Furniture design transforms function into art. We are proud to present two designers who push these boundaries: Cas Moor from Belgium, whose work blends material understanding with a human approach to design, and Stefano Prevosti from Italy, known for combining traditional craftsmanship with modern technology.
M aterial
Muundo is crafted from a composition of minerals, lime and mortar. Each piece is handcrafted which makes it one of a kind design. The material is used for those who wish to combine technicality, originality, personality and aesthetics.
Used both for its technical qualities and its decorative advantages, it offers interior and exterior architectural projects a mineral appearance. Thanks to its thinness and impermeability, the material adapts to all shapes and surfaces, offering an incomparable look to your showers, floors, pools, stairs and furniture.The coating is manufactured in Belgium and is composed of 95% natural ingredients sourced in Europe.

Cleaning Instructions for Indoor tables:
Indoor tables require careful maintenance to prevent stains and damage. Always wipe up spills immediately using a damp cloth, mild soap, and a soft sponge. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaning tools that could compromise the protective finish. When placing or moving objects, be mindful of potential scratches, and always use coasters or placemats when necessary. The legs of the table are equipped with felt pads to protect your flooring. Ensure the table is placed on a clean, dry, and grease-free surface. If unsure, consult your flooring specialist for advice. When cleaning your floors, avoid leaving water or soap residues under the legs, as this may cause unwanted marks.

Our outdoor collection features a specialized finish designed to withstand outdoor conditions while maintaining its refined appearance. To ensure its longevity, regular maintenance is essential. Cleaning should be done using a soft sponge or cloth with mild soap and water, gently scrubbing the surface without using abrasive materials or harsh chemicals, which could damage the protective layer. When the table is not in use, it is advisable to cover it with a protective cover made for outdoor furniture. This helps shield it from direct sunlight, rain, dust, and other environmental factors, preserving its finish and extending its lifespan.

Care and Maintenance of Your Natural Table:
This table is made from natural materials that lend it its unique and beautiful characteristics. However, it is essential to note the following care guidelines to ensure its longevity. Each table you purchase from us is handcrafted, showcasing the dedication and artistry that goes into its creation. Owing to the manual process of its application, the table may exhibit small imperfections, such as imprints left during application or varying shades on its surface. These nuances are a testament to its handmade nature and add to its unique charm.
General maintenance:
Our tables are designed for easy upkeep, with protective layers that help repel most dirt. However, certain substances from daily use, such as coffee, wine, fruit juices, spices, lemon juice, and oils, should not be left on the surface for extended periods. Similarly, avoid leaving large amounts of water or wet objects on the table for too long. If not cleaned immediately, fats, dyes (such as those in wine or coffee), and other substances can penetrate the protective layers and cause stains. Extra caution is needed with highly pigmented foods like turmeric, beetroot, and flower pollen (especially from lilies), as these can leave stubborn marks. Always clean spills promptly using water, a cleaning agent, and a soft sponge—never the abrasive side, as this may scratch the surface.
To preserve the table’s appearance and durability, do not place candles directly on the surface; always use a holder or tray. Additionally, avoid placing hot pots or pans directly on the table to prevent thermal shock. The table should never be used as a cutting surface, and sharp or heavy objects should be handled with care to prevent damage.
UV & Patina: What to Expect
Sunlight’s ultraviolet (UV) rays gradually break down the natural pigments in any organic material. Because Muundo pieces are crafted with mineral-rich, plant-based ingredients, they behave much like other “living” outdoor products:
- Gentle lightening is expected.
As UV rays reach the surface, a small amount of colour pigment oxidises and the tone softens a shade or two. It’s a purely cosmetic change and does not affect strength or durability.
- The most exposed areas fade first
Just as the top of a teak table lightens before the sheltered legs, horizontal or sun-facing planes on a Muundo table or bench will show the change sooner than undersides or vertical faces.
- The colour evens out over time
As the season progresses, all sides receive comparable UV exposure. The initial contrast between lighter tops and deeper-toned legs gradually diminishes, leaving a uniform, softly weathered patina across the whole piece.
Regular cleaning and rotating furniture occasionally can help the patina develop evenly, but some mellowing is inevitable—and, for many, part of the natural charm that gives Muundo’s outdoor collection its character.
