YOUR PETS’ WELL-BEING Those pets that are well cared for, that are cherished and loved are happy and often more healthy than those that do not receive the same attention from their owners. In turn the happy, healthy pet brings their owners tremendous joy. Of course there can never be any guarantees that your pet, when they first come to your home, will be healthy; however, owners can do a lot to help ensure that their dog or cat is given the best opportunity to remain in good condition, does not suffer from preventable conditions and remains a much-loved family member. Therefore it makes sense to ensure you take your little pup or kitten to the vet the moment it is introduced into your home and your space. This has certain benefits. For example, it gives your vet the chance to look it over, to make sure there are no immediate underlying issues that may cause problems later, and it creates the basis for a good relationship between the vet and their practice and you and your pet. Much like children – and adults – go to see the family doctor, the pets should visit their vet not only when they are sick or need care, but also when they appear to be perfectly healthy and fit.
