Entry forms will be printed in the Exhibitor’s Guide or can be picked up at the Extension Office. Forms must be filled out and signed by the contestant’s parents or legal guardians releasing the Fair Board from all responsibility.

Entries must be received by the Extension Office on or before July 9 by 5pm.

All rocks entered must be mature in body and form, free from defects and man-made or caused alterations, and must be 2 lbs, and under.

All contestants will be required to have rock in hand when registering, and rocks can’t be used for multiple contestants.

Rocks that are manmade or have caused alteration will be put into an unlimited highbred division.

Pet rocks entered in the Best Dressed Division may be dressed in man-made materials or decorative paints.

Pets entered in the Racing Division shall compete from a standing start and maintain a true course that does not impede the actions of other racers. The pet traversing the greatest straight line distance from Callie Jones / Sterling Journal-Advocate start to stop shall be the winner.

Judging will be done by qualified judges.

Appropriate container should be labeled with kind of wine and date.

Do not include exhibitor’s name.

Wines will be judged on taste and appearance.

It is the responsibility of the participant to classify the wine for judging.

Categories • Dry • Semi-Sweet (includes berries) • Dessert (includes sweets) • Novelty (anything but fruit) Appropriate wines should be chilled.

Each entry will be permitted two tickets for participation in the wine judging. Must be 21 years old to participate.

Cricketers (exhibitors) will be allowed to race one or two crickets.

If a cricketer chooses to race two, they must be raced as a single entry.

Cricket races will be started by placing the cricket in the center of a measured, circular race course. The cricket that escapes from the racing circle in the shortest time will be the winner. If a cricket fails to escape within two minutes the superintendents will determine the winners to be those crickets that are nearest to the escape line.

Cricketers will not be allowed to touch, prod or otherwise assist their crickets while the race is in progress.

40th Annual Friendly Dog Tail Wagging Contest

Superintendent: Leslie Dyson “The dog is man’s best friend.”

“Everybody loves a friendly tail wagging dog.” These are statements that few will dispute. However, who has taken time to fully appreciate and evaluate the wag of a friendly dog’s tail?

The contest will be held at the East end of the Pavilion. Dogs must be accompanied by their masters or handlers. They must keep their masters or handlers on leash, unless otherwise directed by the superintendent. Growling at the judges and spectators will be considered as contrary to the purpose and intent of the contest. Biting judges, spectators, or other contestants will be grounds for disqualification.

Contest is open to all dogs. There shall be no discrimination based on the contestant’s color, sex, size, pedigree, or origin. All dogs will compete in the same class. Bob-and notailed dogs will be recognized as handicapped, but will not be disqualified nor receive any special consideration.

Dogs must leave the fairgrounds immediately following the contest.

You must clean up after your dog(s).

Premium Awards will be given.

Contestants must have a project exhibit in competition in the 4-H/ FFA division of the Logan County Fair. In the event that the contestant’s 4-H/FFA projects are not in exhibit condition, their completedto-date project record book must be submitted to the record book superintendent. Record book must be signed by contestant’s project leader or chapter advisor.

Entries must be received on or before July 15, 2022.

Entry forms may be picked up at the Extension Office. Forms must be filled out and signed by contestant’s parents or legal guardians releasing the Fair Board from all responsibility.

Open Class Consumer Science General Rules 1. Entry Deadline is July 22 for classes requiring pre-entry.

2. All classes are open to the world.

3. All exhibits must have been made by the person entering them.

4. All entries may be made online at http://bit.ly/LoganCountyFairEntry (First time users will need to create a user name and password) or on the “Open Class Entry Blank” located in the Exhibitor’s Guide or at The Extension Office. The online entries and the “Open Class Entry Blank” must be received by the entry deadline at the Logan County Extension Office. All entries completed after the entry deadline will be charged a late fee of $1 per entry, not to exceed $5. The “late fee form” is available at the Extension Office after the entry deadline until fair.

5. Articles that have been previously exhibited at the Logan County Fair will not be eligible for entry again.

6. Each department will be governed by the general rules of the fair as well as the individual department rules for the exhibits.

7. In Open Class, at the request of the judge, new classes may be created if there are at least three different exhibitors with an entry for that class.

8. There is to be only one entry per class/per exhibitor except in Fine Arts.

No premium will be awarded if an exhibit is not worthy.

9. Entry age is “day of show.”

3. Exhibitors are limited to one set of three or fewer pieces per entry.

4. All articles must be labeled with the name and address of exhibitor on the article.

5. Prior entry is required. Late entries will be accepted only with payment of the required late fee.

6. All hobbies submitted for judging must be made by the exhibitor.

7. Superintendents, at the request of the judge, may create a new class if there are at least 3 different exhibitors with an entry for that class.

8. This department will be judged on merit. Merit must exist.

9. Exhibitors must be able to state what process was used in ceramics.

10. An entry in the Antique class consists of at least 3, but no more than 6, individual items. Exhibits will be judged on age, condition, display appearance, and neatness. Documentation of age or history of exhibit should be neatly written or typed on a sheet of typing paper for display with exhibit.

11. Entries should be picked up on Sunday afternoon between 1 and 2 p.m.

All exhibitors must have stubs to claim exhibits.

12. Lego projects require a display board.

Premium awards will be given.

2. All photos must be mounted or matted and ready to hang; otherwise they will be judged, but not displayed. Thick frames may not fit the display cases. Hot glue, self-stick adhesives and rubber cement may not hold up under fair conditions.

3. A picture may not be entered in both Departments O-C and O-E. 4. Exhibitors are limited to one entry per class. A single exhibitor can enter up to 5 classes (of which one may be a set class.) With photos larger than 8x10”, please consider entering the amateur class for Fine Arts.

Exhibit Rules: 1. Exhibits for junior crop show and horticulture division may be entered from 7:30-11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 4. Exhibits will be released between 1 and 2 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 7. This division is open to any resident of Logan County.

2. Logan County reserves the right to refuse any entry that has a serious disease or insect problem.

4. The Logan County Fair is not responsible for lost, damaged or dead items. Small items should be securely
