Municity 5 so ware will bring the Building & Planning Department process into a more modern environment and increase efficiency with advanced GIS capabilities and a map interface.

Building department to start employing Laserfiche

Laserfiche is the electronic virtual file cabinet for all of the historical documents previously stored in the Building Department that have been scanned off site and uploaded into a shared platform through Brookhaven Town.

Building department taking action on vacant properties

Our Village Investigator is actively patrolling our residential and commercial districts to identify vacant lots and buildings in need of property maintenance, advising absentee owners of their obligations under the Village Code to keep their properties clean and in good repair. This practice benefits all neighbors and owners by preventing garbage accumulation, overgrowth, invasion by wild animals and insects, squa ers, and thereby maintaining everyone’s property values. To start construction of new offices near Village hall

The Bridgeport & Port Jefferson Ferry has successfully navigated the Village Planning Department process and is ready to start building their new office facility just opposite the Village Hall on West Barnum. Fred Hall, the Vice President and General Manager of the ferry company, confirms that the project is set to kick off the week of August 14th, with an expected construction timeline of 12 to 18 months. This expansion underlines the company's ongoing growth and unwavering dedication to the local community.
