PQA CAMBRIDGE RETURNS TO
THE WEST END! We are absolutely delighted that we have been selected to perform at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London’s West End in May 2019!
autumn term! Cambridge AM is performing on 12th May 2019, and PM on 26th May 2019. Tickets will be on sale around six weeks before the show and will be made available to parents This marks PQA Cambridge through our website. AM’s fourth performance at Her Majesty’s Theatre, and will be PQA Cambridge PM’s debut at this amazing venue!
DEAR PARENTS,
Not many children can say that they have performed on the stage where Phantom of the Opera takes place every day (except when we’re there of course!) All of our students from ages 6 to 18 will be performing at this prestigious venue next May. The show is called Trouble’s A Brewin’, a musical comedy that follows Sheriff Trifle and her gang in the Wild West, and this performance is going to be our biggest West End Show to date! THE NEW GENERATION OF WEEKEND DRAM
WHO WE ARE PQA Cambridge is a performing arts Academy for ages 6-18 in the centre of Cambridge. We have two sessions, AM and PM, which run from 10am-1pm and 2pm-5pm on Saturdays. We have been operating for ten years in Cambridge, and we pride ourselves in offering young people around Cambridge the best opportunities in the performing arts. Our ethos is “Be Yourself, Be Amazing” and we believe this to the core. Everyone is unique and we make it our mission to bring out the amazing in every child we teach. STUDENTS TO PERFORM AT
G4 CONCERT We are thrilled to announce that our Academy has been selected to perform on stage with X Factor finalists G4 this Autumn!
Not only will our students have the chance to sing live on stage in their fantastic Christmas tour, but they will be doing so at the world famous Ely Cathedral! This is an exclusive opportunity only for PQA Cambridge students and will be a magical way to welcome Christmas. Tickets to the concert are already sold out, and a maximum of 80 students will be selected to take part in the show which takes place on Tuesday 20th November 2018!
MA SCHOOLS FOR AGES 4 TO 18 YEARS FIRST (AND SECOND) TRINITY OUR CINEMA SCREENING! On Saturday 30th June all of our students will be taking part in Trinity College London Exams! Every year we offer exams as a little bonus for our students, on top of the amazing stuff they do every week, at no extra cost to our parents! They have all worked hard this year and are taking part in Musical Theatre Group exams which are a step up from the performance exams we participated in last year.
Last December, students from PQA Cambridge AM were fortunate enough to watch the films they had been making on the big screen!

EDINBURGH? This year we held our incredible Disneyland trip, but we have also had a lot of interest in the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Thank you to those who have already expressed an intereste this year and as a result we are considering running a Fringe trip in Summer 2019 for students aged 16+ (watch this space..!)

In December 2017, our students were invited to a cinema screening of their own films and it was a fantastic success! We had the full red-carpet treatment and were dressed up to the nines for our exclusive and exciting movie premiere! It was great to finally see all the hard work come to life on the big screen and we aim to recreate the magic in December 2018 for our PM Academy students! Many of the films are available to watch on www.pqatv.com - our own dedicated online PQA TV Channel. Some of the movies have been held back from the public to enter some film festivals...fingers crossed! The films made by Jonnie and the creative direction of Nick over the past year have been incredible and we can’t wait to see what comes next!

F Last Christmas both our AM and PM Academies were invited to perform on stage in the city centre to celebrate the big Christmas Lights switch-on! Students wowed the huge audiences with their musical theatre work and we’re dead set on performing there again this year!
PQA’S GOT
TALENT
In February we hosted an amazing talent competition raising over £300 for charity! Savanna, our Musical Theatre teacher, ran the London Marathon this year and raised a whopping £1,300 for the cancer charity Yes To Life. Our amazing parents and students supported this by coming to watch our very own PQA’s Got Talent! Well done to Millie who won the competition with her own piano and vocal composition! We were so proud and grateful for the students who gave up their time to perform in aid of this event and because they impressed us so much we will definitely be holding another competition soon!

PRESTIGIOUS NATIONAL FILM
FESTIVAL!
This year, we took part in two separate 4-Week Film Challenges, both of which were a phenomenal success! Jonnie, our Film & TV teacher, and Nick our Comedy & Drama teacher worked very hard for four consecutive weeks devising, writing, directing, shooting, editing and producing two outstanding films in September and then again in January! The challenge was accepted! First by
our Red group (PM) who were given the following stimuli: Costume: Red Football Socks Line: “Did I say that out loud?” Prop: Bear Costume Theme: Star-Crossed Lovers The film, entitled Heart & Soul was sent to the judges... Then in January, we embarked on the second challenge with our Red group (AM) who were challenged with the following:
Costume: Leopard print jacket Line: “It was the colour of a goblin.” Prop: Wooden Spoon Theme: Inclusivity and Extra Curricular was born... Both films were highly commended, and Extra Curricular won overall nationally with a screening taking place at Empire Cinema in London’s Leicester Square this autumn! Well done everyone!
