Here’s another case of not all heroes wear capes! Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and the City of Kissimmee Fire Department recently joined together to celebrate and recognize members of the KFD and 911 dispatchers who swiftly and courageously responded to several near-drowning incidents over the summer.

Also recognized were Kissimmee Police Department Telecommunicators that provided CPR instructions and dispatched the fire department, medics, and arranged air transport to airlift the patient to Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children.

In recognition of their exceptional service, KFD and Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children awarded them certificates and challenge coins.

The Kissimmee Fire Department is reminding the community that drowning can happen quickly and silently. Always stay vigilant, be mindful of how important water safety is, and never leave children unattended – for even a short period of time. Positively Osceola would like to thank everyone at the Kissimmee Fire Department for making a positive difference in and around Kissimmee… every day!
