TO THE CYBER DISTRICT The Fort Gordon Cyber District represents a two-state, seven-county regional economic development and attraction initiative that supports both the defense and private sector’s technology, innovation, and growth. Centered around the U.S. Army’s Cyber Headquarters at Fort Gordon, the region is booming with opportunity for technological and economic expansion.

The greater Augusta area is following suit and is rapidly ramping up computer science education initiatives and revitalizing the local community to transform the region into an attractive destination for a world class workforce.

GEORGIA CYBER INNOVATION & TRAINING CENTER The Georgia Cyber Innovation and Training Center represents a $60+ million investment by the state of Georgia to advance the field of information security by focusing on training, education, research, and development. The center will act as a hub for cybersecurity startup companies and house a state-owned cyber range that brings together academia, private industry, and government to establish cybersecurity standards across state and local agencies to develop and practice protocols for responding to cyber threats.

FORT GORDON United States Army Garrison Fort Gordon is located about 8 miles southwest of Augusta on over 56,000 acres and is home to the US Army Cyber Command, Cyber Center of Excellence, and National Security Agency - Georgia. Fort Gordon also houses the Cyber Battle Lab, Army Signal School, and Army Cyber School. The Cyber Center of Excellence provides the training and material solutions for these schools.

SAVANNAH RIVER NATIONAL LABS The Savannah River National Laboratory is the applied research and development laboratory at the U.S Department of Energy’s Savannah River Site.

The laboratory applies state-of-the-art science to provide practical, high-value, cost-effective solutions to complex technical problems, such as the detection of weapons of mass destruction, the cleanup of contaminated groundwater and soils, the development of hydrogen as an energy source, the need for a viable national defense, and the safe management of hazardous materials.

THE ALLIANCE FOR FORT GORDON The Alliance for Fort Gordon will play a vital role in helping defend the future of this military installation that is so critically important to the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA). Regional business leaders and elected officials came together on February 14, 2003, to form the Alliance, which will build on the strong bond that already exists between Fort Gordon and the communities surrounding it.

The primary purpose of the Alliance is to demonstrate the potential for Fort Gordon to grow existing missions and take on new missions.
