Message from the Executive Director and Board Chair Thank you for supporting Power To Be. Reflecting on the success of the past 19 years and the ongoing groundswell of support, we can all be proud of the community impact we have made. We empower individuals and families living with a barrier or disability to live more meaningful lives. Our life-changing programs are the connecting force between courage, inclusion, community and generosity. In 2016, 1,178 participants explored their limitless abilities thanks to the dedication and talents of our volunteers and staff. Underpinning our drive to be difference makers is our commitment to financial accountability. We pride ourselves in putting philanthropic dollars to good work. In 2016, we raised $2.87 million while receiving more than $450,000 of in-kind equipment, products and services. This support subsidizes program costs ensuring finances are not a barrier to inclusion. We also secured a 25-year lease of a 78-acre waterfront property at a dollar per year on Prospect Lake. We can now offer programs on a much larger and comprehensive scale here, while enjoying a sense of place and permanency for

our participants. In doing so, we can better address service demand to meet diverse community needs and support Power To Be’s strategic vision. As the complexity and need of our work grows, the fundamental premise remains the same. We believe everyone belongs in nature. We know that by bringing people together outside, we address pressing issues our participants face, such as access to activities that promote well-being, self-confidence and inclusion. Believing in the potential of people, we’re a catalyst to empower them to discover their full capabilities. We look forward to ensuring the coming years of hard work will inspire our continued efforts to be a force of good for this world. We need and truly appreciate any help you can provide. With gratitude,

Tim Cormode, Founder and Executive Director
