The Canon City Area Recreation and Park District is a special district established in 1965. The District currently owns and operates Rouse Park, John Griffin Regional Park, Old Harrison Park, Arkansas Riverwalk, Ropes Challenge Course, R.C. Icabone Swimming Pool, Arkansas Riverwalk Dog Park, Ash Street Community Garden, Schepp Open Space, and Eagle Wing Trailhead, and the Community Room, which is located within the main office. The District co-owns and operates Pathfinder Regional Park with Fremont County. Every year the Board of Directors and the District Staff strive to improve the programs and facilities offered to the community. All the programs and activities listed in this guide are designed to meet the recreational needs of the public.
