Lack of poppies fear for town AN URGENT search has begun for a helper to ensure poppies are on sale in Bognor Regis this year.

THe Remembrance Day symbol could be missing from much of the town if the current vacancy for a Poppy Appeal volunteer organiser remains unfilled.

Polly Bate, the Royal British Legion's community fundraiser for West Sussex, said the absence of the familiar red flowers would be a blow in the centenary

year of the end of the First World War. "THis year is such an important year for us that we really want poppies to be on sale again in Bognor Regis," she said.

"We raised £14,000 from the Poppy Appeal in Bognor Regis last year and £18,000 the year before.

"THe amount does go up and down but it's always been at least £10,000 that I know of.

f More work is needed on the new cycleway EXTRA workers have been drafted in to get a new cycleway from Bognor Regis finished on time.

THe number of teams creating the route to Littlehampton was increased from two to three on Monday.

THis is set to mean up to three sets of temporary traffic lights on different sections of the A259 from 8am-4.30pm on weekdays to enable construction of the £2m route to take place.

Weekend working is also being started from April 7. THis will see two teams working simultaneously, and two sets of temporary traffic lights, between the same times on Saturdays and Sundays.

Motorists are urged to allow more time for their journeys where possible.

A West Sussex County Council spokesman said the contractor would absorb the additional costs.

"THe extra resources are being met within the terms of the existing contract, so there will be no additional costs to the county council," he said.

THis is the second time this year extra time has been devoted to the project to provide a combined cycleway and footpath between the eastern end of the Bognor Regis relief road in Flansham and the Ferry Road junction in Climping to link up with existing cycle routes.

Work began on the 4.5km-long path last summer, with the intention of finishing it this spring to provide the

shortest and safest route along the coast on two wheels and two legs.

Cllr Bob Lanzer, the county council's cabinet member for highways and infrastructure, said: "Every effort is being made to try to minimise the total time the scheme takes and the total disruption caused.

"THese new working arrangements will help us complete the project as soon as possible. We would like to thank the public for their patience during the construction and apologise for the inconvenience caused."

THe project was met with unexpected challenges soon after it was started.

Extensive surveys carried out in advance failed to show that fibre-optic cables were a lot closer to ground level than anticipated.

Despite this, and because of measures being taken to step up the amount of work being carried out, the original target of a springtime finish is still set to be met.

THe combined footway and cycleway will be 3m wide and on the northern side of the A259.

It will include new and improved lighting and crossing facilities at Yapton Road, north of the junction with the A259 (Comet Corner) and the Church Lane roundabout at its junction with the A259.

THe A259's junction with Climping Street and the A259 west of its junction with Ferry Road will also benefit from better crossing facilities.

PLANS to freeze short-stay parking charges at two Bognor Regis area car parks are open for consultation.

Arun District Council is proposing to leave the £1 fee for stays of up to an hour in the Rock Gardens and Culver Road sites.

Charges for up to four hours and over four hours are set to increase from £3 to £3.20 and £7 to £7.40 from May 1.

THe charge for stays of up to an hour in the Gloucester Road car park is also set to stay unchanged at £1.50. Stays of up to two hours could cost more at £3.20, compared to £3, and those for

longer could go up to £7.40, from £7.

Comments about the changes should be made to Arun by April 6.

As reported, councillors of different political parties united to overturn their officers' recommendation to increase the charges for the shortest stays.

Arun cabinet member for neighbourhood services Cllr Paul Wotherspoon said: "We have seen no increase to parking tarrifs during the current financial year so we are looking at slightly increasing some charges from May 1 in order to keep up with inflation."

German students get chance to use skills FOREIGN language studies for Bognor Regis students came alive with a twinning visit.

Pupils at THe Regis School were paired with their counterparts from one of the town’s twins of Weil am Rhein for a morning. THe European visitors from the Kant Gymnasium experienced product design among other lessons .

One of them, Madleina Muchenburger, 14, said: “We have been working with wood and cloth in product design.

“THe school is very modern. I like it because the students do not have so much paperwork as us.”

She had been to England previously on a family holiday. Her classmate, Clara Schuler, also 14, was on her first visit.

She said: “It’s been good in the school.

THe people are so nice and the school is so big, much bigger than our school.

“It’s good to get the chance to speak English as well. It’s a little weird to see pupils in uniform, though, because everybody looks the same.”

THe students were accompanied by teachers Cristiana Leser and Jana Meier on a return visit after their inaugural time at the school last summer.

Ms Leser said: “It’s really good for the children to see that English is not something that they only use in school.”

Ms Meier said: “It’s interesting for them to experience another school system. THe most obvious difference they notice is the uniform.

“But the students here have different subjects in their lessons like photography and drama. We have these as clubs in the afternoon after school.”

THe visit was the second to be arranged with THe Regis School by Bognor Regis

Twinning Association.

Alison Clark, the second’s head of modern foreign languages, said the Germans had been paired with those in Years 9, 10 and 11.

“Some of them had emailed us before to introduce themselves. THis is a good chance for our students to meet those from Germany, talk to them about their interests and find out they are no different.

“It’s also good for them to use their German talking to German students. In the current climate, this is just a nice thing to do. European languages are going to become so much more important to us in the future.”

THe Kant Gymnasium students returned last Wednesday after a week in Bognor Regis. THey also visited London, Portsmouth, Brighton, Chichester and Fishbourne.

MEP protests about oil drilling - see page 4

Lights switch-on A NEW section of decorative lighting on Bognor Regis seafront is due to be turned on tomorrow.

THe series of lamppost decorations will return to a section of Marine Drive West for the first time in five years.

THe previous illuminations, pictured right, were scrapped when they had reached the end of their lives at a time when West Sussex County Council carried out a large-scale street lighting replacement programme.

THe low voltage LED festoon cabling was being wrapped around the columns on the road between Park Road and Nyewood Lane this week.

THe decorations match those lights installed around Waterloo Square last year. But the new ones are white instead of being multi-coloured.

THe new lights on the six columns will come on about 9pm, along with the existing displays, as fireworks light up the sky above the pier as part of the Big Switch-on Weekend.

THis has been organised by Bognor Regis Seafront Lights. Greg Burt, the group's secretary, said it was likely to be the last year of the 14 existing displays which the group has nicknamed the 'umbrella stands'.

"THey are starting to look tatty and it just isn't worth trying to replace the bulbs on them," he said.

"In addition, we are evaluating whether it is worth rewiring them.

Unfortunately, like so many things these days, it is just cheaper to replace them en bloc."

As well as the lights coming to life in advance of the summer, this weekend also sees Coles Funfair taking place along THe Esplanade.

THis has meant the closure of THe Esplanade between Clarence Road and Lennox Street from 6pm yesterday until early Tuesday morning.

THe lighting group was formed in 1997. It receives funds from Bognor Regis and Felpham councils and nearly as much again is raised from fundraising events like jumble sales, a garden fete, donations from traders, sponsorship and the illuminations gala on August bank holiday Sunday.

Residents can support the lights through the ongoing scheme to adopt a light bulb.

For £2 a year, they can adopt a bulb of their colour in return for an attractive certificate. Applications forms are at Heygates Bookshop at 67 High Street.

` Flat intruder AN APPEAL for more information about a mystery man in a Bognor Regis flat has been made by police.

Just after 2am on Sunday, a man knocked at the door of a flat in Carlingford Court, off Victoria Drive.

A 32-year-old woman was on her own in the flat and opened the front door to the caller. THe man managed to push his way in and grabbed her.

However, she managed to push him out and, although shaken and upset, she sustained only minor injuries.

PC Ben Nield said:" THe suspect is described as white, in his 30s, around 5ft 11in, clean-shaven and well-built, with short, dark hair. He spoke with a local accent.

"THe motive for this incident is not clear at present.

"So, if you saw this man in Bognor in the early hours of Sunday morning, or have any other information, please contact us online at sussex.police.uk/contactus/response-to-appeal or call 101, quoting serial 68 of 25/03.

` Police action CHIEF Constable Giles York has said Sussex Police is taking antisocial behaviour in Bognor Regis seriously. THe top officer told police and crime commissioner Katy Bourne at a meeting last week he understood residents' concerns about the problem.

"My assurance is we are not dismissive of this in any way.

Neither are we blind or ignorant to it," he said.

MEP opposes Lidsey oil plan GREEN MEP Keith Taylor has objected to plans to continue drilling for oil near Bognor Regis.

Mr Taylor is among objectors to the proposal by Angus Energy to renew the planning permission for the exploration site at Lidsey.

THe previous approval expired last month and Angus has asked West Sussex County Council to allow another ten year period of drilling in Sack Lane.

But Mr Taylor has told the council he had grave concerns about water and air pollution, greenhouse gas emissions and an ongoing dispute about drilling in Surrey which involved the company.

He said:" THere are, as yet, not fully understood risks associated with the acids and other chemicals used in most of the stimulation techniques proposed at Lidsey, which is the cause of considerable concern."

THe acidisation proposed by Angus used a higher concentration of chemicals than hydraulic fracturing, Mr Taylor claimed. He also said Angus' comments that oil production at Lidsey will help to fulfill the government's stated desire to increase Britain's oil and gas production did not stand up to scrutiny.

"It took 24 years to extract the first barrel of oil from Lidsey and, since then, production has remained poor.

"Data provided by the company to the Oil and Gas Authority shows that Lidsey produced no oil in the most recent 12 months for which figures are available, from November, 2016, to October, 2017.

"It's hard, consequently, to take Angus' proclamation about the productivity of the sale seriously.

"In fact, production issues are such that I am very concerned Angus will be under pressure to employ even more extreme production techniques in pursuit of traces of oil," he said. "In the longer term, this would mean an increase in pollution and greenhouse gas emissions and a greater, more intensive use of land."

He also called on Angus to show any risk of harm to the environment and water must be ruled out before any operation is allowed to go ahead Mr Taylor is the Green MEP for south east England and is a member of the European Parliament's environment and public health committee.

His objection was among eight received by the county council, with one of support, before consultation into the planning bid ended earlier this month.

Sack Lane resident Kenneth Ford wrote: "THis company has a poor record for abiding by the conditions of its existing planning agreement.

"THis site is surrounded by prime agricultural land and is adjacent to the flood plain, an environment of a sensitive ecology which must not be exposed to experimental risk."

In its application, Angus stated it produced 50 barrels of day last year at Lidsey. THe production process includes crude oil, water and gas from the wellheads to a separator which directs the fluids into the on-site storage tanks.

Performers show their skills on stage for end of term success YOUNG actors brought one of the best known children's stories to life in their Bognor Regis school.

THe cast of 90 Year 4 pupils at Edward Bryant School performed Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in front of an audience of parents on Tuesday.

THeir enthusiatic production has led their teachers to consider making an Easter end of term play an annual event at the school for their age group.

Year 4 teacher Simone Ayling-Moores said: "THe children have only been working on the play for five weeks. I'm surprised they have learned all the lines.

"THe children have loved every second of it and we are very proud of them.

"We've always staged an annual

play for Year 6 pupils and but only occasionally in Year 4. I think this will persuade us to stage one every year."

THe story was performed with relish by the children as they told the tale by Roald Dahl of the adventures of young Charlie Bucket inside the chocolate factory of the eccentric chocolatier Willy Wonka.

"Being involved in a play like this gives the children the chance to shine on a stage," said Ms Ayling-Moores.

"THey don't get much chance to take part in drama. It is something different for them.

"It gives them confidence in performing skills which they don't normally get in their usual lessons."

Bat study to fight homes

FURTHER expert studies are being commissioned by Pagham councillors to fight unwanted housing schemes.

THey have put aside £15,000 to spend on consultants to highlight the reasons why house-building should not be allowed on three sites around the parish.

One of the studies will be to try to determine the species of bat which is living in the Sefter Road site subject to the latest application from Taylor Wimpey. THe company wants to increase the number of homes it is allowed to build from 250 to 280.

Cllr Phil Higson said the latest application

by Taylor Wimpey would add further traffic to the area’s roads.

“It might be argued it’s the straw that broke the camel’s back but 30 out of (a total of) 1,500 houses is not going to be relative really,” he said.

But he stated the information in the current plan was inconsistent. Reference was still made in the description to 250 homes being built and the fact a site for a school was being set aside when that land was being earmarked for the extra housing.

He said: “THis is a flawed document. We want a correct analysis of where and what the extra 30 houses are.”

THe decision to set aside the money to pay for the studies was made in confidential business at an extraordinary meeting of the council earlier this month.

THe minutes state: “Representatives of the parish council had met with legal representatives the previous day to discuss prospects for opposing the large-scale housing development in Pagham.

“THe clerk gave an overview of the advice given by the legal representatives.

“It was resolved that an amount of £15,000 would be made available to the planning committee from the earmarked housing reserve to spend on further investigations with consultants and on further legal fees in accordance with the strategy set out by the legal team and relayed to the meeting by the clerk.”

MP tries treadmill MP NICK GIBB has gone on the run in Bognor Regis.

THe MP for Bognor Regis and Littlehampton has tried out the new anti-gravity treadmill on loan to the town's Laburnum Centre in Lyon Street.

Mr Gibb said: "To feel 80 per cent lighter is like walking without gravity.

Laughter lines session COMEDY hopefuls were having a laugh when they attended a workshop in Bognor Regis.

THe eight participants hoped to find out how to bring humour to an audience. THey were guided on their mission of mirth by Angela Vick, whose brassy northern landlady Vera Sidebottom amused many audiences with her raucous Yorkshire views.

THe workshop is one of several being held by the Making THeatre Gaining Skills Community Interest Company. Results with the most promise will be used by an Institute of Laughter steering group as it starts work towards staging a comedy tour around rest and care homes in the area later this year.

One of those who benefited from Angela’s advice was Bognor Regis resident Zoe Gibson, 34. She is a volunteer at the Bognor Youth and Community centre, where the workshop was held.

“THis was something I felt I needed to participate in. It’s not about what you can’t do but what you can do. It will be nice to find out if I can write comedy.

"We have a real laugh when we are volunteering in the kitchen and that could make a sitcom like

dinnerladies. I think it has a lot of comic potential and it would be good to see if that is true.”

She and the other potential comics got physical at the start of the two-hour workshop as Angela told them to perform various walks.

THey adopted different stances to reflect trying to avoid paying back £10 to a friend, greeting a longlost friend or swaggering their way to multi-million pound business deal.

Angela has jointly written, performed and produced a production at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, called Women On The Make, as well as taking part in the Bath Comedy Group.

She said: “Nothing’s funnier than real life. Today is all about trying out ideas and looking at subjects and styles of humour.

“It’s not telling people to tell a joke because that’s not funny normally. It’s more about a situation and what people say or do say – and the pausing they put into their comments with the comedic after-thought.

“THis kind of event is about giving people the confidence to think about writing.”

THe successful applicant would work with Ms Bate to agree a set of actions to ensure the appeal was as successful as possible, recruit and brief enough collectors to ensure good coverage and order, store, distribute and collect enough poppies and collecting trays and tins to meet the demand.

THey would also have to account for all the money raised and publicise the appeal.

It is suggested the individual would have empathy with the armed forces, have experience of planning and co-ordinating materials and people and be confident in dealing with money.

Ms Bate said: "THe volunteer organiser manages the logistics of the Poppy Appeal.

BUSINESS owners in Bognor Regis town centre are set to take control of the area for the first time.

THey will have more say in what happens in the retailing area than ever before.

National and local firms together will be helping to pay for the town's Business Improvement District when it starts this Sunday.

THe BID is financed by a 1.5 per cent levy on the rateable value of most businesses in the area between the Royal Norfolk Hotel, Butlin's and the University of Chichester.

THis will ensure all the firms contribute to making the town centre better.

Paul Wells, chairman of the newlyformed BID board, said: "THe main chunk of the financing is going to come from the national retailers.

"From the town's point of view, that is something that has never happened before. It is usually the independent firms that have contributed in the past. But the BID will bring independent and national retailers together to help the town."

THe levy is set to produce £700,000 - or £140,000 a year - during the five years of the BID to provide the funding for the various activities. It will be the end of next month before the money starts to become available.

THe BID's business plan was backed by the town's businesses in a ballot last July.

It has four key objectives to make Bognor Regis better. Town centre manager Toyubur Rahman said: "One of the first objectives is to have a dedicated website to promote Bognor Regis and to help to change the look and the branding of the town.

"A lot of the information which is out there at the moment is quite basic.

"One of the other key things is to have two showcase events a year. We haven't yet decided what the summer's will be but the winter one is set to be the return of the popular ice rink.

"We will also support and help the organisers of other events. We can help to co-ordinate what is going on and help everyone to work together. THere might be scope to make efficiencies as well."

THe business plan also includes the prospect of volunteer ambassadors to meet and greet visitors and provide information about the town.

"THey could be retired people or students on courses like the Duke of Edinburgh Award and they would help people like a walking, talking visitor information centre," said Mr Rahman.

THe role would be separated from the security aspect initially envisaged because of the ongoing crime in the town centre highlighted at last week's electors' meeting.

Mr Wells said: "THe first objective is to get the statutory authorities doing the job they should be doing.

"THere's no point the BID paying to do something extra. THere needs to be a better presence of police on our streets.

"Talks about that are ongoing with Sussex Police and Arun and Bognor Regis councils."

As well as Mr Wells, the board has four other directors - Matthew Reynolds (Reynolds Furniture), Hannah Shrimpton (William Hardwicke), Mark Halls (Wilkinson) and Jeremy Pardey (Butlin's).

Organisers determined to go ahead with forces' tribute day A SHORTFALL of thousands of pounds will not stop an annual tribute in Bognor Regis to the armed forces.

Organisers of this year's Armed Forces Day in the town are still hoping to raise most of the £7,000-8,000 it will cost to stage the event.

One of those in charge of the event, Pat Dillon, said: "We don't want to lose Armed Forces Day again in the town.

"We will still go ahead whatever the funding situation. At the moment, we have a shortfall of about £5,000."

THe 2018 version will take place on June 16 in its traditional location of Waterloo Square.

THe event had been held in the town for several years before a lack of volunteers led to it being scrapped in 2016. A new team of helpers decided to revive it last year. Many of those individuals want to carry it on.

Mr Dillon said they had decided to move the day forward by a week to avoid clashing with Father's Day only for the Ministry of Defence to push the national celebration back a week to leave the Bognor Regis event without the official backing.

"However, despite this, poor standards were found, which posed a food safety risk to customers," she said.

Town's firms take charge

A FELPHAM butcher has been prosecuted for a number of food safety offences.

Gaterell's Butchers has to pay nearly £5,000 after the court case brought by Arun District Council's environmental health officers.

One of the officers found out of date, high-risk ready to eat foods, food being stored inappropriately and a poor standard of cleaning throughout the premises in Felpham Road.

THe owner of the business, Terry Gaterall, has pleaded guilty at Worthing Magistrates' Court to failing to implement food safety controls set out within his business and keeping the premises clean.

He was also convicted of a further charge of failing to keep foods in appropriate conditions.

Gaterall was fined £750 for the three offences plus an extra £100 for a previous offence which related to out of date

` Windows smashed A GROUP of men smashed ten double glazed windows at a Bognor Regis hotel.

THe suspects were dressed in dark clothing and used metal implements to smash the windows and the front door of the Pier Hotel.

THe incident caused more than £2,500-worth of damage to the Waterloo Square business. No one was hurt.

Handbell ringers hand over cheque DELIGHTED Bognor Regis Handbell Ringers have presented their biggest cheque to charity.

THey have donated £2,000 to Mike Charman, of the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance Trust, as a result of their performances during last year.

Pauline Allsopp, the ringers' secretary, said: "We are absolutely delighted to provide these funds to support the excellent work of the air ambulance, which is available 365 days a year across Kent, Surrey and Sussex.

"Our group has been so impressed with the air ambulance's work and organisation that it has agreed to support them for another year.

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who have supported us throughout 2017 and the members of the group for their ongoing enthusiasm and commitment which has enabled

us to give 26 performances during the year."

THe handbell ringers' group was formed in 1947 by Chichester High School for Boys teacher, Ron Ashton.

After his death in 1992, it gradually declined until it was revived about 2003.

It has raised £18,535 for various good causes by a making a nominal charge to nursing and rest homes for performances.

Summer shows involve a repertoire of waltzes, marches, classical pieces and old favourites from 1900 to suit the audiences. Carols are performed in Christmas shows.

As well as homes, the handbell ringers entertain WIs, afternoon groups and, for the past 12 years, they have performed on the last day of term before Christmas to pupils and staff at Bishop Tufnell CE Infant School in Felpham.

Debbie proves doctors wrong A DETERMINED Bognor Regis runner is proving the doctors wrong.

Debbie Patching will be lining up for next month's London Marathon after she was told a broken hip would stop her taking part in such lengthy runs.

She is hoping to complete the 26.2mile course in about five hours sustained by a bowl of porridge the previous night.

Taking part in the marathon will fulfill one of her ambitions.

Debbie is a member of the Frame of Mind Community Interest Company team and has enjoyed running for several years.

She belongs to the Tone Zone Runners at the Arun Leisure Centre in Felpham and regularly takes part in races across the country.

But she was struck by disaster three years ago when she hurt her hip seven miles in to the Brighton Marathon. THe hip was later confirmed as broken.

Her first question was 'Will I be able to run again?' THe consultant replied she would be advised to avoid marathons.

THe following year saw her return to Brighton and complete the marathon.

THe London event had always been one she wanted to do. She received a place through a ballot at the Tone Zone Runners, drawn by her running buddy, who is also taking part.

Debbie is raising money for Frame of Mind, at the Arun Business Park, Shripney Road. It provides bespoke picture framing and printing services and vocational training and wellbeing places

for adults with mental health issues, learning disabilities and dementia.

She said: "THey have always been so good and friendly to me that I wanted to give something back."

Lily's a star as awards celebrate the district's best young people BLOOD cancer battler Lily Hayward has been chosen as the bravest young person in the area.

Felpham Community College pupil Lily, 11, was the winner in the 11-13 age group category at the latest Rotary Arun Youth Community Awards.

She received her certificate and prizes in front of some 200 people in a glittering ceremony.

Lily said: “I was proud and honoured that I was even nominated for the award.

I didn’t expect to win it, to be honest.

“I know I have had a bad time but I didn’t expect to be recognised for it.”

Lily was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia last year and began her treatment at Southampton General Hospital in June.

She underwent intense chemotherapy, which ended before Christmas and is receiving check-ups at the hospital and at St Richard’s Hospital, Chichester.

“THe treatment was not as bad as I thought it would be,” said Lily. “I did miss a lot of school at the start of Year 11.

“I had just started secondary school and tried to go in as much as I could if I didn’t feel ill.

“But I am keeping up at school. I’m in the top set for maths and English.”

Lily was among four three individual winners at the awards night in the Windmill THeatre in Littlehampton.

Another was THe Regis School pupil Nicola Rodwell in the age 16-19 category.

She had 22 inches of her hair cut off to donate to the Little Princess Trust charity, to be made into wigs for children being treated for cancer.

As well as giving her hair, Nicola raised £900 for a cancer charity.

Nicola, 16, said: “I feel happy about what I did to win the award. I was going to have my hair cut because it was very long. I didn’t want the cuttings and didn’t know what to do them.

“I then saw some videos about the Little Princess Trust and decided it was a good thing to do.

“It was the first time I had raised money as an individual but I have done charity work at the school.”

THis year’s awards were the fourth to be organised by the four Rotary clubs in the Arun district. THey recognise young people who are caring, brave, volunteers and fundraisers.

Bognor Regis Rotary Club youth committee chairman Bob Pavard said: “We wanted to take on the awards because we believe our young people

“THe awards have grown in strength since we take over from Inspire Leisure and we had 27 nominations this year.

THat’s more than we’ve had before and makes all the work worthwhile.

Callum Yardley, chairman of the Arun Youth Council, said the occasion was a good opportunity to correct the media stereotype of young people.

“THese awards are the epitome of the youth council’s job of promoting awareness of young people.

“Everyone nominated should be incredibly proud of themselves. Every year, it gets harder and harder to decide who the winner of each category is.”

` Chilled Shake CHILLED SHAKE is back in Bognor Regis.

THe informal, open readings of Shakespeare are returning in pubs in the town and Chichester.

THe first of the revival sessions will take place at 7.30pm next Tuesday in THe Lamb Inn, Steyne Street, Bognor Regis. Macbeth will be the chosen play.

It will be followed at the same time on April 18 when Romeo and Juliet will be read in the Park Tavern, in Priory Road, Chichester.

Organiser Richard Baldwin is staging the occasions with the Rox Music and Arts charity.

He said: "Chilled Shake regularly happened about five years ago and now, after this hiatus, will be returning.

"THe aim of Chilled Shake is to make Shakespeare fun again by not taking it too seriously.

"Reading Shakespeare at school or college, or on your own, is completely different to Shakespeare's original intention.

"When you read Shakespeare with other people, down the pub, it becomes an interactive experience and much more enjoyable."

Everyone who would like to take part has been asked to take their own scripts if possible.

David's novel idea for film AN ALDWICK man is heading west to turn his dream of big screen success into reality.

David Wilkinson intends to spend several weeks touring the USA to try to persuade film industry insiders to adapt his first printed novel into a blockbuster.

He self-published The Happening Man Era Two to continue his love of the American West – and believes the latest exploits in the life of Major Trigg Hemmyng during the Gold Rush era have the makings of a blockbuster.

He said: “I’ve spent two to three weeks driving around places like Wyoming to get a feel for them for my stories.

“I plan to go back out there in the summer and start knocking on the doors of the people who could turn my book into a film.

“It’s a rollicking story and I think it would make a really good film.

"Westerns have fallen out of fashion in recent years but I think The Happening Man Era Two could change that.”

Former builder Mr Wilkinson, 76, of Barrack Lane, already has the ideas for the next two books in the series and intends to use them to tempt the interest of anyone in the film industry interested in taking them on.

He began to write 18 months ago to replace his lifelong sporting interests.

His passion for playing sports such as football and cricket had faded as his age increased.

He started with a Second World War romance but moved on from the halffinished story to use his love of the time of cowboys and the Gold Rush that has shape much of modern America.

His initial book was published as an e-book but he has turned to the

traditional paperbook format for his follow-up.

He paid for 500 copies to be printed and is delighted with the result.

“I really enjoy writing on my word processor. It keeps the brain ticking over and I tend to write every day.

"I’m very pleased with the book. It’s got an ISBN (barcode) which means it can be ordered from any book shop.

“I could sit down and write all day but it's no good without getting the paperbook out there," he said.

“Finding a literary agent is like finding gold dust on Bognor Regis High Street so I need to do things myself. ” The Happening Man Era Two continues Maj Hemmyng’s work in the American west from 1860 onwwards as he uses his guile, experience and foresight to provide for his family.

He crossed the Atlantic Ocean to make his fortune having worked as a surveyor for a Duke in Mr Wilkinson’s native area of Yorkshire.

Maj Hemmyng spent ten years in the American Cavalry in and around Oregon and left to set up a detective agency as the western frontier became the Wild West.

“I’ve always loved westerns,” added Mr Wilkinson. “THe first thing I saw on TV was Hopalong Cassidy just before the Queen’s Coronation in 1953. I just love the era. If you drive around places like Wyoming and replace the cars with horses, you could be back in those days.”

He has written the book under the pen name of Vic Chamberlain.

Hotel's royal past on view RUSSIAN royalty's links with Bognor Regis have gone on show in the town museum for the first time.

THe signatures of the Romanov family members are contained in a visitors' book of the Royal Norfolk Hotel.

THe imperial dynasty visited Bognor when Princess Helena Vladimirovna stayed there from June 4-6, 1910, followed

by Grand Duke Kirill Vladimirovich on October 1, 1911.

Also stopping off at the popular hotel were Christopher Prince of Greece in 1910 and Victoria of Britain and Ireland, the daughter of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra, in 1910.

THe visitors' book from 1901-14 was donated to the museum from Barbara Macrae. She and her partner, Andreas Violaris, owned the hotel in the late 1970s. Mr Violaris passed away last year and Ms Macrae wanted the book to be seen by many people as possible.

Museum curator Chris Burstow told guests at last Friday's preview night: "One of our most exciting new acquisitions is a visitors' book from the Royal Norfolk Hotel and this forms the centrepiece of a new display about not only the changing face of the hotel but about some of its most famous guests."

Another new display for this year at the museum in West Street, run by Bognor Regis Local History Society, shows a small selection of the Noddy memorabilia owned by town resident Cliff Mewett.

30 well-known individuals - like singer Petula Clark, entertainers Danny Mac and Ben Richards, Will Hay co-star Moore Marriott and former PM Margaret THatcher's husband Denis THatcher with strong links to the town.

"We hope this will encourage visitors to let us know about other celebrities who have a more than passing connection to the town, so we can start to build up our archive in this area," said Mr Burstow.

Also new for this year is an updated First World War display, original items from the town's weather station and an Edwardian beach tableau.

THe museum is open from 10am-4pm, Tuesday to Sunday, and bank holidays until late October.

THE CHAIRMAN of the Board of Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and its council of governors has announced his retirement at the end of May. Mike Viggers has been chairman of Western Sussex since 2011, a period in which the trust became only the third in England to be named as ‘outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission and has been rated by staff as one of the best NHS organisations in the country at which to work or be treated.

Mike said: “THe decision to retire has been the most difficult of my working life. I have spent seven wonderful years with such outstanding people at Western Sussex.

"Witnessing the dedication staff in our hospitals show to their patients day in and day out has been a truly humbling experience and I thank them all for that incredible commitment.

“However, at the age of 65, I feel the time is right to spend more time with my family and grandchildren, and allow another the privilege of chairing these two great organisations and helping them continue improving care for patients.”

Trust chief executive Marianne Griffiths paid tribute to Mike and his own contribution to the organisation, saying: “We often talk about our staff going the extra mile for patients, but that absolutely applies to Mike’s own commitment to them, too.

“We all wish Mike a very happy retirement. We hope to appoint his successor very soon.”

Helping others earns Darci a global award A BOGNOR REGIS student was one of just two in the country this year to be presented with a worldwide award.

Darci Scott, a pupil of THe Regis School pictured right, received the We Generation Award for her commitment to social action.

She took to the stage in the SSE Arena in Wembley in front of 20,000 people and was presented with the award by Lord Rumi Verjee and Sir Richard Branson's daughter and We book author, Holly Branson.

She met We founder, Craig Kielburger, and enjoyed the rest of We Day 2018 where she heard inspirational performances from artists such as singer Alexandra Burke and speeches from Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie.

THe We UK team was impressed by the work of Darci, 12, when she helped to organise a special mini We Day for 100 primary school children around Bognor Regis, during which she led a dance.

She was also one of the key students who led a food drive last November that saw the school collect more than 1,600kg of food for the town's foodbank.

She said: "We can make a change, we can be the change. We are the change.

"THe inspirational speeches at We Day show us how to do it."

THe We Movement is an organisation that brings people together and shares resources and ideas to help young people see how their small actions can help change the world for the better.

THe Regis School has been involved with the organisation for five years. Darci's

connection began when she was ten and attended a mini We Day at THe Regis School with her primary school.

Inspired by the work of the Rights Respecting Ambassadors at the secondary school, she asked to join them when she arrived there.

She is helping to plan a water walk for We and a playground challenge to support Sport Aid and Unicef.

Caroline Saunders, the school's assistant principal, said: "We are so proud of Darci. She embodies our work as a Rights Respecting School and the values of the We Movement.

"She proves that anyone can change the world for the better and that small actions can make a really big difference.

"THis is a global award, with only a handful of young people internationally as recipients so it is fantastic one of our students has been recognised for such important work."

She was among 14 of the school's students who experienced We Day. THey stayed in London overnight and had the chance to meet Youtuber and author Connor Franta and musicians like Burke before they went into the event.

Year 10 student Jade Coles said: "Children were taught this year about the importance of standing up against discrimination and inequality.

"Feminist views were expressed and the whole room applauded when girls were spoken of.

"It was very moving to see such equality

and acceptability within the arena."

THe work of THe Regis School's staff and students to tackle food poverty has led We to film them for a short documentary.

THe footage will be shown on the Canadianbased charity's website and could feature in future We days in Britain, Canada and the USA. Alexia Posirca, 13, pictured top right, was involved with the filming.

She said: "I was really pleased to take part in meeting We, as they are a worldwide charity.

Mrs Saunders said: "Being asked to make this film is a reminder of just how special our students are.

THey go the extra mile and their efforts have been recognised and will, hopefully, inspire other schools to take part in the We programme."

Students gave positive feedback on their experiences of the event, including Hannah Scott in Year 8, who said “It’s been the best day because I used Virtual Reality for the first time.”

Vape debate led by pupils OPINIONS of Felpham Community College students could help to shape public health policies in the area.

THe five pupils took part in this year's Arun Youth Council debate.

THis included a number of subjects based on the current news such as allowing students aged over 18 and teachers to vape on school premises, the routine arming of British police forces to deal with threats to national security and life bans for drug cheats in sport.

Year 9 student Joe Reavey was among the speakers. He said: "My favourite debate was about vaping. Everyone wanted to talk and voice their opinion, even the teachers who were accompanying the students at the event.

"THere were representatives from public health listening to this debate. So, we really felt our views were being heard and will be taken into

consideration with future plans and policies."

THe event was held in the council chamber of the Arun Civic Centre in Littlehampton. Four other schools took part.

Felpham's sixth formers opened this year's Big Sing. THis is held annually by the Felpham and Bognor Heads, or FAB. One of those who took part, Year 10 student Courtney Rogers said: "I am part of the FCC vocal group. THere is a good sense of friendship between us. I feel happy and alive when I sing."

Felpham's Years 7 and 8 students, pictured top right, took part in an interactive workshop about the dangers of under-age drinking.

Isobel Dove, a Year 8 student, said: "THe workshop was really good as the presentation was very 'real'.

"You could relate to it and see how something similar could happen to any of us."

` Charity uses cash PEOPLE in the Post area with Parkinson's are enjoying the benefits of a donation.

THe £900 from the Pagham Pram Race committee for the Chichester, Midhurst and Bognor Regis branch of Parkinson's UK has been used for tai chi and Trillers.

Both are beneficial to Parkinson's sufferers. Tai chi helps with strength and balance and can reduce the risk of falls and Trillers is a choir to give a sense of wellbeing and helps to retain speech.

Any Parkinson's sufferers and their carers in the area are welcome to go to the branch from 2pm-4.30pm on the third Wednesday monthly at the Regis School of Music in Sudley Road, Bognor Regis.

THe Bognor Regis monthly meetings take place at the same venue on the first Tuesday monthly, except for January and August.

Chichester meetings take place on the third Monday each month at the Newell Centre and those in Midhurst on the second Wednesday at Bepton Road Church Hall, apart from January or August.

MEMBERS of a pensions campaign in Bognor Regis and Chichester will be holding a first anniversary meeting next week.

THe Bognor Chichester and South Coast branch of WASPI will stage the session at 6.30pm next Wednesday. It will take place at My Sisters' House, opposite the library in London Road.

THe next day will see some of the branch's members talk to the Labour Party women's group at a meeting in Littlehampton. April 12 will see the WASPI women at a women's inequality event at the United Church in the town.

Holiday company joins with sea safety charity f Shane Morton with governors' chairman Jo Naylor

Head's new role will help diocese HEADTEACHER Shane Morton left his Felpham schools yesterday to take on a new role.

Mr Morton has served the Bishop Tufnell CE schools in his roles as headteacher of the junior school and then executive headteacher of the infant and junior schools in a period dating back more than 12 years.

He has said goodbye to their classrooms in Pennyfields to take up an exciting post within the Church of England and the Diocese of Chichester in its schools department.

He will be leading a team of church schools' support advisors.

A spokesman for the schools said: "Shane will move from serving hundreds of children in the Felpham

A PAGHAM holiday site owner has partnered with a lifesaving charity.

Haven runs Church Farm Holiday Village on the edge of the Pagham Harbour local nature reserve and has joined with the RNLI to help to save lives.

THe partnership was launched on Monday and will see the lifeboat rescuers become Haven's exclusive national charity partner for at least three years.

THe link aims to fully integrate the RNLI with Haven across the company's 36 family holiday parks in support of Haven's Safe & Secure attitude towards

schools to thousands of children right across West and East Sussex.

"Shane commented in his farewell party that it was the spirit of the actual man, Bishop Tufnell, who inspired his leadership.

"Shane has embodied the Christian values of the school, from service to humility, faithfulness, to courage.

"He has led from the front and many staff, past and present, said farewell to him."

THe neighbouring Bishop Tufnell schools federated last September to create a single governing body.

THe Diocese of Chichester's education department offers a range of services to governors, headteachers and clergy.

St Ives comes to Chichester Max Wildman is a artist whose popular success revolves around an uncanny ability to create works in the style of Alfred Wallis - that most enigmatic of naive painters who lived and worked in St Ives in the first half of the 1900s. He will be exhibiting over 50 of his most recent works at the Oxmarket Gallery in Chichester, from 27th March to the 8th April.

Alfred Wallis is a legendary figure in St Ives artistic life - a fisherman and scrap dealer who took up painting in his seventies. Wallis is said to have amazed sophisticated modernists Ben Nicholson and Christopher Wood one day during a visit to St Ives. THey were walking near Porthmeor Beach when the pair happened upon Wallis working in his cottage, and were both immediately impressed by his untrained, uninhibited approach.

Wallis worked with whatever materials he could lay his hands on - mostly ordinary household or ships paint, as well as pencil and crayon. He used scraps of cardboard salvaged from the local grocer, which he cut into irregular shapes. Perspective was unimportant to this intuitive painter, who

made objects bigger or smaller depending on the importance he place upon them! His paintings were mainly seascapes or boats which he painted from memory - recalling the years he spend at sea.

Wallis's work eventually became much sought after, making tens of thousands per piece, but he himself died in the poorhouse before being able to reap any reward. Many of his paintings can now be see at Kettles Yard in Cambridge, which is where Max Wildman first encountered them. Having being fascinated by primitive and naive art for some time, he began experimenting using the same materials and techniques that Wallis would have used, and drawing on the same subjects - produces convincing, authentic looking works which are presented in a variety of vintage frames.

For more than a decade now, Wildman has been immersed in perfecting that elusive "Wallis look", and sells his work in many galleries across the country. His aim is to produce Wallis style paintings that look as realistic as possible - but at a tiny fraction of the price of an original. As fellow artist and sculptor John Maltby puts it - "Max Wildman is an artist who certainly knows his Wallis. His paintings are deceptively simple, and at their best they are often aphorisms of this unique St Ives artrist. Once again, Wallis is affordable!"

Easter exhibition at Tangmere Museum THE United States entered the First World War in April, 1917, and an agreement was signed between the British and American governments for the Air Service of the American Expeditionary Force (ASAEF) to contribute 30 night bombardment squadrons to the Allied effort.

THese 30 squadrons were to be equipped with an initial order of 310 Handley Page 0/400 twin-engined bombers to be built under licence in the United States and then shipped to Britain for assembly and fitting out.

aerodromes in Sussex commenced during 1917 at Tangmere, Ford Junction, Rustington, Southbourne and Goring-onSea. By the spring of 1918, the work at Tangmere on constructing the ‘Training Depot’ was almost complete; three ‘aeroplane sheds’ and a Handley Page shed to house four of the large bombers had been constructed and the landing ground was ready for use.

However, it was not the Americans who were first to use to use the new aerodrome.

In March, 1918, three newly formed Royal Flying Corps squadrons (Nos 91, 92 and 93) arrived to work-up prior to moving to France and on April 1 these squadrons became part of the newly-formed Royal Air Force.

THe first fatalities at Tangmere occurred six days later on April 7 when three members of 92 Squadron, one of whom was American, were killed in a mid-air collision over the aerodrome when a Sopwith Pup and an Avro 504 collided.

In July, the three RAF squadrons left, the SE 5a scout equipped No 92 for France and the other two squadrons to be disbanded. THe aerodrome then prepared itself for new arrivals.

Between August and November, American aviators arrived at Tangmere and commenced their flying training on a variety of aircraft including British-built HP 0/400 bombers. To provide recreation for the new visitors, an American club was set up in one of the large houses in North Pallant, Chichester.

However, by the Armistice on November 11, none of the American built bombers had arrived and by the end of the year all the Americans had left for home.

THe story of the newly-opened Tangmere aerodrome in 1918 and the formation of the RAF is told in a temporary exhibition to be held at the Tangmere Military Aviation Museum from March 30 until April 15.

In addition to explanation boards, models and a film showing the RAF aircraft types based at this famous airfield between 1918 and 1970, visitors to the exhibition will have the opportunity to sit in an accurate replica of an SE 5a First World War cockpit and to ‘fly’ this aircraft on one of the simulators.

Entry to the exhibition is included in the normal museum entrance fee.

Link between stomach and brain is food for thought I AM back out working in Dubai this week, which of course I love. I have been fortunate enough to have a three-hour lunch break at the beach, with a large coconut for my cocktail of choice and half a watermelon the size of the moon for lunch! For me, it doesn’t get much better than that… Heat, sun and beautiful food! Paradise!

THe one thing that becomes more and more

apparent to me as I trot round the globe giving health lectures and seeing clients from all nationalities, is that it doesn’t matter how wealthy you are, or what position you hold within your company, no-one in this modern society is free from stress and anxiety. It’s out of control. And what are we all striving for?

Apparently, the latest statistics for the UK show that one in four people is suffering from serious mental health issues, and one in six people report experiencing a more common mental health problem such as anxiety and mild depression or feelings of low mood.

THis is a hugh percentage of people. THere is something very wrong with society, as we know it.

I see lots of teenagers in my clinics now suffering from anxiety, and is it that our expectations of them are too high? Or, their expectations of themselves are too much?

Five years ago, I wasn’t seeing even half the amount of people with these issues as I see now, so even in that relatively short space of time period things are changing rapidly.

Spring, apparently, is almost here and, at the moment, if you locate a Sainsbury's store, six bottles purchased will yield a 25 per cent reduction in the final purchase price what is there not to like about this?

Armed with this information, I duly headed towards a Sainsbury store and, with Easter Day in mind, perused the Champagne and sparkling wine section and stumbled across a La Cuvée Laurent Perrier Brut Champagne on offer at £25 and, if one of six, at a most enticing price of just £18.75!

La Cuvée is their signature Champagne, the new rebranded Brut NV using the purest grape juice. It is characterised by a Chardonnay content of 55 per cent of the blend and an extra year of ageing in the cellar on the lees which adds to the complexity.

A pale golden hue, needle-fine mousse and very fine bubbles, this Champagne is delicate, fresh and elegant with a hint of honeysuckle and the tiniest hint of marzipan and one that undoubtedly

should regale your palate!

As for sparklers, the Cloudy Bay Pelorus, assuredly the Rolls-Royce of Champagne alternatives, is retailing for just £15, if one of six, and is an apéritif style of sparkling wine with lemon, hazelnut and brioche flavours to the fore - a veritable delight!

Moreover, if you wish to support the burgeoning English sparkling wine industry , might I suggest you procure a Chapel Down NV Reserve Brut Sparkling wine priced at £22, but reducing to just £15.50 , if one of six bottles, and notes of red apple, lemon grass and fresh bread should ensure a positive oenological experience!

In terms of still white wines, I decided to try a silver moki 2017 Sauvignon Blanc priced at £6.75 (£5.06 if one of six) whose table fish depicted on the label is the origin of the name. It is crisp, flavoursome with tropical fruit to the fore and good bang for your buck! I next availed myself of a 2017 Barossa Riverland Chardonnay from the well-reputed Château Tanunda which proved to be dry, full of soft fruits with mineral notes and crisp apple on the finish. Retailing for six readies (down to £4 50 if one of six), this is my bargain of the week - a wine whose taste develops pleasingly en bouche!

Two red wines then caught my eye, both priced at £12, and thus a mere £9 if one of six bottles and both are noteworthy, to say the least! THe 2014 Cru Bourgeois Château Barreyres Haut - Médoc is an expressive claret with the only caveat being the need

for a minimum of 90 minutes' aeration as written in French on the reverse of the label.

THen the wine will open up, so to speak, with flavours of creamy vanilla cassis and coffee cream and an abundance of dark fruits. Grippy with a long fruity finish, this wine is drinking well, but has ageing

salt 1 lb. pappardelle 3 tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil 1 lb. baby bella mushrooms, sliced into 1/4" pieces 2 cloves garlic, minced Freshly ground black pepper 1 c. vegetable stock 1 lb. asparagus, chopped into 1" pieces 2 tbsp. butter 1 c. freshly grated Parmesan, plus more for garnish 1 c. freshly grated fontina cheese 1/2 c. parsley leaves

1. Bring an 8-quart stock pot of water to a boil and generously season with salt. Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente.

Drain, reserving 1 cup pasta water, and return to pot.

2. Meanwhile, in a large skillet over mediumhigh heat, heat oil. Add mushrooms and spread in an even layer; cook for 3 minutes before stirring to let the mushrooms brown. Add garlic, season with salt and pepper, and cook 2 minutes more. Add stock and asparagus, then

using a wooden spoon, scrape bottom of pan to remove the browned garlic and mushrooms.

Bring to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes.

Add butter, pasta, and both cheeses, then gently mix with tongs. (If the pasta seems dry, slowly add reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached.)

3. Serve in skillet or transfer pasta to a platter and top with grated Parmesan, a drizzle of olive oil and parsley.

Serve immediately.

INGREDIENTS • 225ml semi-skimmed milk • 50g butter, chopped, plus extra for greasing • 5 tbsp orange shred marmalade • 450g strong white bread flour, plus extra for dusting • 7g sachet fast-action dried yeast • 2 tsp ground cinnamon • 100g raisins • 50g candied mixed peel • 100g dark chocolate, chopped • 1 large egg, beaten • 100g plain flour

Chocolate orange hot cross buns

Method Heat the milk in a pan until steaming. Remove from the heat, add the butter and 3 tbsp marmalade, and stir until dissolved.

Mix the bread flour, yeast, cinnamon, raisins, candied peel, chocolate and 1 tsp salt in a large bowl. Add the egg to the milk mixture, tip into the flour and stir to make a soft dough. Flour the work surface and your hands, then knead the dough for 10 mins until smooth and elastic. If any fruit or chocolate pieces escape, keep kneading them back in.

Grease, then line a large baking sheet with baking parchment. Divide the dough into 10 equal pieces. Shape them into buns by kneading each and then rolling under one hand on the work surface until smooth. Put the buns on the baking sheet, leaving room for rising, then slightly

press them down to flatten a little. Cover loosely with cling film and prove in a warm place for 2 hrs or until the buns are well risen and doubled in size. Be patient, as it will make all the difference to the texture.

Heat oven to 190C/170C fan/ gas 5. Gradualy stir 90-105ml water into the plain flour to make a smooth, thick paste.

Pour the mixture into a food bag and snip off a corner to make a hole about 5mm wide, then use it to pipe the crosses onto the buns. Bake for 20-25 mins until the buns are risen and golden brown, and sound hollow when tapped underneath.

For the glaze, melt the remaining marmalade in the microwave or a small pan and brush over the buns while they're hot, then leave to cool. Eat on the day of baking, or toast the next day.

Community News & Views STUDENTS enjoy one of the best learning experiences in the country at the University of Chichester, according to a national league table.

Results of the 2018 Times Higher Education Student Experience survey ranked it in the top ten of all UK universities.

THe study, published last week, questioned more than 20,000 students across the country on 22 aspects of university life.

THese included teaching quality, facilities, accommodation and social life.

THe University of Chichester - which moved up to tenth from 27th position in 2016 - also ranked in the top three for security as well as student welfare, and fifth for academic experience.

Vice-chancellor Professor Jane Longmore said: "It is very pleasing to see our outstanding performance in student experience so clearly reflected in the Times Higher Education.

"Ensuring our students get the best experience possible while studying here is crucial to us and we must also acknowledge the key role that our high-quality staff have played in achieving this result."

Students also helped the university achieve a top-two finish in the categories of good personal relationships with teaching staff, fourth for good environment on campus and fifth for tuition in small groups.

Times Higher Education editor John Gill said: "Understanding the student experience has never been more important to universities, which are competing with one another to a far greater extent than they once did.

"THat competition plays out in the academic experience, of course, but also the facilities and lifestyles on offer for those who choose to study at a particular institution."

POPULAR networking events are returning to Chichester next month.

THe sessions by Voluntary Action Arun and Chichester enable charities in the area and voluntary organisations to get together to share ideas and best practice, discuss problem solving and share any news, activities or upcoming events.

THe free event will take place from 10am-11.30am on April 17 at THe Newell Centre in Tozer Way. It will begin with a chance for people to introduce themselves and their organisation as well as promote any current projects or activities of which they would like to raise awareness.

Each person is limited to a one minute slot to allow plenty of time for networking. THe session will be informal and relaxed with plenty of tea and cake.

Jenny Holmes, from VAAC, said: "We know from experience and what our members tell us that opportunities to get together with other organisations working locally is invaluable.

"THe chance to talk to other people who might be having the same experiences and issues and to find out what else is going on nearby is really helpful for our member organisations.

"THese events aren't about VAAC. We simply facilitate the sessions and give our organisations a chance to get together and chat. We are, of course, on hand if they want to talk to use about the support we can provide."

VAAC held a similar event recently in Petworth, pictured above, with 30 attendees, who represented 26 organisations in the area. Feedback from the session was very positive and the buzz during the session was a great testament to the partnerships and connections that were made.

A CHARITY is calling on Chichester and Bognor Regis residents to say 'THank You' to those who served in the First World War. THe Royal British Legion has launched a movement to reflect on the conflict as the 100th anniversary of its final 100 days nears.

During that period, from August 8 to November 11, the Legion is inviting the public to remember the 1.2m British and Commonwealth armed forces who lost their lives in the war and those who played their part on the home front.

Charles Byrne, the Legion's director general, said the end of the First World War centenary was a chance for everybody to say thank you in their own way to all those involved in the war.

THey could have sacrificed their lives, returned from the fighting, worked in factories and on the land or pioneered advances in medicine, technology and the arts.

While the 100th anniversary

CHILDREN from Puddle Ducks Hampshire and West Sussex have taken part in a national water safety week.

THe event saw them learning all about water safety while wearing their pyjamas.

THe Swimming Teachers' Association organises the annual water safety campaign with the aim of encouraging people to learn to swim safely.

Innovative swim school Puddle Ducks holds its weeklong pyjama event because

of the armistice that ended the fighting 100 years ago marks a poignant time of reflection, it is also a time to look forward to the future with the promise to make it a better place.

"Everyone living in the nation today has a reason to say 'thank you' to this special generation."

THose who take part could come from all cultures and faiths, community groups, schools, companies and sports club to express their gratitude to those who gave themselves to the war and its aftermath and rebuilt a better nation from its darkest hour.

THe Legion is asking the nation to plan a 'thank you' activity to take place from August 8.

THe day the clocks go back a measure introduced during the First World War to save daylight hours - will be a focus for 'THank You' activity on October 28.

Alison Merrett, owner of Puddle Ducks Hampshire and West Sussex, said: "During our PJ Week, all parents, children and even our teachers were encouraged to wear their pyjamas. We are so proud of all the children, pictured above, who took part in our water safety week. THey were all dressed head to toe in their pyjamas and eager to learn.".

MILITARY officials have honoured the University of Chichester for its continued support of the armed forces.

THey presented the university with an employer recognition scheme bronze award for its commitment to reservists, cadets and instructors, veterans and the families of service personnel.

Deputy vice-chancellor Professor Catherine Harper said receiving the award was a significant moment for the unversity.

"We are a value-driven instituion with a sense of pride in our community, which encompasses personnel from across the armed forces.

"Reservists and veterans bring a variety of transferable skills to the university, such as leadership, team working, communication and organisational ability, developed during military careers.

"THe award proves our dedication to supporting the armed forces," she said.

THe employer recognition scheme was launched in 2014 to reward employers with bronze, silver and gold accolades for advocating support to the military.

Professor Jane Longmore, the university's vice-chancellor, was joined by Major Tim Osman, of 12 Regiment Royal Artillery, at a ceremony to sign the armed forces covenant.

THe agreement guarantees the commitment of the university to the men and women, and their families, who have and continue to serve their country.

Among the guests at the signing ceremony was Joe Ayres, the accommodation manager at the university, who has been a Royal Navy reservist for three years.

"He said: "Being a reservist gives me the opportunity to get involved in activities that I would only otherwise dream of doing.

"It also gives me the best of both worlds as I can continue developing my career at the university but also learn new skills, knowledge and personal qualities with the navy, which in turn supports my civilian work."

CHURCHES around the Post Newspapers area are being asked to remember the world's seafarers in a special service.

Sea Sunday services will be taking place in congregrations around the world on July 8 in aid of the Sailors' Society.

And those in the Bognor Regis and Chichester areas could join in the events.

Each year, the Christian charity - which celebrated its 200th birthday on March 18 - asks churchgoers to pray and give thanks for the world's 1.6m seafarers.

Stuart Rivers, chief executive of the Sailors' Society, said: "Whether they know it or not, the people of Bognor Regis rely upon seafarers.

"More than 90 per cent of everything we own comes by sea - our clothes, phones, cars - even the bricks that make up our homes.

"All these goods are brought into the country by seafarers who risk extreme loneliness, dangerous storms and even piracy.

"Holding a Sea Sunday service for Sailors' Society is a fantastic way of recognising the amazing work seafarers do."

THe charity works internationally to support the world's 1.6m seafarers with practical, emotional and spiritual welfare support. It has created a variety of resources for churches, which it has made available free to download at seasundayhero.org THe resource pack includes a sermon outline, PowerPoint, videos, posters and Sunday School lesson plan and activities.

Eighties were decade to remember for town Decade contained lot of memorable events to shape Bognor Regis AS YOU read my articles each week, everyone will have different opinions on the content of them. For some, it will be, 'all that is before my time', either because of your age or because you have moved into the area later.

THis week, my article is for you, as we look at the 1980s, not long ago some may say, but remember it is over 30 years ago and so much has changed both locally and nationally in that time.

As the 1980s began, the Esplanade THeatre was hosting its final show before it was finally demolished, much to the consternation of locals who could not believe that they would no longer have the continued enjoyment of their cosy little theatre.

However, in March, 1980, the Duke of Norfolk opened the Bognor Regis Centre.

THroughout the 1980s, the centre proved to be a constant talking point - its usage, who was funding the centre and what types of events were to be staged there.

Also during the 1980s, town twinning ceremonies were being carried out as Bognor Regis embarked on its link with St Maur des Fosses. During 1980, one of our eminent councillors of the time announced she would be holding a demonstration in THe Steyne as plans were being announced that this area was to be a ‘pay and display’ area in the

town. THis, she claimed, should not occur, as THe Steyne was a conservation area. It is interesting to see how the press over the years have summarised annual events and made them newsworthy.

Another one of those ‘interesting facts’ - or so I thought - was that it was announced that local telephone numbers were changing and that either ‘8’ or ‘86’ was to be added in front of the four or five digit telephone numbers.

THis, apparently, according to the press report, ‘was to be part of a plan that would ultimately allow us all to dial friends and businesses nationally, without the need for a dialling code’. I wonder what happened?

Another name was to start to appear in the press at this time, that of Zootopia, which publicised the arrival of a two-year-old tigress, but throughout the decade they took charge of a wide range of animals and birds to delight local children and visitors alike.

It is sometimes difficult to equate national events with local activities. However, the 1980s was certainly to change that with the Falklands War. A number of local families were unfortunate in that their loved ones didn’t return. For others, they now live in Falkland Way, so named by a local builder to pay tribute to those who lost their lives in the conflict. THis also resulted in many local

people attending rallies to demonstrate with their ‘Ban the bomb’ banners.

THe year 1982 brought with it interesting visitors such as Esther Rantzen playing Dick Whittington at the Regis Centre and including the controversy of her husband, Desmond Wilcox, passing negative comments about the town. It is thought he was trying to following in the tracks of King George V. THere was a large amount of interest on the Aldwick Bay Estate when it was learned Earl Spencer was to purchase property on the Estate. It was thought that when his daughter Diana was eventually to visit her father with her children they would come here to play with their grandfather, as Elizabeth did with her grandfather, King George V. Sometimes, when you read the papers, some of the comments make you believe you are reading today’s paper. One such is when a pensioner in Middleton claimed the local bus service was ‘plain daft’ because the buses would arrive at the railway station five minutes after the trains had left. THe buses are, of course, still featuring in the news.

During the course of the decade, shops and premises closed and others took their place.

For example, during 1982, Cambridge House was to be demolished in Clarence Road, while the town lost a number of shops, such as Wood’s, Hepworth’s and the Hilton shoe shop. However, during the year, a large new store opened - that of Presto’s, then Safeway and today, Morrisons.

Can you remember which year we had the water strike? It was actually 1983 and standpipes were brought into use for a few families in Rose Green. During the year, water

was again in the news when Butlin’s opened its £200,000 fun pool and, still connected with water, we had a worrying time when Weymouth announced it would like to take the Birdman Rally away from the town.

As the decade drew to a close, we were treated to many special press publications announcing who was who in the town - companies such as Jennings Office Equipment, the main Rosemount Engineering Company and Weir Electronics.

Sadly, these have now gone from the scene.

One of the events I can well remember from this period was the annual trade exhibitions that took place within the Regis Centre and an outside marquee. THe first of these was in 1983 and were of great interest to residents, but also a good ‘shop window’ for many of our local companies.

Local house prices are always quite interesting. During the early 1980s, we could have purchased a detached seafront bungalow at Felpham for £37,500. THere were also ‘period cottages’ available in the town centre for a mere £34,950! However, flats were much cheaper with a two-bedroom property in the town centre for £28,950.

THe year 1987 saw the town celebrating its 200th anniversary as a purpose-built seaside resort; in 1989 there was a celebration for the 60th anniversary of the ‘Regis’ suffix.

Campaigners were trying to save the Victorian railway station and others were trying to stop the building of the refuse site at Lidsey. THere continued to be uncertainty over the Regis Centre and town councillors were fighting to stop the town hall being sold for development.

Blues' top four ambitions remain PostSport despite away defeat to high-flyers CHICHESTER RFC will be hoping to finish the season on a high and nail down a top four finish. With the Blues having Easter weekend off, Scott Ashley's side have time to regroup and focus on the final three matches of the London One South campaign.

Even with two matches away from Oaklands Park, Chi's run in looks favourable on paper, with all their remaining games against sides in the bottom six.

However, after a 29-15 defeat away at second-place Medway last weekend, Blues know they need one more win to seal that top four spot.

THat defeat also means that Chi know they can no longer catch local rivals Havant who are now 16 points clear in third.

Chi made five changes to the squad that drew at London Cornish last time out, with Ben Deavall, Joe Woods, Declan Johnson, Nick Blount and Chris Johnson starting in the pack. But it was the home side that made the better start, heading into a 8-0 lead.

Chi found their stride soon with Chris Johnson touching down after a powerful driving maul and then Harry Seaman crossing to put them into 10-8 lead.

Medway hit back with another penalty to go in at the break in the lead.

Into the second period and the Kent side came out on the front foot, scoring 13 points in 15 minutes to take control of the match.

Chi would not give up, though, and a sparkling counter resulted in Ben Robson beating two defenders to touch down for their third try. Try as they might further scores did not follow. Instead, Medway crossed in the closing moments to seal the win.

Blues return to action on April 7 when they head to second-bottom Maidstone (3pm). * Bognor RFC go in to the Easter weekend on a high after crushing Alresford 52-18 on the road.

Centre Sam Newcombe took the plaudits, scoring a hat-trick in the bonus-point victory.

THose five points have sealed second spot for the Purple and Greens in Hampshire One. While they still have two matches left, Bognor are now ten points behind unbeaten league leaders United Services Portsmouth, which means they have to all but settle for the runners up spot.

THey return to action on April 7 with a home match against Isle of Wight (3pm).

DARTS: Jack Danahar and Richard Ragless left friendships well away from the oche as they sank QE2 teammates Wayne Wadsworth and Cliff Prior to take the Double In Double Out Darts League division one pairs title.

A dozen teams took part in the competition at the Newtown Social Club.

Both Wadsworth and Prior and Danahar and Ragless sealed their spots in the final with comfortable semi final victories to make it an all QE2 affair.

THe best-of-five legs showdown saw Prior win the bullseye over Ragless to get the first throw.

A 180 followed from Prior on his second throw put them in the lead.

But a 140 from Ragless, sandwiched by 99 & 97 from Danahar, gave them a chance.

Despite multiple doubles misses from both sides, Ragless eventually hit the double for the first leg.

140s from both Prior and Danahar saw a close second leg. Wadsworth missed double 8 for the leg, as did Prior, allowing Danahar to leave double top for Ragless, which he hit to go 2-0 up.

Falcons sign off season on a high

CHICHESTER Falcons Softball Club rounded off the indoor season with some silverware after a great team tournament performance.

Sides from across the south travelled to Portsmouth for the annual Tom Prince Indoor Softball Tournament.

After a slow start and a defeat to Maidenhead, the Falcons picked up the pace in their second game against the Solent Sluggers.

Hettie McNeil on first base and pitcher Jason Mercer were an unbreakable defence in the first innings and, in the second, the alert infield pairing of James Wheeler and Mike Moore continued to frustrate the opposition.

A superb tag at second base and a breathtaking triple play from shortstop Cary Chen helped see the Falcons take the match 23-6.

With further wins, they eventually progressed into the silver final, facing league rivals Southsea Sharks.

THe Chichester defence remained strong, with junior Jenny Horton taking a number of flyball catches at left field, leaving the Sharks frustrated.

THe Falcons batted well and edged slightly ahead. But in the second innings Chichester really let the bats swing and a flurry of home runs put the Falcons out of sight and to an eventual 24-14 win and silverware to end the indoor season.

Attention now turns to the outdoor season with practice sessions for all ages underway at their home in Oaklands Park.

Chi have a teeball team for ages seven to ten, a fastpitch juniors team for ages 11-16 and an adults slowpitch team for 16 and up.

Both teams are mixed, so boys and girls play in the same team.

With an informal and competitive playing style, the Falcons continue to go from strength to strength each year.

All Ragless needed was one dart to hit double 16, for a 16 dart leg, the match win, making himself and Danahar the Division One Pairs Champions.

Division Two saw 19 pairs turn up and the final was contested between Trish Kidd and Andy Cooper (Cabin Cruisers) and Andy Chant and Rob Rice (Chi Snooker Club).

THe first two legs were shared. But in the third Kidd and Cooper began to take charge.

Cooper hit double ten to take the third leg and strong scores of 81 from Cooper, and 125 from Kidd put them in the driving seat.

THey didn't miss out, with Cooper taking one dart to hit double 16 to take the win and the trophy.

SHORT MAT BOWLS: After winning the league last weekend, Boxgrove-based Infinity completed the double by lifting the Knockout Cup. In the semi-final, the team overcame THe Martlets. On mat one, John Simms, Steve Jeffery, Jack Rollings and Charlotte Rollings had a good match, finally winning 21-12. On mat two, Chris Jeffery, Denise Kirby, Chris Page and Richard Jeffery won 38-8.

Infinity then followed that up with a convincing victory over Lavant. On mat one, the team won 37-9 while mat two resulted in a 26-8 scoreline.

Infinity have won the Cup for the last four years but it was the first time since forming eight years ago they have won the League.

'We're ahead of our target' CHICHESTER City Ladies manager Matt Wright says his side have already surpassed his points tally for the season after a 1-0 victory over Gillingham all but secured their FA Premier League South status for next season.

Competing at step three of the women's game for the first time, Chi have looked at ease against sides with far more experience.

Even an injury crisis, frustration at cancelled games and a late switch of venue to Bognor's Nyewood Lane did not throw them from their stride, with Jess Lewry's goal giving them the win against the Gills.

THe Kent side had a host of opportunities to score but were continuously denied by Chi's keeper Sadie WilsonBlakely as the home side recorded their fourth clean sheet of the season.

THose three points put Chi into seventh in the 12 team division with seven matches still to play.

Speaking after the match, Wright said: “THat was by far our worst performance of the season and we needed to show we were better than that.

“Every time we gain points in the league we further surpass the predicted total I was targeting."

Chi have struggled with injuries in recent weeks with five players on the treatment table.

THere is also the frustration of the fixture list with Sunday’s game only the fifth competitive game since the New Year and the second since the 4-0 win over Gillingham on November 26.

Postponements because of the weather and cup ties have ripped apart the schedule.

Even with seven matches still to come, it's three weeks until Chi return to action.

THe manager was full of praise for his players nonetheless, saying: “THe fragmented nature of the season is hard to deal with, that’s our first league home game since November 19.

“Regardless of this, the players have continued to train hard and have really shown a high level of dedication to the club.

“We will now spend the next three weeks getting ourselves ready for the away game to Coventry United.”

PAGHAM'S promotion credentials will be put to the test as they face two crucial matches in four days.

With just seven games of the league campaign to go, the Lions sit second in the SCFL Premier - just three points behind league leaders Horsham YMCA. THeir hopes were boosted in the past week after taking four points from six as others around them dropped points.

But Easter will provide a stern test for Richie Hellen and Tom Simmonds' side - with a tough away match at AFC Uckfield tomorrow (3pm) followed by a derby day showdown with Chichester City at Nyetimber Lane on Monday (11am).

Even though their local rivals have slipped to sixth, they remain in the hunt for the two promotion places - which puts more pressure on the Easter Monday showdown.

Lions' fans will be hoping for a repeat of last Saturday's performance when Pagham came from 2-0 down to Newhaven to score three times in the last 13 minutes to seal the win.

THe hero was top-scorer Dan Simmonds, who bagged a hat-trick in the comeback.

But Simmonds and his fellow freescorers were unable to repeat the trick in midweek when the Lions drew a blank for the first time in the league since January 6.

Derby day looms for Chichester

CHICHESTER City will be out for revenge as they prepare for a derby day showdown with Pagham which could decide their promotion fate. Miles Rutherford's title chasers are still bruised after the Lions smashed five past them on Boxing Day. With both sides in contention for promotion to Isthmian South, Easter Monday's showdown at Nyetimber Lane means there will be even more at stake than local pride.

A bumper crowd is expected to see if Chi, who are sixth in the SCFL Premier, can exact revenge on their near neighbours. But their

preparations have been far from smooth in a run that has seen them win just once in four matches.

THe latest was a 1-1 draw at AFC Uckfield Town, when a Kaleem Haitham strike was wiped out by a late equaliser which saw City drop two vital points in the race for the title.

THat sequence of results has seen them slip down the table. But, with other sides also slipping up, they are only six points off league leaders Horsham YMCA with a game in hand.

In SCFL Division One, Selsey are hunting their first win in five as they look to stop the slump. THe Blues have struggled in recent weeks, the latest reverse seeing them lose 4-1 at home to Lingfield last weekend.

THe visitors, who are third, were in control throughout with a late Morgan Forry strike a consolation for the Blues.

Next up for eighth-placed Selsey is a trip to Bexhill United tomorrow (3pm), before visiting Wick on Easter Monday (11am).

In SCFL Division Two, Sidlesham will be hoping to play their first match in over a month when they welcome Montpelier Villa to the Recreation Ground tomorrow (3pm).

Daren Pearce's side are still in the hunt for promotion back to senior football, even if bad weather has been against them in recent weeks. With three games in hand, Sids know that a couple of wins can put them right back in the promotion race. THen, Easter Monday will see them head to near neighbours Bosham (11am).

THe Robins have been on an excellent run of late, winning six on the bounce which has put them in the race for the top two spots.

Before welcoming their near neighbours, Bosham have a match with Worthing Town tomorrow (3pm).

Broom sweeps away rivals to win city race WILL BROOM was the first across the line as the 2018 Chichester Corporate Challenge came to a close.

More than 800 runners of all ages took part in the series of street races which took place on three Wednesday evenings in the city centre. THe third and final leg on March 21 turned out to be the most popular of the 2018 series, with Broom leading the field of nearly 400 adult racers home around the 4,500m track. His time of 13 minutes 24 seconds was ten seconds faster than his nearest competitor, Edward Dodd (Russell Giles Partnership - 13:34) and Havant's Chirs Spinks (13:36) in third.

Rhiannon Dunlop of Portsmouth City Runners continued her fine form to win the

women's race in 15:19 (32nd overall). THis was more than 30 seconds quicker than Charlotte Bowsher and Lucy THraves who came second and third in an identical time of 16:03.

Broom's sparkling run also inspired his team called Conrad's Lads to first place in the sports club competition with the quartet of Leo Stallard, Ben Collins and Ned Potter clocking a combined 55:33.

THe corporate crown was taken by Russell Giles Partnership (58:28) while the women's team title was won by DSTL Portsdown (1:03:21).

Before the adult race, more than 400 youngsters took part in a series of youth races.

THe results from the final leg will be added to the previous two legs for the overall winner.

Time running out for Bognor as relegation looms for club Next Game

CHELMSFORD CITY (H) Today, 3pm

THE ROCKS' revolution must start now if Bognor are to avoid the drop.

For much of the season, Jack Pearce's side have been sat in the relegation zone of National South.

With just nine games to go, time is running out for Bognor to start winning games and close the 13 point gap to safety.

Last weekend saw another potential chance to pick up a positive result fall by the wayside as a battling Weston-Super-Mare side defeated Bognor 1-0 away from home.

THat loss meant that the Rocks side had to make the long journey back from the west country with plenty to think on.

One thing that they will realise is that the Easter period is perhaps their last chance to pull themselves to start the recovery.

Today (Friday) at 3pm, play-off chasing Chelmsford City visit Nyewood Lane.

THen, on Easter Monday (3pm) Bognor head along the Sussex coast to near neighbours Eastbourne Borough to face their Sussex rivals under the direction of former manager Jamie Howell.

Both opponents are experiencing their own form problems.

THe Essex side have won just once in the past five matches in a run which has seen them drop out of the top seven.

Borough, meanwhile, may be in relative safety of 15th in the 22-team division but until

two recent wins they were in danger of being sucked into a relegation battle.

THese facts do give Bognor hope going into the double header.

But they mask truths which will hurt even the most positive of Rocks fans.

THey have been rooted in the relegation zone for seven of the past eight months.

THey have won just four matches in the league all season.

And with only nine matches of the season to go, they will need to more than double that tally to make up the 13 point gap.

A month ago there was hope.

But a run of what on paper looked like winnable games have not been kind to the Rocks, meaning that instead of points, Bognor have just been left with disappointment and ruing missed chances.

It was the same story on Saturday when Pearce's side had the better of the opening exchanges until Weston took the lead on 20 minutes.

After a quick break with a ball across the box, it was Kenan Dunnwald that poked in on his second attempt after being blocked with his first chance.

THen, after that, Bognor dominated possession and had the better chances. But even, with the addition of on-loan striker Justin Amaluzor, they could not find the breakthrough.

New boy has goals in his sights GOALS win matches. It's a cliche said and heard a million times over by football fans across the globe.

And Rocks fans know the score all too well this season as their side have struggled to find the back of the net. Bad fortune has some part to play in it with suspensions and injuries stopping key personnel from getting a run in the side.

But some would argue that even Lady Luck would struggle to get goals in a side which have lacked the killer edge for too long.

At the last count, Bognor had scored just four goals in nine matches, a run which has seen just four points collected.

THe latest player to pick up the goalscoring mantle is Justin Amaluzor, a 20 year old forward who has joined on loan from Barnet FC. With some 20 first team matches in the Football League behind him, the frontman has experience at a high level.

Loan spells at Hayes and Yeading, Hemel Hempstead Town and Hampton & Richmond will also stand in him good stead.

Amaluzor showed some good glimpses in his Bognor debut away at Weston last weekend. But matches are running out for the Rocks and the burden of firing a club to safety is a lot to place on young shoulders.

WATCHING the Rocks is never boring.

Despite current form, and the way the team are performing on the pitch, the coach trip to Weston super Mare with the Bognor fans was a real treat.

It was such a laugh to be around like-minded people who are all passionate about BRTFC. You wouldn’t have thought that we were second from bottom and staring relegation in the face.

Bumping into the team coach is always a pleasure and we did just that at the services en route to the game.

After getting quick photos with the latest offer at the stop off - garden gnomes - as Rocks fans chuckled jokingly at Doug Tuck meeting his long-lost brother, it was off to see Bognor fall to a 1-0 defeat. But I enjoyed the trip regardless.

THis was my third time of having travelled to Weston and I think this was the first occasion I have seen the Rocks lose.

As for garden gnomes Richard Essen (Rocks fan and volunteer) only went and bought one at the services station. Top man!

All of the puns never stopped all the way there and back. Oh, and Italian Rocks fan Sergio made the decision to jump on the players' coach at the services. Watch out for those roundabouts!

'Sat Nav Serg’, as he is affectionately known on the coach trips, is one of the many regular travellers on the coach trips. On the way up, I thought it was a nice gesture that Jack gave us some money (£80) for a drink for all the fans in the bar before kick off.

A deflected strike was the main difference at Weston, again a mistake costing us - the story of our season so

far really. THe game lacked quality at times and I felt we lacked in goal-scoring opportunities.

THe Welling United home game before this was particularly disappointing and, unfortunately, at least two of their goals I felt were very soft.

We had chances to get back into that game, but we didn’t take them and that was the only difference I felt.

I was impressed by both Welling and Weston and how well they kept the ball and moved it forward quickly.

THis is where we have fallen short recently.

When we win the ball back we appear to lose it in a dangerous area, with a loose pass or putting the ball out of play needlessly.

In my opinion, as long as the players have a real go at goal but fail then at least that is something. We can’t be afraid to fail from now until the end of the season as we have nothing to lose.

THere was noticeable upset from a section of fans behind the goal at the Weston game.

I can fully understand the frustration - but we all are feeling it at the moment.

We have been spoilt with success in the past few seasons and I think this season everyone thought we could stay up.

I read the comments on the message board but tend not to comment much, instead leaving my comments to this column.

It’s important that we all stay on the same page and fight to the end. Because this team will give it their all until the end of the season - that’s a fact.
