RETIREES REACH PINNACLE AS THREE BEDDERS NEAR SELL OUT The chance to buy a three-bedroom apartment in Brookfield Residential Properties’ Pinnacle at Portside Wharf is fast diminishing, with just one remaining in the latest stage of the riverfront development.

Pinnacle has achieved more than $89 million in sales and is now more than 66 per cent sold with construction set to be complete in the first half of 2015.

One couple who have purchased a three bedroom apartment on level six is Marie and Tony Steele and they are counting the days until they can move in.

Mrs Steele said they will move from their large family home in Ashgrove and cannot wait to take up residence at Portside Wharf.

“Our two children have grown up and moved away to Sydney and Melbourne so we had this big house and only two of us living in it,” said Marie.

“We decided to sell and started to look around at apartments and townhouses from the Sunshine Coast to Brisbane.

“Most of what we saw looked compact and confined and didn’t have a feeling of space, but with Pinnacle, it is so airy and open and provided everything we wanted.

“The views are incredible and the apartment is so spacious, it will be perfect for when our children come home to visit.

“We also love that we can lock it up and leave it to go travelling and not have any worries about security or maintenance.”

She said the location at Portside Wharf was also a major contributing factor in their decision to purchase.

“The shops, bars and restaurants are right at our doorstep, the airport is close by and if we want to go into the city for dinner or entertainment we have the CityCat and don’t need to worry about driving the car,” she said.

“We also love going to the movies so we are thrilled to have a Dendy Cinema literally in our backyard.”

Pinnacle is the precinct’s absolute riverfront apartment building, standing at 15 levels with a rooftop infinity pool, barbecue and entertainment area and gymnasium.

Sales figures for 2014 reached over $50 million in the Hamilton precinct, which is the largest mixed-use community in the greater Northshore Hamilton development.

Brookfield Residential Properties General Manager Lee Butterworth said Portside Wharf was popular with buyers moving from the family home as it offered apartment living without compromising on space.

“The majority of buyers at Pinnacle are owner occupiers from the local area who are making the move from a house to apartment,” he said.
