WIFE – Should provide unconditional love, physical and emotional support to her husband. Respect her husband and in-laws. To glorify the ministry and work that her husband has been called to. She helps keep her husband qualified to be a pastor, pointing out things that her husband perhaps can not see. In Prov. Chapter 31 you find the qualities of a wife.

MOTHER - Isaiah 66:13- As a mother comforts her child, so I will comfort you. Prov. 31:27 Strength and honor are her clothing; she is confident about the future. Her mouth is full of wisdom; kindly teaching is on her tongue. She is vigilant over the activities of her household; she doesn’t eat the food of laziness.

How can a pastor’s wife glorify the ministry and work that her husband has been called to, and could not do without her.

A. Utmost is our relationship with God.

a. Daily prayer b. Daily saturation of the Word c. Discipline yourself in these two areas, and you will grow in wisdom and knowledge. Pray consciously seek to have His character traits in your life.

B. Have an excellent communication skills, Get along with all people. Support the vision of the church. The vision of your pastor (husband)

1Pet. 3:10 For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile.

Through Service. Matt. 23:11 – “ He that is greatest among you shall be your servant” Use your privileged position to work for God and serve others. God put us all in different areas of service in the church so it would function orderly and march forward triumphantly. Your role is important, and you cannot cop out and say. “ You are necessary to body and it does matter what you do and say. Every member of the body has influence on someone else.

To provides a sounding board for her husband to vent, brainstorm, and question his progress or goals, yet encouraging and steadfast to support the vision that God has given to them. She is often to nurse, healing emotional wounds that seem to cause many pastors to give up.

Influencing church Culture – Her activities outside of the church have to align with church values. A family –equipping church seeks to champion both family and church. How much more influential, then, is the way a wife supports her husband and raises their kids to respect his calling. Not only to respect his husband, but the leadership and leaders.

As we are under the umbrella of United Pentecostal Church, we must support the programs not only to our local church but also to the sectional level, district and national. Our faithfulness and loyalty to the organization is also important. How can we see we loyal to God and we are not loyal to our leaders.

Conclusion:

1 Tim:3:11 tells us the Bishop’s wives should be grave, not slanderers, sober and faithful in all things.

Grave: Deserving serious consideration: important; momentous.

Slander: Defamation, oral or written, a false report, maliciously uttered and tending to injure the reputation of another.

Sober: Calm and collected in spirit, temperance, well balanced. Uninfluenced by that which disturbs. Not inclined to levity or frivolity.

Faithful : Full of faith in God. Firm in adherence to promises or contracts. Loyal.

You are dealing with tender souls, moldable characters, and impressionable minds. You are not your own, so do be careful how you handle the stewardship of the time, actions, and influence God gave you opportunity to have.
