Major League Fishing’s Abu Garcia College Fishing National Championship set to return to Kissimmee’s Lake Toho in 2024

For the second consecutive year, the best college fishing anglers from across the country will be visiting Lake Toho in Kissimmee to crown the top college fishing team in the nation.

Major League Fishing, the world’s largest tournament-fishing organization, in conjunction with the Kissimmee Sports Commission, announced today that the 2024 Abu Garcia College Fishing Presented by YETI National Championship, the national championship of college bass fishing, will take place on Lake Toho in Kissimmee, Jan. 9-11, in 2024.

St. Cloud Police Utilizing State-of-the-Art Interactive Training Simulator

The St. Cloud Police Department open its doors to the media on Friday to showcase its new VirTra interactive training simulator. The simulator, which cost approximately $315,000, is used to train officers in a variety of scenarios, including de-escalation, judgmental use of force, and active shooter response.

“We are excited to add this stateof-the-art simulator to our training arsenal,” said Police Chief Douglas Goerke. “This simulator will allow us to provide our officers with realistic and challenging training that will help them make the best decisions in critical situations.”
