Green Valley Mart sale Patanjali products Cado Alpha is an Intercollegiate competition that seeks to bring out the best among the cadets across the state, to the grounds of Alpha Arts and Science College (AASC). Organised by AASC of 1 (TN) Armoured Squadron NCC, this is an opportunity for cadets to exhibit their comradeship. This ultimate aim of “Cado Alpha” is to motivate the cadets to take part in the RDC, TSC, VSC and NSC held at New Delhi. On Feb 25th and 26th, Alpha NCC Unit [1 (TN) Armd Sqn NCC], organized Cado Alpha for the third consecutive year. Col. G. D. James, Officer Commanding, 1(TN) Armd Sqn NCC Inaugurated 3rd Cado Alpha- 2017 and delivered the inaugural
address. Around 600 cadets from 20 different colleges actively participated in this NCC Competition. 1st day, Drill Competencies such as Contingent Drill, Guard of Honour, Individual Drill and Thal Sainik events such as Kholna Jholna, Tent Pitching abilities of cadets from other colleges was tested by instructors of Officers Training Academy, St. Thomas Mount. Firing Capabilities of Cadets was also tested by Mr. Balaji Dayalan, Former Indian Renowned Rifle Shooting Champion, Director, Aim for Gold Firing Academy. 2nd day started with the Cross Country, followed by Debate, GK Paper Pen Test, Flag Area, Best Cadet event was conducted
by Mr.Abhishek, best Cadet - Gold Medallist - 2013, Airwing, SRM. Cultural Competitions such as Solo Instrumental, NIAP (National Integration Awareness Programme), Group Song, Group Dance were the events conducted. Col. G. D. James, Officer Commanding, 1(TN) Armd Sqn NCC, and Mr. George John AGI, being our Guest of Honour for the valedictory function, received Guard of Honour and delivered a Special Motivational speech. Dr. D. Ashalatha, Principal, AASC, presided the function. Ms. Geetharvi, Vice Principal addressed the gathering. At last Col. G. D. James, handed over prizes to the winners of all events, and also presented Dr. Ambedkar law niversity
(TNDALU) College the 3rd Cado Alpha 2017 overall Banner and Trophy. CSUO. S. Jaikumar thanked all the cadets participated in the Competitions. The programme came to a memorable end with NCC Song National Anthem. In Short, All Cadets have shown Strong Determination and commitment in participating and organizing the Cado Alpha. Mr. Bala Samuvel J., 1(TN) Armd Sqn NCC coordinated 3rd Cado Alpha 2017. The pain staking efforts of NCC Cadets and Ex. NCC Cadets has made 3rd Cado Alpha 2017 a successful NCC Inter Collegiate Competition which helped in taping the talents of the cadets and also in exhibiting their comradeship.
NGO cleans public places, invites volunteers
‘Thuvakkam’ an NGO based in Chennai conducted a drive to clean government higher secondary School in KK Nagar. Around 40 volunteers of the NGO participated in the drive through which they cleaned the school, removed the posters and
painted the walls of the school and helped clearing encroachments on the nearby streets. The volunteers completed the work within 12 hours. The task was carried out with the help of city police. One of the volunteers
told this reporter that they take up such work from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. to avoid disturbances from various ways like traffic, noise etc. Nippon paint was the official color partner for the drive. It invites people in Chennai to send a photography of public places like School,

Celebrates 98 birth anniversary of DKP
The 98th birth anniversary of D.K Pattammal, who was renowned Carnatic musician and playback singer for film songs of many Indian languages, will be celebrated on March 26, at 6.15 p.m at Bharathiya Vidya Bavan (Mylapore, Chennai).
