LIVING PORTSIDE WHARF THE PERFECT ALTERNATIVE FOR SYDNEY INVESTORS

For Sydney businesswoman and property investor Kylie Ferrington, the luxury apartment building, Pinnacle, at Brisbane’s Portside Wharf community on the river in Hamilton, represented the perfect strategic buying opportunity. With commercial property investments in Sydney and a busy business to run, Ms Ferrington was looking to expand her investment holdings and wanted to find an alternative to the high priced Sydney property sector. “I wanted to diversify my investment portfolio but with prices in Sydney as high as they are, I started to look at possibilities elsewhere,” she said. “I ultimately chose Portside Wharf for a number of reasons including the development’s proximity to the Brisbane CBD and the great amenities at the doorstep including cafés, restaurants and bars. “It also has a very upmarket feel which appealed to me.” The Sydney Upper North Shore resident purchased a two bedroom apartment with study nook and river views on the fourth level of Pinnacle, the sixth residential stage of Portside Wharf. Brookfield Residential Properties General Manager Lee Butterworth said Portside Wharf had attracted interstate buyers since its launch in 2004. “Portside Wharf has always appealed to interstate purchasers, particularly from Sydney and Melbourne, who find excellent value for money in its riverside position and proximity to the CBD,” he said.

“This strong interest from buyers south of the boarder has increased in our latest stage, Pinnacle, which has sold several apartments to a mix of interstate investors, owner occupiers and first home buyers.” Sales in Pinnacle have reached more than $110 million with remaining apartments priced from $650,000 for two bedrooms, two bathrooms and secure car parking. Mr Butterworth said Pinnacle’s absolute riverfront position atop a lively dining, shopping and entertainment precinct was a huge drawcard for buyers. “Pinnacle represents a rare living opportunity and interstate purchasers, in particular, are surprised to find such luxury at such an affordable price,” he said. Pinnacle comprises 162 one, two and three bedroom apartments, two-level River Terraces and luxury penthouses with over 70 per cent of apartments boasting captivating river views. The building also features a rooftop sanctuary for residents with an infinity-edged pool, barbeque and entertainment area and stunning views over the Brisbane River, across the city and to the northern suburbs. Apartments in Pinnacle boast superior features and fittings with European appliances, integrated dishwasher and microwave, ducted air-conditioning, high ceilings, high quality wool carpets, floor to ceiling windows, ample storage, intercom security and secure car parking. The building is the sixth residential stage of Portside Wharf, which is located just six kilometres from the CBD, 15 minutes from the domestic and international airports and with easy access to major roads and public transport including the CityCat.
