THE HELLO HARRY

philosophy

Good burgers, served fast - that’s the simple philosophy of Hello Harry, Portside Wharf’s new ‘no fuss’ burger joint. According to two-hatted chef Tony Kelly, one half of the team behind the Hello Harry concept, there’s no fluff and dagger in the dining room. Instead they have put all the money into the kitchen to employ quality chefs and source the best ingredients so they can keep serving up exceptional burgers. There are nine burgers on the menu, all served on a housemade brioche bun, with rotating weekly specials. The good news is, gluten free buns are available!

TRAVEL TO JAPAN

BRISBANE’S

longest

ITALIAN LUNCH Gusto da Gianni is celebrating Christmas in July with an Italian twist, for the second year running on Sunday, July 24. Celebrate ‘Buon Natale in July’ at Brisbane’s longest peasant table, set on the banks of the river at Portside Wharf. Last year over 200 people indulged in the traditional Italian fare where the wine and conversation flowed long into the afternoon. Enjoy a starter, entree, the main affair and dessert for just $65 per person. Bookings are essential.

WINTER WARMERS Cruisers Café Bar and Grill has all the classic comfort dishes you need to stay warm and satisfied throughout the cooler months. Warm up your body and delight your tastebuds with a variety of scrumptious dishes good enough to draw you out of the house on those chilly winter nights including lamb shanks so tender the meat falls off the bones, and a slowcooked lamb ragu. Remember Cruisers is open for dinner Wednesday to Saturday nights.

Fashion TIME TO

layer up...

Many women are afraid to layer their clothes for fear of looking bigger than they actually are. In fact a perfectly layered look will complement your curves and create the illusion of a more proportional silhouette. The team at Costa Moda has found that several layers of light weight knits together with a statement scarf are warm without the chunky look of bulky jumpers. Being able to remove or add a layer as the temperature rises and falls works perfectly for our Queensland climate and is an ideal way to dress and pack when travelling.

9

Urbbana takes dapper dressing to a new level with the Chicago dark blue shoes for men. Made by hand in Turkey, the flamboyant design features brushed, embossed, laser-cut calfskin on the exterior and lining for a luxe look and feel. Team with a sleek suit for a cheeky pop of colour on race days at Doomben. The collection is limited to 18 pairs per style, so run - don’t walk - to secure yours.

LIEVE’S STYLE

revival

Mela Purdie’s autumn collection is designed to keep you stylish and comfortable during the cooler months, with the new range now in store at Lieve Boutique. For those who love their black staples throughout winter, the crepe Black Slice Dress is an elegant winter garment featuring a boat neck, long sleeves and a knee length hem. It is the ideal base for layering during the chilly winter months, designed with a relaxed shape so you feel comfortable and stylish on the go. Pair with a knee length boot and caddy coat for a pure city chic look.

Lieve Boutique is offering a complimentary refillable perfume atomizer for every $200 Mela Purdie purchase during the month of June. Simply mention Inside Portside to redeem your gift.

STUDIO PILATES

turns three

Studio Pilates International Hamilton is celebrating three years of toning bodies and helping people improve their fitness at Portside Wharf this month and for owners Gudrun and Geoff, it is a dream come true. Their journey started about 13 years ago when - in Gudrun’s own words - she was “fat, frumpy and fifty”. She had a major medical scare and ended up on blood pressure medication being told she could expect to be on it for the rest of her life. About the same time, Geoff was in a commercial job working long hours under tremendous stress. His wake up call was the realisation that what he was going to achieve was no more than a tombstone that read “he worked”,

so the two made a lifestyle choice and joined a gym. Soon Geoff was competing in Olympic triathlons and eventually a full ironman where he came second in his age group. While he was pounding the pavement, Gudrun discovered the figures competition which is focussed on toning and sculpting the body and presenting on stage. She lost 33kg and went on to represent Australia in 2009 in the World Natural Body Building Competition at the age of 56. Gudrun and Geoff turned to Pilates after recognising the incredible benefits of this form of functional exercise and purchased a Studio Pilates International franchise with plans to ease into their retirement. The

two are having so much fun and getting so much joy out of helping their clients achieve their fitness goals using the Pilates method that retirement is now off their radar. Over 400 clients have completed 30 day challenges in the past three years, with an average of over 600 client visits to the studio per week. There are over 150 individual exercises creating different and challenging workouts each and every time. If you are yet to try an energetic session at Studio Pilates, now is the time. Gudrun and Geoff are hosting an open day on Friday, June 10 between 10am and 4pm giving you the chance to view the workouts, chat with instructors and pick up some free classes when you purchase selected packs.

LIVING

BROOKFIELD TO LAUNCH NEW RIVERFRONT PROJECT Brookfield Residential Properties is gearing up to release a new $144 million riverfront development to meet increasing demand for high quality, waterfront apartments.

The 20-level luxury apartment project, Gallery House, will occupy an absolute waterfront position on the Brisbane River in Hamilton, neighbouring the developer’s retail and residential community, Portside Wharf. A registration of interest campaign has been launched for buyers looking to secure a one, two or three bedroom apartment, or one of six premium penthouses and sub penthouses. Brookfield Residential Properties’ General Manager Lee Butterworth said Gallery House was expected to appeal to purchasers wanting a luxury home or investment on Brisbane’s highly sought-after riverfront. “Gallery House will set a new standard in apartment living in Hamilton and become the most luxurious property in Brookfield’s Queensland portfolio,” he said. “We have worked closely with renowned architect, Cottee Parker, to design a building that connects with the river and emanates a sense of tranquillity and warmth.

13

“While Gallery House will cultivate a relaxed lifestyle, its location within Northshore Hamilton and proximity to Eat Street Markets and the restaurants, retailers and conveniences of Portside Wharf, means residents will also enjoy the connectedness of an inner-city suburb.” The apartments will comprise timeless design, generous sized balconies, full height windows and quality finishes, with many also featuring two car spaces. The building includes a rooftop sanctuary for residents with an infinity pool, outdoor lounge and BBQ area.

“The building will house a mix of one, two and three bedroom apartments and penthouses with various floor plans, ensuring there is plenty of choice for buyers. “We expect to see a lot of interest in the coming weeks through our registration of interest campaign as we prepare to bring the property to the market.” One bedroom apartments in Gallery House are priced from $362,000*; two bedroom apartments from $575,000*; and three bedroom apartments from $1.28 million*.

Mr Butterworth said the success of Brookfield’s most recent project, Pinnacle at Portside Wharf, proved buyers had an appetite for high-end apartments in Hamilton.

Gallery House will be the seventh apartment building for Brookfield Residential Properties in Northshore Hamilton - the city’s largest urban renewal project that will ultimately become home to more than 20,000 residents.

“After strong sales in Pinnacle, Brookfield Residential Properties has decided it is the right time to release our next riverfront residential development,” he said.

It will be located six kilometres from the CBD, 10 minutes from the Brisbane Airport and within walking distance of the CityCat.

“Gallery House will focus on the owner-occupier market but will have enormous appeal to astute investors looking for a premium product.

Interested parties can register at gallery-house.com.au. *Prices correct as at 1/6/16.
