THANK YOU FOR HELPING THE PSO PLAY ON!

Violins of Hope

Violins of Hope is a collection of restored instruments played by Jewish musicians during the Holocaust.

Remembering the Holocaust, the PSO seeks to build connections in our community, strengthen long-treasured relationships, and create meaningful ways for people to reflect and to unite through music. The PSO’s Violins of Hope Maine (October 2022) will commemorate the 80th anniversary of the resistance of the Terezín prisoners, the soaring inspiration of Verdi, and the preservation of beloved traditions through musical instruments.

Violins of Hope Maine will include a month-long residency with Violins of Hope, and it will include education and community events coordinated in partnership with the following community partners: ChoralArt, Holocaust & Human Rights Center of Maine, Maine Jewish Museum, Maine Jewish Film Festival, and the Jewish Community Alliance of Southern Maine.
