Overall Observations In 2011, the current facility was renovated therefore major
structural changes are not needed at this time However, bathrooms were not included in renovation and need to be updated Traffic flow needs to revisited given additional students Facelift on front of the building recommended GKDC relocation recommended Kitchen equipment upgrades recommended Add’l IT infrastructure and equipment anticipated New signage reorienting the entire bldg. and serving as a library legacy for both JNA/Sligo recommended
Reorientation of Classroom Layout Based on the review of the facility the committee
recommends the following enrollment projections: Scenario 1: 215 (K-8) and 80 (GKDC) as is - no major construction Scenario 2: 315+ (K-8) and 80 (GKDC) some construction

Front Facelift/Traffic Flow/Misc Per the following slides the committee recommends that the front
porch and tile area be updated, windows added to create classroom and some reconfiguration of office areas – Costs are Rough Order of Magnitude Estimates:
New Front Porch – Priority 2 New Curb/Driveway – $25,300 New Sidewalk - Front $4000 Patch/Repair & Stain front concrete – Stucco front $17,000 Classroom Windows $9700 Remaining Items – Priority 1

Great Kids Development Center Per attached schematic drawing the GKDC is recommended to remain in the
same two rooms and to add the next two adjoining rooms Goals achieved: Classroom exit doors to both the inside and outside of building meets MD state code Existing rooms available for Director’s office New Playground Area - $50,000 Priority 1
Bathroom Upgrades The bathrooms in the hallways and in classrooms (19) are in
need of updating this would include new floor tile, fixtures and lighting $75,000 Priority 1
Kitchen and Cafeteria Upgrades Current food service provider can feed up to 108 students per lunch period.
Recommends the following new kitchen equipment be purchased to addressed the increased lunch activity anticipated:
Deep Fryer Portable Oil Filter Walk-In Freezer (7x6x84) Step-In Refrigerator (4x6x72) High Efficiency Dish Washer Commercial Microwave Commercial Food Processer Convection Steamer Storage Racks Metal Shelving/Fatigue Mats/Serving Trays Total Est. Equipment Costs: $31,000 Finger print scanner for lunches/RENWEB: $100 x 19 rooms = $1900 HVAC Est. Costs: $17,500 Priority 1
The point of sale module is already in place on RenWeb. It is FREE. The IT people just have to activate it.
Classroom Upgrades The committee recommends that floor to ceiling
closet/storage space be added each classroom 16 classrooms: $56,000 Priority 1
IT Infrastructure, hardware, software etc. The general IT infrastructure of current facility is sound and
is expandable. CAT6 wiring was just recently installed in facility to increase data capacity etc. 28 computers reside in current lab for instruction with same number from JNA 100+ desks and chairs from JNA Future IT requirements: TBD Priority: N/A
Signage The committee recommends that every classroom, gym,
cafeteria, conference room, hallway etc. be named in honor of a major educator and contributor to both JNA/Sligo A specific area (front mural) or library/another room will be set aside to serve as museum of sorts to display pictures/yearbooks and other memorabilia of both schools Est. Costs: $15,000 Priority 1
