ANNUAL CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT WRAP UP Thank you to everyone who joined us at the 19th Annual ECC Charity Golf Tournament! With the incredible support of our sponsors, participants, and volunteers, we raised over $25,000 for rural community initiatives benefiting the Central Alberta Women’s Emergency Shelter, the Broom Tree Foundation, Taber Safe Haven, Jessica Martel Memorial Foundation, and the Medicine Hat Women’s Shelter Society. The day was filled with sunshine, great company, and plenty of friendly competition on the greens. Your generosity and enthusiasm helped make this event a resounding success, and we’re proud to see our co-operative spirit in action. We’re already looking forward to next year’s tournament! Mark your calendars for July 29, 2027, when we’ll return to the award-winning Innisfail Golf Club for 18 holes of fun and fundraising once again. If you are interested in joining us in 2027, please reach out to ecc@equs.ca to be a part of our contact list for upcoming details. Until then, thank you for helping us drive community impact across rural Alberta - one swing at a time!

BACKPACKS FOR SCHOOL CAMPAIGN MAKES A DIFFERENCE EQUS team members once again came together to support local students through our annual Backpacks for Schools campaign. This year, donations were focused on schools in Fort Macleod, where the need for support is especially high. Thanks to the generosity of our team, we raised $1,000 in cash and school supplies to help students start the school year prepared and ready to learn. Our South Area team will be coordinating the delivery of supplies to the schools in the coming weeks.

At EQUS, we’re committed to helping our members (and their neighbours) save money while staying energized for success. Whether you’re running irrigation systems or managing multiple farm sites, consolidating your services under EQUS could lead to significant savings. If you or your neighbours still have irrigation sites with another provider, or if you’re looking to streamline your services, our Business Development Team is here to help!

We offer FREE cost comparisons to show you exactly how much you could save by switching your services to EQUS. It’s easy, transparent, and designed to benefit rural Albertans just like you.

PREP TIPS FROM OUR FIELD TEAM

As cooler mornings remind us that winter is on the way, now is the perfect time to prepare your property for Alberta’s winter weather. Snow and ice can weaken branches and bring trees into contact with power lines, increasing the risk of outages. If you notice damaged or hazardous trees near power lines, contact EQUS. Our Vegetation crews can assess and safely remove vegetation when required. If you rely on a generator during power outages, a transfer switch is essential to prevent dangerous back feed onto the electrical grid. EQUS offers and installs GenerLink™, a safe and convenient behind-the meter transfer switch that allows you to connect a portable generator directly to your home. For more information about tree concerns or GenerLink™ installation, contact the EQUS office in your area. A little preparation today can help keep your family safe and your power reliable this winter.
