Xanadu to “wheel” onto the Osceola Arts Main Stage Beginning July 21

Osceola Arts, Osceola County’s non-profit advocate for the arts, will feature jukebox musical comedy “Xanadu” beginning Friday, July 21st and running through Sunday, August 6th.

Based on the Universal Pictures cult classic movie of the same name, Xanadu follows struggling artist Sonny in search of inspiration when a beautiful Greek muse descends from Mount Olympus and encourages him to build the world’s greatest creation…a Roller Disco! Director Katie Dumoulin brings a talented cast together with a sprinkle of glitter, a dash of neon, and some legendary pop tunes…a perfect fit for a celebration of Summer!

Tickets are only $28, with Senior, student and group rates available. Showtimes for Xanadu are 7:30pm on Fridays and Saturdays, 2pm on Sundays, and an additional 2pm matinee performance on Saturday, August 5th. An American Sign Language-interpreted performance will be featured during the August 5th matinee. This production will also include an Audio Description performance for blind and low-vision patrons on Saturday, July 29th at 7:30pm.

Osceola County Weather: More Heat, More Humidity Across Osceola with Heavy Afternoon Rain Likely

Happy Wednesday Osceola! Rain chances will stay high at 60% today in Osceola County, with the majority of storms arriving after 2 pm. Expect a few heavy downpours along with thunder and dangerous lightening. We’ll see a high temperature of 94°, but it will feel well over 100 degrees. Rain chances drop to 50% for the rest of the week. which will cause temperatures to rise into the mid-90s. If you’re headed to the theme parks bring some rain gear for the afternoon, and be sure to stay hydrated at all times, and use sunscreen for you and the kiddos. Here’s the Positively Osceola day-by-day and week-ahead weather forecast:

Osceola County School Board member Julius Melendez accused of inappropriate conduct by 18-year-old girl, Sheriff’s Office says

2 Julius Melendez is facing allegations of potential inappropriate conduct by an 18-year-old girl.

According to the Osceola Sheriff’s Office, a complaint was forwarded to them on July 1st by the Osceola County School District after an 18-year-old girl accused School Board Member Julius Melendez of inappropriate conduct.

According to the 18-year-old girl who posted about the incident on her Facebook profile, she began working at Susana’s on April 29th but quit after the incident with Melendez took place on June 29th.

The jackpot ranks as the seventh largest U.S. lottery jackpot and third largest Powerball jackpot, only behind the world record $2.04 billion Powerball jackpot won last year, and the $1.586 billion Powerball jackpot won in 2016.

SeaWorld Orlando’s Concert Series to Feature Don Felder and Rodney Atkins This Weekend in Nautilus Theatre

SeaWorld Orlando’s Concert Series continues this weekend inside its Nautilus Theatre with former Eagles member Don Felder on Saturday at 6pm, and Rodney Atkins on Sunday at 6pm. All concerts are included with park admission, but seats are limited in the theatre. Reserved and VIP seats are available for purchase at SeaWorldOrlando.com.

Don Felder is best known for his work as a guitarist with the legendary rock band, the Eagles. Felder joined the Eagles in 1974 and quickly became a pivotal member of the group, contributing both as a guitarist and a songwriter. He played a significant role in shaping the band’s iconic sound, contributing memorable guitar solos and harmonies to many of their classic hits.
