Inhabiting Ruins
Fourth Year
From carbon release to carbon sequestration, the site of Prestongrange now balances its coal mining past with a Carbon Regrowth Centre. The primary aim of the centre is the management of reforestation within the territory of the Midlothian coal seam. Alongside the Centre at Prestongrange, this proposal suggests a reforestation strategy for the landscape, and a series of tree surgeon training towers, to be situated at each of the twelve old mining sites that were surveyed as part of the archiving process.

Menneskelige (human)

Ceasura; Second Year
A storytelling library in Rome. Developing the Parti of ‘Time’, as relevent to the passage of stories through verbal retellings, lead to many model based explorations. The physical architecture then embodies this research, organised around a ribboning wall that joins the Recent with the Ancient on the site; the remains of a building that was bombed in WW2 with a water pump from Ancient Roman engineering.

A Concrete Boat House
