Inner wheel club donates plastic tables Inner wheel club of Madras south donated plastic tables to 1st Std. students of Panchayat Union Middle School , Madanandhapuram. They already donated plastic chairs to the same children. Gayathiri Ramadoss (President of IWC of Madras South) was present in the event. Children were happy for the colourful table.

Commemorative stamp released on the 90th birth anniversary of MLV
Union Defence Minister Nirmala Sitaraman released the commemorative stamp on the 90th birth anniversary of Dr ML Vasanthakumari and souvenir was also released on the occasion in honour of ML Vasanthakumari. Manoj Sinha (Minister of State for Communication (Independent Charge) and Minister of State for Railways), N. Murali (President of the Music Academy) and R.Seshasayee (chairman of Indus Ind Bank) were the special guests. Sampath Kumar of Postal Department was also present in the event. The programme was organized by Sudha Ragunathan, Managing Trustee of Samudhaaya foundation and disciples of Dr ML Vasanthakumari.

Indian Medical Association celebrates Doctor’s day Indian Medical Association (Porur branch) celebrated National Doctors Day on July 1. Dr. M.K. Sudhakar (President of IMA Porur) conveyed his National Doctors Day wishes to all members and unveiled the portrait of Bharat Ratna Dr. B.C. Roy. Ramki, Artist from Porur was honoured for his colourful work. Dr.A. Shanmugam (MD Associate Professor of Diabetology), Stanley Medical College delivered a scholarly lecture on Gestational Diabetes Mellitus - case based approach”. Dr.S. Abdul Rahman & Dr. Dhanarathnamoorthy enthralled the audience with a key board and guitar performance. The vote of thanks was given by Dr. S.R.Ramakrishnan (Vice President of IMA Porur).
Walkathon for senior citizens on July.8 Vishranthi Charitable Trust along with Rotary Club of Madras and WSquare organizes walkathon for senior citizens to promote Elder Care and Shelter on July 8 from 8.00 a.m. to 9.00 a.m. starting from Palkalai Nagar to MGR Salai Palavakkam. P.N.Mohan and Heart Surgeon Dr. Priya Chockalingam will be flagging off the event amidst senior citizens, students and women. This event is held in celebration of the 40th Year Anniversary of Vishranthi Charitable Trust currently housing 192 Women above the age of 60+ years who have either been abandoned or have voluntarily decided to be a part of the community.
