The Greeley and Evans area is a great place to raise a family with a variety of activities and programs for enrichment, entertainment and activity.

Col orado M odel R ail road M useum T his model train museum in downtown Greeley attracts visitors from all over America and the world. With over 600 railroad-related artifacts, the operating model railroad has been called “the finest model railroad I’ve ever seen” by the 30- year senior editor of Model Railroader magazine, Jim H ediger of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Included in the design are more than 16,000 tiny fir trees, 8,000 deciduous trees, 4,000 aspen trees, and more than 2,500 railroad cars. It took five and a half years and over 30,000 hours of volunteer labor to build.

Poudre Learning Center T he Poudre T rail is a 21-mile, paved and well-maintained trail that traverses central Weld County, from Island Grove Regional Park to Colo. 392 in Windsor, where it connects with another paved trail in Larimer County’s River Bluffs O pen S pace. T he trail is open to the public for walking, cycling, running, roller-blading and more. O n the west side of Greeley, the Poudre Learning Center educates the public about the ecosystem of the river and inspires environmental stewardship through field experiences and informational programs.

Corn mazes & p umpk in p atc hes Weld County features many corn mazes and pumpkin patches with fall festivals, kids activities and hayrides to get visitors in the H alloween spirit. T he Fritzler Corn Maze is Colorado’s original and premier corn maze offering bushels of farmtastic fun for young and old. Located just seven miles south of Greeley on U .S . 85. Experience the heart of Weld County at the historic T igges Farm, 12404 Weld Co. Rd. 64 1/2, about three miles north of Greeley. T igges Farm has been owned by the family since 1936.

Sc hool s Greeley-Evans S chool District 6 comprises 33 non-charter and charter schools with a 81.5% graduation rate above the state average. District 6 has 33 career pathways district-wide and in 2018 had 103 students named advanced placement scholars.

Lib raries Four of the seven regional libraries for the H igh Plains Library District are in Greeley and Evans. T he district provides weekly classes, programs and events for patrons of all ages. T he quantity and quality of the digital services of the library are continually increasing.

Boys & G irl s Cl ub s of Wel d County With after-school and summer programming for school-aged children and youth, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Weld County offer a safe place for kids to learn, play and grow. Programming focuses on academic success, character and leadership development, health and wellness, and fine arts.
