The Pearls of Promise Foundation was established by eight women of the Metropolitan Detroit Community as a charitable organization whose primary purpose was to focus on the welfare of the youth. The signature programs, Miner Hall and the Ivylettes, both focus on education, health, global poverty and economic security.

MISSION
PEARLS OF PROMISE FOUNDATION
T The Mission of the Pearls of Promise Foundation, Inc. is to provide education o opportunities, life leadership and entrepreneurial skills; health promotion, family strengthening and environmental stewardship to residents of southeast Michigan with an emphasis on youth. Our programs, mentoring and collaboration with others will result in a safer, healthier, and stable community and foster good citizens and future leaders.

As we mark the 20th anniversary of the Pearls of Promise Foundation, Inc., I am filled with an overwhelming sense of pride and gratitude. Two decades ago, our journey began with a simple yet powerful vision: to empower and uplift children in our community. Today, as we reflect on our collective achievements, we are reminded of the transformative power of perseverance, compassion, and community.

This milestone year has been a testament to the resilience and unwavering dedication of our community community.
Over the past two decades, Pearls of Promise Foundation has grown from a small grassroots organization into a strong force for change. We have touched the lives of countless families, providing them with the support, resources, and opportunities they need to thrive. From educational scholarships to mentorship programs, our impact spans far and wide, leaving an indelible mark on communities near and far.

Thank
you for your unwavering support over the past two decades decades.
We reimagined our Minor Hall Program with a redesign expanding to middle school boys and girls. We mentored and supported 32 young ladies in the Ivylettes Program targeting health and wellness, sisterhood, and mentorship. It was also a year of transition as the world emerged from the COVID-19 pandemic; activities were hybrid. We established the Ivylettes endowed scholarship, dedicating an annual scholarship to an Ivylette. We awarded $42,000 in scholarships, including community scholarships, supported by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.®, Elnita Nickleberry-Herndon, and Our Trailblazers - first-generation college students, supported by Crystal and Eugene Sewell and the Kresge Foundation, and Ivy Fields Releford and State Farm.
As we celebrate this significant anniversary, let us take a moment to honor the countless individuals who have been a part of our journey. From the dedicated women who founded Pearls of Promise Foundation, the steadfast members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.®, Lambda Pi Omega Chapter, and our working Board of Directors of the Pearls of Promise Foundation, to our generous donors and partners, each and every one of you has played a vital role in shaping the legacy of Pearls of Promise Foundation. Together, we have created a ripple effect of empowerment and inspiration that will continue to reverberate for generations to come

DURING THE PANDEMIC
The 2022 Ivylette programming targeted heath and wellness, sisterhood and mentorship. It was also a year of transition as the world emerged from the COVID- 19 pandemic, activities were hybrid with some remaining remote and some in-person. The advisors and Foundation leadership maintained CDC guidelines and safety precautions for all in- person activities. Tough topics such as Teen Mental Health were tackled to address some of the most challenging issues the pandemic brought upon the young participants.
