PROPOSAL ON MEDIA CAMPAIGN AGAINST ELECTION VIOLENCE As the youth council of common wealth seek the Eradication of Election violence among Young People in all the common-wealth states; there is no better way to drive this message into the sub consciousness of the teaming Nigeria Youths than some well crafted and unique packaged media programs and messages. In line with the above fact, the media arm of this great campaign, in collaboration with 3D media concept proposes a 30 minutes Radio and TV program that will be titled “NO, TO ELECTION VIOLENCE” alongside a 45 seconds jingle that can air both during those programs and beyond. With elections scheduled for January 2015, we will advice that The radio Program airs on Raypower FM for the last six month s of the year 2014 (Two quarters), the TV Program will air on either NTA network or AIT National for the last three months of the year 2014(one quarter); while the jingle will automatically run during These programs and at strategic times , all through the election period OBJECTIVES • To ensure that, come 2015 general election, Nigeria will witness a free, fair, credible and a violence free or peaceful election. AIMS • To through these craftily created and uniquely packaged media messages, make sure that most Nigeria Youth do not only know how wrong it is to be involved in election violence, but also understand why election violence is not an option at all • Create massive awareness and education on election issues and the need for young people to be actively involved in election and electioneering process. • To raise a generation of young people who are peace loving. STRUCTURE • Each of the program Radio or TV will take to form of an interesting and interactive 30 minutes program where an anchor or two presenters are joined in the studio by a notable figure who talks on the need for a free fair and peaceful election, and responds to questions from the presenter(s) as well as young people’s comments on Vox –Pops.
