Ship to shop vote welcomed By Kevin Smith kevin.smith@sussexpost.co.uk LEADING campaigner Roger Beam has welcomed a demand for road safety facts about a proposed Aldwick store. THe Friends of the Ship Inn chairman said yesterday the decision by councillors to put the plans to turn the former pub into a convenience outlet on hold was a
sensible one. Mr Beam, who stated his objections to the scheme to councillors along with fellow Friend Terry Mullins, said after the meeting: “It is to the members' credit that they voted for the people and not for big business. Aldwick village. THe unanimous vote by Arun District Council’s development control committee on Wednesday calls for an independent road safety audit to be carried out around the site in Aldwick Road.
