Native Plants of Colorado
Tue., April 5 | Noon Irene Shonle from Colorado State University (CSU) Extension Office shows and discusses Colorado’s wealth of native plants, colorful wildflowers, grasses, shrubs, and trees, which are naturally adapted to our variable climate, soils, temperatures, and elevations. Native plants are great for landscaping because of their adaptability.

Create an easy macrame plant hanger with basic knots in just five minutes! We will provide the instructions and all the materials you need.

Learn to Sew: Farmer's Market Totes
Interested in learning how to sew? Learn the basics of using a sewing machine, including threading, filling a bobbin, and executing basic stitches, as we create custom tote bags. All materials will be provided. This class is intended for those who have little to no experience with machine sewing. Please bring reading glasses or "cheaters" if needed. Take and makes are available the first Friday of every month at all Library locations.

Monthly 3D Printer Badging
3D printing is an amazing technology that lets you print custom designs out of plastic! After completing this class, you will be able to use the 3D printer on your own during open hours at our makerspaces. For ages 9+.
CNC Badging
PPLD's ShopBot Desktop CNC is a computer-controlled mill, router, and drill all in one that lets you make your own projects with wood or acrylic. After completing this class, you will be able to use the CNC on your own during open hours at Library 21c. For ages 16+.
Introduction to 3D Modeling
Get a basic overview on how to create and modify 3D designs using TinkerCAD, a free browser-based 3D modeling platform. You will learn the basics while designing your own project, which you can then print for free in any of our makerspaces.
Introduction to Inkscape for the Laser
Learn the basics on how to use the free software Inkscape to create images you can cut or engrave using the laser and design your own project! You will leave the class with a finished notebook and the confidence to design more creative projects.
Introduction to Sewing
Learn the basics of using a sewing machine, including threading, filling a bobbin, and executing basic stitches, as we create custom drawstring pencil bags. For ages 9+.
Laser Cutter Badging
Learn to cut out a wooden plaque, etch a custom design on glass, and more with our laser cutter/engraver! After completing this class, you will be able to use the laser cutter/engraver on your own during open hours at any of our makerspaces. For ages 9+.
Quilt Block Club
We’ll create a new quilt block together each month, drawing from classic American quilt designs. At the end of the year, join your blocks together to create a sampler quilt!

The federal census is an invaluable resource for researching our family history. The 1950 Census will provide new insight into a fascinating time in U.S. History, shortly after the Second World War and just before the introduction of color TV, the discovery of DNA, and the day when Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on an Alabama bus. Staff will offer classes throughout the month to help you take advantage of this new genealogical resource.

LENA Start
Tuesdays, April 5 - June 7 | Noon Thursdays, April 7 - June 9 | 6:30 p.m. This 10-week program will help parents, with children 0 - 32 months, increase conversational turns. Each week a child will wear a "talk pedometer" to track the number of adult words, conversational turns, and minutes of electronics they are exposed to. We will meet weekly to give you tips on how to increase conversational turns and increase them by the end of the 10 weeks. Families will receive 10 free books and three gift cards throughout the program! Plue, the child will receive a gift at graduation.
Down the Rabbit Hole: All About Pet Bunnies
Sat., April 23 | 10:30 a.m. | High Prairie Library Children ages 3 - 12 will learn about the unique needs of domestic house rabbits and how they differ from dogs and cats.
