LIVESTOCK was established in 2013 as a dream.

At the time we weren’t sure what it would ultimately become, but knew it was something we had to do. Both of us only knew life and family built around quality hogs and wanted to give it a go for ourselves. Just a few miles away from the crossroads of interstates 35 and 40 we got started with just a handful of sows.

We built slowly and patiently, focusing on a fundamental female core that’s reliable and far reaching at the same time. That plan has paid off.

The last couple of years have been a wild ride. Not only have we expanded in sow numbers, with plans of growth, but now register eight breeds.

While we always had a few boars around that we would tie into, our need for more boars of varying breeds landed us here today. There will be shots of industry leading genetics in some of these boars, along with shots of genetics we have been brewing in-house. We have only put feed in front of mature boars that we believe fill a role within our herd.

We believe in what we are trying to do and the pigs we are trying to build, and we are aware it takes all different shapes, sizes, and pieces. With the growth and diversity of our sow herd it is now imperative that we have a larger selection of boars both genetically and the physical pieces that they offer.

CANCELLATIONS

All cancellations must be made by 10 a.m. CST on collection day. The purchaser of the semen will still be responsible for the cost of the semen if the order is not cancelled by this deadline.

OVERRUN/CONTRACT PRICING

Overrun semen is available starting at 11 a.m. CST on collection days. Refer to each boar for overrun pricing. Please contact the staff to discuss contract availability. Contracts are 10 doses min (no max). $200/dose on all boars, except Forward (he is $250/dose).

BREEDING CERTIFICATES

All breeding certifications are processed online via our website. Fill out our AI Certificate form and it will be processed within 5 business days. All breeding certifications are $30/ each. Contact Sam for all breeding certification questions.

It’s what’s in the dirt that makes it work! Ever thrown a scoop of dirt into a pen for your livestock to eat because they were not performing well (loose stool, skinny, rough hair, etc.)? The theory behind that is to inoculate the good bacteria in their gut and get them back on track. The old timers have been using this trick for years!
