The benefits of the dam are for irrigattion of 5,445 Ha; raw 3 water supply for drinking to 0.56 m /s; flood control to 3 583.5 m /s; Hydropower to 90-107,5 MW; and tourism. The Merangin Dam is one of priority project of Directorat General Water Resources, Ministry of Public Woks and Housing.
