We took what we learned in the most hostile combat environments and combined that knowledge with proven tactical gear concepts, tested it with top military professionals and hunters, and then customized every aspect to perform in all potential backcountry scenarios.

Unlike traditional stick and leaf camouflage, Kryptek’s design incorporates micro and macro layering inspired by artillery camouflage netting. This creates a 3D appearance on a 2D surface and near-invisibility. TACTICAL/LAW ENFORCEMENT Exclusively for Military and Law enforcement, Kryptek

offers a complete line of “Made to Order” apparel and gear in both Berry and TTA compliant.

Missions were accomplished. Battles were won. But the intensity of combat could only be endured with the companionship that grows during a soldier’s downtime.

Butch and Josh spent theirs reminiscing about their favorite big game hunts in the most challenging locations. The ethos of the warrior and sportsman, after all, are one and the same.

Bound by the brotherhood, scars and lessons of war, Butch moved to Alaska to start a successful contracting company, while Josh continued SPEC-Ops missions around the globe. It was during this time that they became increasingly frustrated with the deficiencies of “civilian” camouflage gear.

The challenging hunts they were passionate about needed the proven technology they depended on in combat.

And so, discussions began over how to bring the best battlefield technology into the civilian world. Ideas were sketched on napkins. Industry assumptions were challenged. Fellow soldiers were asked to field-test patterns in their elite military and law enforcement units. How it works The treatment puts a hydrophobic layer on each individual cluster. This treatment is done during the down cleaning process. Warm Retention Wool has a natural crimp to it that helps it trap more dead air than any other fiber. Dead air is a fantastic insulator and provides a great buffer against the cold.

Plus, wool fibers do such a good job of moving moisture away from the skin that even if the fabric is soaking wet the surface area of your skin will remain dry. Merino fibers and fabrics can absorb up to 30% of their dry weight before feeling wet.

Cooling Wool has the ability to store moisture within the structure of the fiber. As your body warms up, the moisture stored within the fiber will begin to evaporate, cooling the air between your skin and the fabric. The warmer you get the more evaporation takes place and the larger the cooling effect Wicking Wool moves moisture vapor before it turns to sweat.

But, what happens when we perspire faster than the vapor can be transported? At this point, wool will move liquid mechanically, just like synthetics do.

Both synthetics and wool have the ability to wick, but only wool has the ability to wick away moisture in its vapor form.

Durable and Resilient A wool fiber is a complex structure that, believe it or not, behaves remarkably similar to our skin; naturally cooling and heating as the body needs.

Predominantly made of interlocking protein molecules known as keratin, the same protein present in our own skin and hair, individual wool fibers have the ability to be bent, flexed and stretched in any direction 30,000 times or more without damage. Now that’s one strong fiber!

In addition, wool fibers have a natural curl called the “fiber crimp” which improves the elasticity and over all resilience of the fiber.

Real waterproofness in one step The OutDry system is based on a patented lamination process: the waterproof and breathable membrane is bonded directly to the external glove’s shell by the action of pressure and temperature, creating a unique body which seals the stitching and any other potential water entry point.
