Meeting called over toilets A SPECIAL meeting is being held next week to enable Bognor Regis councillors to give their views about proposed seafront toilets. THe extraordinary session of Bognor Regis Town Council's planning and licensing committee will take place at 6.30pm on Monday in the town hall. THe consideration of the plans by Arun District Council to demolish the existing foreshore office and replace it with a
new unisex toilet block which includes urinals, baby changing facilities and an accessible WC is the only item on the agenda. Arun has set aside £200,000 to pay for the loos. A separate beach office has also been included in the plans, with a public information point and first aid facilities. But the district council has yet to find the money for that part of the building.
As reported, the special meeting was decided by the three councillors present at last week's regular meeting of the town council's committee after they failed to reach an opinion about the plans to pass to Arun when it makes a final decision. One of Arun's Hotham councillors has sought to have the plans deferred. Cllr Paul Wells (LD) said: "I have challenged the process by which the plans were
