Sports report
Sonny’s personal best of 2:17 was set at this contest last year and he was desperate to set a new personal record. He got a bit tangled up with some other runners at the start and was spiked on his knee, but it didn’t prevent him from hitting the bell at 64 seconds. He was in the hunt for a medal at 600m, but lost contact with the medallists on the curve and came home in 2.14.8 seconds to knock over 2 seconds off his best and finish 5th .
Any athlete that can come to a national championship and set a new personal best should be very proud of their efforts. The four PPS athletes selected to compete were a credit to themselves, the school, and their team!
