With the objective of contributing to the growth of Digital India and considering the need for promoting better understanding of net banking and other digi-
tal systems amongst the vendors and service providers in unorganized sector, Nandini Voice for the Deprived would conduct special training programme. The programme includes the procedures for net banking, online payment of property tax, electricity bill, train ticket booking, usage of e wallet and PayTm. Duration of programme will be two weeks with
duration of two hours each day. Eligibility Persons presently involved in tiny level vendor activities in the unorganized sector can join the programme. There will be no course fee. DATRI conducts ‘Walkathan’ on Feb.5 To commemorate the world cancer day (Feb.4), Datri (a blood stem cell donors registry functioning at TICEL Bio Park Phase II, 12th floor, CSIR Road, Taramani, Chennai 600113) has organized ‘Walkathon’ on Sunday, February 5 at Marina Beach, Chennai. The walk will start from Labour Statue and will end at light house covering a distance of 6 km.
According to its press release, the walk is organized to create awareness on how blood cancers are curable. The world cancer day is observed to save millions of preventable deaths each year by raising awareness and educating about the disease, pressing governments and its agencies across the world to take action’ it said. Apart from creating
awareness, it also plans to register potential blood stem cell donors. Those who want to take part in the walk should register in advance. The registration fee is Rs.300 but students are allowed free. About 300 persons are expected to participate in the walk. For registrations and details contact 73388 54571.

Free eye screening camp was held on R Day
Lions Club of Chennai Green City (Dist. 324-A1) in association with Agarwal eye hospitals organised Free Eye Screening Camp at Vadapalani as part of the 68th Republic Day celebrate. The free eye screening
camp was inaugurated by K. Gopinath, State General Secretary of Tamilnadu Udavikkaram Association for the Welfare of Differently Abled (TNUAWDA). More than 200 persons participated in the camp.
High Court of Madras Advocate K. Venkatesh, Lions Dist. Chairperson N. Kannan, Club president G. Gangadurai and other dignitaries were participated in the function. Earlier flag hoisting was done.
The Avadhoota Datta Peetham (Velachery) has organized a mass hanuman chalisa parayanam (chanting) between 4.30 p.m. and 7.30 p.m. on Jan.29 at A.M. Jain College Grounds, Meenambakkkam. Sri Ganapathi Sachidhanandha Swamiji will lead the chanting. All are welcome to participate in this

Menaga wins silver medal in skating compettion Ms. Menaga of Std 6 from The Schram Academy International School (Maduravoyal, Chennai) participated in the CBSE national skating championship 2016 and won Silver medal in the Rink three, 1000 meters race. She was honored with a certificate too. The event was conducted at DAV International School, Amritsar, Punjab. Menaga also prepares to participate in the Tamilnadu Chief Minister scholarship award skating meet.
