Polar Expre ss Ex pe r ie nce a t A s pe n C r o s s ing

South Family Fun Day Heads to North Pole EQUS is excited to invite our members to a magical evening of holiday cheer at Aspen Crossing near Mossleigh on Friday, November 20. This year’s South Family Fun Day features a festive Polar Express train ride experience – a heartwarming journey to the North Pole that brings the spirit of the season to life! Registration is required and is first-come, first-served by visiting equs.ca/events or calling 310.EQUS. Once capacity is reached, members will have the opportunity to email events@equs.ca to be added to a waitlist! Plan to arrive just after 5:00 p.m., check-in with the EQUS crew, and enjoy the magical gift shop on-site while you wait to board. The Polar Express will depart at 6:00 p.m. sharp! A complimentary hot chocolate and treat will be included for each passenger. Don’t miss this chance to connect, create new memories, and enjoy the magic of the holiday season together. Limited spots are available, with six (6) tickets per Member Account available. Children under two are not required to register. Due to tighter spaces on the rail cars, the venue asks that guests leave strollers, car seats, and walkers off the train - special assistance can be provided by calling 403.534.2129. We look forward to celebrating the season with our South Service Area members. Don’t miss this enchanting evening – we highly recommend registering early to secure your spot!

Tip From Our Field Team

WHAT TO DO IN A POWER OUTAGE Our Outage page at EQUS.ca/outages allows members to report outages directly from their phone or computer, track real-time restoration updates for their area, and access step-by-step guidance, any time of day, without needing to call. Quick steps when the power goes out: • Check your breaker first, a tripped breaker is one of the most common causes of sudden power loss and can often be resolved immediately. • Check if neighbours are affected, if they are, head straight to EQUS.ca/outages. • Report your outage online with your account number and as much detail as possible. • Monitor restoration updates in real time on the same page. Everything you need is at EQUS.ca/outages.

SAFETY TIPS

Harvest season is here, and staying safe around power lines is one of the most important things you can do in the field. As equipment moves across the farm and grain augers go up, the risk of contact with overhead power lines increases significantly. A few reminders before you head out: • Know your clearances. Always maintain a minimum safe distance from overhead power lines when operating tall equipment. When in doubt, stop and call before you move.

DISTRIBUTION

• Watch your auger height. Grain augers are one of the leading causes of power line contact on farms. Always lower your auger before moving it and check the route before you go. • Plan your routes. Before moving large or tall equipment, walk the path and identify any overhead lines along the way. A few extra minutes of planning can prevent a serious incident. If contact happens, stay in the cab. If your equipment contacts a power line, stay inside, call 911, and call EQUS immediately. Do not exit the vehicle until the line has been confirmed de-energized by a qualified professional. If you are ever in doubt call us or visit EQUS.ca for more safety resources, including our Safety Tips video series on YouTube. Stay safe out there this harvest.
