August 7 - Buyers’ Day

7:30 a.m.-8 p.m.

• 4-H Building opens to the public.

7:30 a.m.

• Cowboy Church, Entertainment Tent.

9 a.m.

• Master Showmanship Competition: Show Ring. Reverse Showmanship will follow.

Noon

• Parade of Champions Award Ceremony, Entertainment Tent.

3 p.m.

• Buyers’ Barbeque, Entertainment Tent.

4 p.m.

• 4-H Family of the Year & other special awards will be presented, Show Ring.

4:30 p.m.

• 4-H Market Livestock Sale, Show Ring.

6-8 p.m.
