Patients in town could move HEALTH services in Bognor Regis town centre could be moved. NHS managers are considering shifting the work carried out in Bognor Health Centre to the town's war memorial hospital. The transfer is one of the options being considered for the future of the 1970s building as part of the regeneration ideas put forward by Arun District Council for the Hothamton site. The GP services in the health centre are

run by NHS Coastal West Sussex Clinical Commissioning Group. The health centre has four GPs and a host of nursing staff who look after 9,153 patients, according to the latest statistics from last April. A CCG spokeswoman said: "We are in regular contact with Arun District Council about the plans to transform the West Street/Steyne Street area of Bognor Regis. There are a number of options on

the table. "The council has suggested a new health facility as part of the development and we are also looking at whether it would improve what is available for local people by co-locating services at the war memorial hospital. "We will continue our planning with the council, in particular in relation to the funding available and together we will make sure that we have the right

service provision for people in Bognor Regis now and for the future." The health centre, in West Street, sits at the southern end of the Hothamton car park and opposite the sunken gardens. Arun's latest plans for a linear park, with flats, for the area were subject to a consultation event last month.
